How African is North Africa?

How North Africa’s Geopolitics Have Changed Since The Arab Spring

North African region belongs to the sphere influence of Middle East.

We can build United States of Africa, Gaddafi says

it is the only way Africa can develop without Western interference,

The BBC reported that Gaddafi had proposed “a single African military forcea single currency and a single passport for Africans to move freelyaround
the continent”

Western media are busy attacking his proposal. His proposal was not well received by Western power. They do not want to see a united and powerful African empire.

Muammar Gaddafi vows to create ‘United States of Africa’

Gadhafi’s dying dream for African unity

Gaddafi really love for African people.

Col. Gadhafi, one of the wealthiest leaders on the continent, did not hesitate to use Libya’s vast oil money to buy political influence across Africa.

This money, in turn, helps to pay for peacekeeping missions, humanitarian aid, infrastructure projects, political organizations, and support for fragile states.

In his drive to transform the African Union into a single government
under his personal dominance, he became one of the AU’s biggest
benefactors.

Libya provided 15 per cent of the AU’s membership dues.

It also paid for the dues of many smaller and poorer countries.

If his 42 years of authoritarian rule are ending, the AU will struggle to keep its
financing intact.

The AU peacekeeping force in Somalia, with its 8,000 troops battling
against the Islamic radicals who threaten to seize control of the
war-torn country, could be weakened if the AU loses the money that Col.
Gadhafi provided.

A similar peacekeeping mission in Darfur, whose 20,000 troops are supported by the AU and the United Nations, could be similarly jeopardized if the AU loses its Libyan money.

Beyond the peacekeeping missions, a host of smaller African countries have become dependent on Col. Gadhafi as a source of aid money, infrastructure projects and military support.

Fragile states such as Chad and the Central African Republic have needed Libya’s support when they were threatened with coups.

Poorer countries such as Liberia, Mali and Niger have relied on Libya for financial support and investment.

Libya has won praise for providing humanitarian aid to the Darfuri refugees in Chad, and for helping to forge a ceasefire between Chad and Sudan.

Most Libyans still saw themselves as Arabs, but Col. Gadhafi worked
ceaselessly to portray his country as African, the cable said.

“A domestic propaganda campaign designed to represent Libya as an African state was also undertaken: billboards and larger-than-life murals depict Gadhafi emerging, messiah-like, from a glowing green Libya into an
embracing African continent.”

It described how the Libyan dictator had ordered his personal designers
to incorporate African maps and images into his vast collection of
clothing, including a large green Africa-shaped brooch, a
camouflage-style tunic with Africa-shaped patterns

Mohammed gaddafi was HERO. His only crime was that he was the one who stood up against the atrocities committed by USA. He questioned the supremacy of the worlds’s super power. He liberated libya from the Italian colonial rule. He established a great economy and great system of government which the west never understood. He was not a dictator, he had no power over the country. He was just holding a honorary position like the queen of england. He built the largest man made river which the terrorists collapsed while pillaging libya. He used give $5000 to newly married couples. He provided free health care to all the citizens of libya ( which even now USA is not capable of). All the money from the sale of oil goes to each and every citizen of libya. He provided free electricity. He had a grand plan of building a house for every family in Libya. Government paid for 50% of money for auto mobile purchase. He increased the literacy from 25 to 80 percent. It was prospering country. He also helped many african countries by lending money, lending military man. Hell, he was a great humanitarian. USA and Great Britain along with the ever lying main stream media (BBC and CNN) lied to the entire world about the dictatorship of gaddafi. It was utter nonsense that I have ever heard. Definitely innocent of the Lockerby Bombings, for which Libya was harassed and an innocent man spent years in jail.

But he came to power in a coup, suppresses political opponents, funded armed groups that the USA classed as terrorist and attempted to obtain weapons of mass destruction.  None if this is seriously disputed.

Crimes?  Others have done the same and not been punished.  The USA protected General Franco, and numerous similar people around the world.  Nothing was done about Saddam Hussein until after the end of the Cold War, when he became inconvenient.

