“The Catholic Church strongly supports vaccination and regards Catholics as having a prima facie duty to be vaccinated, not only for the sake of their own health but also out of solidarity with others, especially the most vulnerable,” the letter, released Thursday, July 30 states.
“We believe that there is a moral obligation to guarantee the vaccination coverage necessary for the safety of others. This is especially important for the discovery of a vaccine against COVID-19,” the bishops continue.
While the letter notes that “[t]he Church is opposed to the production of vaccines using tissue derived from aborted foetuses,” it also states that “the Church teaches that the paramount importance of the health of a child and other vulnerable persons could permit parents to use a vaccine which was in the past developed using these diploid cell lines.”
The bishops then briefly mention the 2005 Pontifical Academy for Life document “Moral reflections on vaccines prepared from cells derived from aborted human foetuses” before quoting a separate 2017 Pontifical Academy for Life statement, which asserts that “all clinically recommended vaccinations can be used with a clear conscience and that the use of such vaccines does not signify some sort of cooperation with voluntary abortion.” SUBSCRIBEto LifeSite’s daily headlinesSUBSCRIBEU.S. Canada World Catholic
U.K. Catholic Deacon Nick Donnelly told Church Militant that “one of the cell lines being exploited in the production of the COVID-19 vaccine at Oxford University is from a healthy baby girl murdered through abortion in 1972 in the Netherlands.”
“Her kidney cells were harvested for medical research and given the dehumanizing label HEK-293. She’d probably be a 40-year-old mother with her own family by now,” Donnelly said.
“I don’t know how CBCEW can say it’s okay for Catholics to use vaccines incorporating cell lines from babies murdered through abortion,” he continued.
“Instead, the bishops are saying not only is it morally permissible to benefit from her murder through abortion, but that its a moral obligation for the greater good.”
In an open letter published in May, Catholic clergy and laity led by former papal nuncio Archbishop Viganò and Cardinals Gerhard Ludwig Müller, Joseph Zen, and Janis Pujats said that “for Catholics it is morally unacceptable to develop or use vaccines derived from material from aborted fetuses.”
This weekend, Bishop Joseph Strickland of Tyler, Texas reiterated his opposition to vaccines created using cell lines from aborted babies.
“I renew my call that we reject any vaccine that is developed using aborted children,” Strickland tweeted.
“Even if it originated decades ago it still means a child’s life was ended before it was born & then their body was used as spare parts. We will never end abortion if we do not END THIS EVIL!”

German parents face jail if they don’t confine COVID-suspected children in their own rooms

August 13, 2020 (LifeSiteNews) – Local government authorities in Germany have threatened parents whose children are suspected of having contracted the coronavirus with fines and jail time when they don’t isolate their children in their own rooms.
According to a report released by German newspaper Die Welt, some local government agencies even ordered the children not to eat with other family members.
“Your child must avoid contact with other household members in the household by ensuring that there is a separation in time and space,” one letter read. “No meals together. Your child should preferably be alone in a room separate from other household members.”
Parents of children as young as age three received similar letters.
In the city of Bruchsal, dozens of fourth graders were sent home to quarantine. Parents were asked to have their children, who are mostly around nine years old, wear a face covering at home when in contact with family members. City officials even threatened to take away the children from their families and place them in a special institution for the duration of the quarantine should parents refuse to comply.

Hedwig von Beverfoerde, the founder of “Demo für Alle” and leader of pro-family demonstrations in Germany, told LifeSiteNews that public health authorities threatening “to take children away from the family by coercive measures and to take them into state custody takes your breath away!”
“Such measures exceed every measure and are otherwise known from totalitarian states, such as, at one point, Nazi Germany, East Germany, China or North Korea,” she said.
Beverfoerde also commented on the restrictions placed upon ordinary citizens amid the coronavirus crisis. “Many of our government’s coronavirus measures are completely disproportionate and illogical, given the small number of people seriously ill with COVID-19, let alone those who died from it,” she said.
“Some federal states, for example, introduced compulsory masks for children in school lessons,” she pointed out. “This is not only unnecessary, but also dangerous from a medical point of view and prevents normal teaching.”
Instead of forcing children to wear face coverings, Beverfoerde advocated for homeschooling as a viable alternative.
“The government could make good use of the current situation and transform rigid compulsory schooling into modern compulsory education, allowing homeschooling by parents,” she explained. “In this way, the education of our children could continue to be guaranteed – without expensive and complex measures for the schools, which contribute nothing to the protection of our children anyway.”
Homeschooling in Germany has been illegal since the time of the Nazis. Families who attempt to homeschool are routinely fined, and even ripped apart, with children being placed under the care of government agencies. Some families have moved to foreign countries, including the United States, to educate their children at home.
Beverfoerde lamented “a general distrust towards parents in our society, although they usually know and love their children.”
“In many German youth welfare offices, this distrust also exists,” she emphasized. “In 2018 alone, over 52,000 minors were taken from their families. Among them were numerous obvious mistakes, with absurd reasons given, such as that the bond between mother and child was too close.”
Regarding the letters sent to parents of children who are suspected of carrying the coronavirus, a spokeswoman for the city of Offenbach said, “A possible fine must first be threatened as a possible legal consequence in order to be able to determine it if necessary.”
However, in concrete situations, not all of the local government’s demands might be followed, she admitted, saying that details will be determined during the first conversation between government agencies and the family in question.
The organization “Familien in der Krise” (Families in Crisis), which was founded in response to the coronavirus outbreak in Germany, commented that “it is good that at least in the talks the needs of the children are taken into account, but we demand legal security for the families affected.”
“The physical and psychological needs of the children must already be in accordance with the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child when the legally binding administrative act is adopted and must be given priority,” the organization added.
The German Association for the Protection of Children (Deutscher Kinderschutzbund), a lobby organization for children, called the isolation of children from their parents “a form of psychological violence.”
“The German Association for the Protection of Children considers these measures to be disproportionate and unacceptable,” the statement continued. “The threat of being taken out and placed in an isolation ward … also causes lasting insecurity for families. Certainly, measures must be taken to contain the pandemic. But this can also be regulated by including the entire household, or at least one parent with custody, in the quarantine measures.”

