As we look back on 2023, we’re excited to celebrate the strides we’ve made in advancing public awareness of psychedelics and acceptance of people who use them. This year was marked by significant milestones in our Public Education initiatives, and we want you to be a part of our celebration.

- Hosting the Breakthrough Psychedelic Conference
One of our proudest accomplishments was hosting the world’s largest psychedelic conference in history. The conference served as an inflection point for what I’ve called “the breakthrough era in psychedelics.” PS23 was a crucial event for fostering dialogue, breaking down stigmas, and creating a platform for collaboration on the future of psychedelic research, policy reform, culture, and harm reduction.
- Taking the World on a Virtual Trip
PS23 left us with hundreds of hours of session videos…rich information we’ve been thrilled to share far and wide. To ensure accessibility, we made most conference sessions available online through a pay-what-you-can model, enabling anyone to engage with the latest information and discussions surrounding psychedelics without financial barriers.
- Shaping the Public Narrative
Our media-based education efforts this year reached millions of people! With your help, we’ve been shaping the public narrative around psychedelics, dispelling myths and misinformation, and highlighting the potential benefits of these substances through many thousands of articles, broadcast news stories, podcasts, and radio appearances. By framing the conversation in a thoughtful and evidence-based manner, we are shifting societal attitudes toward a more nuanced and compassionate perspective.
Despite these achievements, our work is far from over…and we need your help! Education remains a crucial aspect of ensuring the responsible integration of psychedelics into our society.

Next year, we may see the first psychedelic-assisted therapy approved by the FDA, and more municipalities and states may pass legislation increasing access outside of the medical system. We must continue to provide our society with nuanced and evidence-based information about psychedelics so that we may fully realize their potential benefits and mitigate risks.