You can’t speak of crimes without some sort of impartial judgement, which is lacking.

One thing is for sure.

Gaddafi never did bomb PanAm 103.

That plane was carrying Hydra 70 rockets with flechette warheads in its cargo bay, which detonated from turbulence over Scotland and blasted its own nose away.

In other words, the USA blew up its own airliner by mistake, and framed Gaddafi for it.

And who were the real criminals as implied here ?

” Gaddafi wanted to introduce and only trade in the African gold Dinar – a move which would have thrown the world economy into chaos.

The Dinar was widely opposed by the ‘elite’ of today’s society and who could blame them. African nations would have finally had the power to bring itself out of debt and poverty and only trade in this precious commodity. They would have been able to finally say ‘no’ to external exploitation and charge whatever they felt suitable for precious resources. It has been said that the gold Dinar was the real reason for the NATO led rebellion, in a bid to oust the outspoken leader. ”

” Essentially, the banking elite would run bankrupt due to his regulation of only trading in gold dinars. This genius plan would have killed the world economy and turned history inside-out. NATO wasn’t interested in a short brown man sporting sunglasses and a taqiyyat. In cases like this, it’s always, always about wealth and natural resources. ”

” The common saying in the West, “they hate us for our freedoms” truly applies to Libya. The Western leaders hated Libya for their freedoms, so they had no choice but to use terrorism and bomb the living hell out of Tripoli. Qaddafi wasn’t killed by those who hated his dictatorshipWestern media may portray his death as a “mutiny conducted against the government,” but those rebels were really just Western-backed terrorists and mercenaries. Basically al-Qaeda. ”

Wade Wong’s answer to Muammar Al-Qaddafi was a dictator, which means he was cruel and would kill without hesitation, but he worked and developed Libya too. How do you perceive him? What were his pros and cons?

Gaddafi is not more responsible for more crimes most world leaders are responsible for. He was a man doing what he thought would be best for his country.

From all objective measures from a diplomatic perspective, Libya was better off before the ill-advised American intervention. I apologize for going anonymous because my boss won’t allow me to speak publicly about what many now believe is the truth.

Gaddafi was never the evil dictator many say he was. He was a warlord and strongman, but he improved living standards for everyday Libyans. Libya went from a poor to a reasonably affluent society during his rule. Libya did better than what China or Japan did over the past 50 years to improve living standards for its citizens. More importantly for the West, he renounced terrorism, paid the families of the Lockerbie bombings around ten million dollars each, and prevented illegals from entering Europe. And he released his female nurses, attendants, and bodyguards back to safe sanctuaries once Libya wasn’t safe for them anymore. His most famous Ukrainian nurse, for example, was sent back to Ukraine.

The American intervention in Libya was one of the most ill-advised policy decisions America could have made, and Hillary Clinton is mostly responsible for it. All “strong-men”, “warlords”, and “dictators” will now think twice about cooperating with the West.

Hillary is pretty much a talentless hack who does whatever is best for her personal success and career. She doesn’t think, or doesn’t have the capacity to do so, for America.

Jason Szumski

One common misconception is that Gaddafi was overthrown due to the simple fact that he was a dictator or ‘strong-man’. The mandate for intervention was to ‘protect civilian lives’ during the conflict, mainly due to Gaddafi’s speech about ‘showing no mercy’ But he was not overthrown because of his longstanding dictatorship, it had to do with the threat that most countries saw him posing to Libyan people of the country, primarily the ones that oppose him.

In addition to Vijay Krishna‘s answer, I will tell you why USA attacked Libya and executed Gaddafi.Gaddafi was an excellent economist. He was about to put an end to Western Monopoly over the World Economy. He was going to introduce the Gold Dinar all over Africa. This would uplift African Economy and would collapse World Economy with respect to Western Nations.Furthermore, he was planning to form a coalition of African Countries similar to the European Union. This would destroy Western stronghold over Africa.Like any other dictator, he too had several human rights violations. However, they were not the reason for his execution.

He never went to trial. in the eyes of justice, we’ll never know. Or did we?