WASHINGTON, D.C., August 13, 2020 (LifeSiteNews) – The little-known foreign organization which helped incite the “Occupy Wall Street” movement and its imitators in big cities across the U.S. a decade ago is now declaring war on the Trump Administration, capitalism, and the American electoral process as it invites agitators to D.C. to “lay siege to the White House” for 50 days before Election Day.
It is clear that the subversives behind this planned assault on the nation’s capital want Democrats Joe Biden and Kamala Harris to win.
They seek to “inspire a global movement of systemic change – a Global Spring – a cultural heave towards a new world order.”
Recruiting for a ‘revolution’

Hoping to tap into the ongoing roiling turmoil of Black Lives Matters (BLM) protests and Antifa destruction in many American cities over the last few months, Adbusters, a non-profit Canadian organization which calls itself “a global network of activists[,] writers[,] artists[,] designers[,] hackers[,] tricksters[,] poets[,] philosophers[,] and punks,” has begun publicizing its plans and offering “Tactical Briefings” via social media.
“On September 17, 2020 we will lay siege to The White House for exactly fifty days,” announces Adbusters’ July 28 Tweet, pinned at the top of the group’s Twitter page. “We need your wisdom and expertise to pull off a radically democratic toneshift in our politics.”
“Are you ready for #revolution?” they ask. “This is the #WhiteHouseSiege.”

Socialists seek to ‘topple existing power structures’
Previously, Adbusters had declared that they seek to bring together those “who want to advance the new socialist activist movement of the information age. Our aim is to topple existing power structures and forge a major shift in the way we will live in the 21st century.”
“This toppling, it seems, entails a lot of extreme, foul behavior,” I observed in 2011 after having gone undercover with the “Occupy” movement for a few days.
If the planned White House “siege” is anything like the “Occupy” movement’s takeover of public spaces nine years ago, Americans can expect the same sort of ugliness recently witnessed in Seattle’s police-free CHOP/CHAZ zone, and much more.
Here’s what I saw in 2011:
So far, Occupy encampments and events around the country have set the scene for more than 4,000 arrests, multiple alleged rapes, anti-Semitic harangues, attacks on police, child endangerment, public defecation and urination, public sex and masturbation, drug use, thefts, assaults, vandalism, the destruction of private and public property, devastating blows to local merchants’ businesses, a few deaths, and much, much more. The list continues to grow.
By any measurement of objective truth, this “movement” is appalling. What is more appalling is this: adult progressives ––politicos, pundits, self-interested activists, and activist organizations–– are inhumanely manipulating these poor clueless kids who are experiencing degradation all for the sake of a flawed, failing ideology.
Through Occupy Wall Street, liberal elites reveal who they are deep down inside and how they would behave if they themselves were free to cast aside all societal restraint. Their unwavering support and cheerleading for the Occupiers prove that they are comfortable with some level of both anarchy and tyranny if either will bring about their impossible utopian vision for the United States of America. Many seem to be longing for a “Kent State” or “Tiananmen Square” moment to win public sympathy and spark the revolution.
The big story concerning Occupy Wall Street was not about the protesters. It was about the politicians, media, pundits, public- and private-sector unions, and other liberal elites whose ideological contempt breathed life into the movement.
The same is true today. The same liberal elites – whose numbers and influence have swelled since then via the growth of Big Tech and as others have ascended the corporate ladder in the country’s biggest companies – are likely to support the planned White House “siege” from behind the scenes in order to influence the 2020 Presidential and Senatorial elections.
Amazon is already seeking to profit from the planned event, promoting “The White House Siege” tee shirts on its website.
What’s more, the Democrat Party is now steered by its radical socialist base, and will likely be cheering from the sidelines if the planned “siege” takes place.
Tapping ‘domestic terrorists’ and BLM to ‘destroy the foundations of the American Republic’
Adbusters’ plan is radical.
“The group’s website boasts an updated twist to the messaging, branding, and PR of a standard Marxist cultural revolution,” noted PJ Media’s Kari Donovan, “this one meant to destroy the foundations of the American Republic with the assistance of the other domestic terrorists and participants of the Black Lives Matter movement.”
