While Victoria Nuland, reporting to John Kerry, and Geoffrey Pyatt openly scripted the post-Yanukovych government — pushing Arseniy Yatsenyuk as prime minister, sidelining Vitali Klitschko, suggesting the U.N. to “glue this thing,” and declaring “Fuck the EU” — Epstein’s network was already embedded. John Kerry, whose black book entry in the Epstein files lists seven phone numbers and who had received $4,000 in campaign donations from Epstein between 1991 and 2002, oversaw the operation. February 22, 2014: Yanukovych is ousted. Every element of the Nuland blueprint is executed exactly as discussed.

March 2014: Epstein emails Ariane de Rothschild confirming the “upheaval” as a profit engine. Epstein’s documented role in Ukraine went far beyond that single email. He treated the country as both a financial opportunity for the Rothschild network and a practical operational base. The Rothschild bank later took over business assets linked to the first post-coup president, Petro Poroshenko, and gained influence in Ukrainian state energy entities such as Naftogaz through debt and equity arrangements. Epstein also pitched post-Maidan opportunities to figures like Richard Branson. In return, he funded her U.S. education, airfare, beauty salon visits in New York, and gifts including a $3,500 laptop. Warnings appear in some correspondence about the danger involved for certain recruits. Epstein also discussed purchasing a mansion on Borys Romanytsky Street in Lviv through Ukrainian-born intermediaries, including art dealer Anastasiya Siroochenko. Lviv appears over 100 times in some file analyses, sometimes linked to bank accounts or transactions. Epstein followed Ukraine’s 2019 presidential election closely. In correspondence he noted that “Zelensky looking for help” and that inexperienced players may need guidance from experienced figures.

August–September 2014: While the new Ukrainian government consolidated power, Epstein held three documented meetings with Deputy Secretary of State William J. Burns, John Kerry’s number-two and a key Iran negotiator. The first was an in-person lunch on August 21 at the Washington, D.C., offices of Steptoe & Johnson. Epstein’s calendar shows he had visited the U.S. Treasury that morning. Two follow-ups occurred at Epstein’s Manhattan townhouse in early September.

Epstein followed up by text on September 1 and later emailed that when “John Kerry might be busy for awhile, they will turn to Bill Burns who will need more help.” Burns has acknowledged the contacts but described them as career-transition advice.

2014–2015: Epstein maintained heavy correspondence with former Obama White House Counsel Kathy Ruemmler, who arranged a 2015 White House tour for Woody Allen at Epstein’s request while noting Epstein himself was “too politically sensitive.”

He also kept ongoing contact with former Treasury Secretary Larry Summers. Epstein put Ariane de Rothschild directly in touch with Ruemmler. Summers, a key economic architect of the Obama administration, later exchanged messages with Epstein explicitly discussing Zelensky “looking for help” and the need for guidance from experienced players — keeping Epstein plugged into top Obama-era economic networks long after the 2014 upheaval and showing how financial and political influence circles remained intertwined.

October 2015: Epstein’s Southern Trust Company, a Virgin Islands entity, signed a $25 million contract with the Edmond de Rothschild Group for “risk analysis and the application and use of certain algorithms.” The deal came after Epstein helped mediate internal family tensions, such as those between Ariane and David de Rothschild, and assisted with a U.S. DOJ settlement involving the bank. The timing followed the coup, the Burns meetings, and Epstein’s explicit Ukraine profit forecast.

Burns went on to serve as CIA Director from 2021 to 2025. In that role he oversaw the agency’s extensive covert support for Ukraine during Russia’s full-scale invasion — the direct escalation of the 2014 upheaval Epstein and Rothschild had positioned themselves to exploit. Ghislaine Maxwell’s own statements and the Epstein files confirm that she and Epstein played a central role in formulating and launching the Clinton Global Initiative, with Epstein described as part of the original group that conceived it and Maxwell coordinating planning, budgets, and funding. This Clinton Foundation node sat at the heart of the same transnational web that linked Epstein’s access to Obama-era officials, Rothschild financial positioning, and the post-Maidan profit machine in Ukraine.

The ties extend even further into the server controversies that surfaced during the 2016 election cycle. Allegations persist that Clinton’s deleted emails — or the DNC servers central to the hack investigation — were connected to Ukraine, with CrowdStrike, the cybersecurity firm hired by the DNC to investigate the breach, becoming a focal point. CrowdStrike’s co-founder Dmitri Alperovitch has Ukrainian roots, and conspiracy narratives claimed the DNC servers were never fully examined by the FBI and were instead “hidden” or handled through Ukrainian-linked channels.

These claims, amplified in political discourse, underscore how Ukraine served as both a geopolitical chessboard and a potential data haven for the same elite networks Epstein, Rothschild interests, and Clinton-era figures navigated, further entangling financial, political, and intelligence operations in the region.
