Manuel Schadwald was born on January 24, 1981 in Berlin, Germany, to a loving family. He liked to play computer games and sports.
On July 24, 1993, Manuel left his parents’ flat in Tempelhof to go take the bus to a recreation center in Köpenick. He never made it there. After being reported missing, it was discovered that Manuel had most likely been abducted by pedophiles and taken to the Netherlands. He was spotted in Rotterdam, Amsterdam, and on a yacht. After an infamous Belgian pedophile died in 1998, his belongings were searched, and thousands of images and videos were found depicting the pedophile torturing and sexually abusing children. One of those children was Manuel.
Devastatingly, a final video was found to have captured Manuel’s murder on film. It is unknown how long he was held captive, and it is unknown where and when he died. His body has still not been found.
Manuel was 12 years old at the time of his disappearance and murder. He was 5’2″, with dark brown hair and hazel eyes. He was last seen wearing jean shorts, black gym shoes, a grey T-shirt, and a grey summer jacket with a logo on the back. He had on him a turquoise backpack that said “Miami Vice”, his ID card and his apartment key.
