Russia Memorandum on Syria “Suspended” by Putin after Trump Attack
Posted: 07 Apr 2017 10:00 AM PDT MEMORANDUM ON AIR SAFETY “SUSPENDED” ACCORDING TO RUSSIAN FOREIGN MINISTRY. Following Moscow’s condemnation of the U.S. attack of a Syrian airbase yesterday, the Russian Foreign Ministry has stated it’s suspending a 2015 signed memorandum on air safety in Syria, striking a first major blow in relations between the two countries since Donald Trump took office. The memorandum, which was aimed at minimizing the risk of inflight incidents among coalition and Russian aircraft operating in Syrian airspace, has been suspended in light of Russian President Vladimir Putin’s assertion that the risk of confrontation between aerial assets of the U.S.-led coalition and Russia has “significantly increased”. In a statement by the Russian Defence Ministry spokesman on the missile strike carried out by the US Navy against the Shayrat Air Base in Syria, Russia states:
When the memorandum was originally signed, Russia’s Ministry of Defence had indicated it “was seeking agreement that is more substantial.” The latest setback places the U.S. relations with Russia back to a similar position as under the Obama administration, as the tone of the statement suggests:
The Russian Defence Ministry also made the outlandish claim that:
All this in the context of U.S. President Trump campaigning on better relations with the Kremlin than what existed during the previous administration, including fighting ISIS side-by-side with Russia, which now must be a long way off from happening. North Korea Ready To Deliver ‘The Most Ruthless Blow’ As U.S, Japan and South Korea Conflict Rises
Posted: 07 Apr 2017 09:15 AM PDT KIM Jong-Un has placed North Korea on the “brink of war” as a high-profile defector urged US President Donald Trump to assassinate the despot North Korean leader before he fires his nuclear weapons at America and the UK. Yesterday in Florida, President Donald Trump welcomed China’s President Xi Jinping for their first meeting. While attending, Trump pledged to boost defences against Pyongyang ‘with or without’ the help of China. A joint naval exercise involving the U.S, Japan and South Korea is being aimed at countering the threat from North Korean submarines, which further fuelled the tense situation in the region. North Korea’s foreign ministry branded the exercise as ‘reckless’ and said it was driving the Korean peninsula to the ‘brink of war’. North Korea’s ambassador to Moscow, Kym Hyong-Jun, told Trump that it was ready to respond if any of these operations posed a threat to their country:
A high profile defector, Thae Yong Ho, predicted that Kim Jong-un will use nuclear weapons against the U.S and U.K. unless they ‘eliminate him’ first. He fears the world should be prepared because Kim is:
ICBM are known as Intercontinental Ballistic Missiles, or deadly missiles which hold the potential of having the ability to strike the U.S. Thae believes he may be killed as he is now a ‘marked man’ for speaking out against the regime claiming the only way to solve the North Korean nuclear problem is to eliminate Kim Jong-Un. Thae was living in London with his family as the ambassador to the U.K before they defected to South Korea last year, giving him rare insight to the secretive country. In an interview in Seoul, South Korea, Thae told Lester Holt of NBC News, the ‘world should be ready’, adding:
Last year North Korea reportedly tested missile launches and it has been estimated the country currently holds approximately eight nuclear weapons. However, it is not confirmed whether these weapons are actually capable of being attached to a rocket and strike the U.S In February, North Korea launched four ballistic missiles from its eastern coast which came to close proximity of Japan, claiming it was a drill for an attack on U.S bases. It was said on Tuesday by the U.S Military that North Korea had fired a ballistic missile into the sea of Japan, however it was said it did not pose a threat to North America.
Even though Thae is not directly involved in North Korea’s weapons program, he believes the country is aiming to reach its goals of completing their nuclear program and will stop at nothing to finish the project. With Pyongyang on a quest to complete their nuclear program goals, it has so far launched five nuclear tests, two of them last year. Speaking to reporters on Air Force One, Trump said he would:
He added:
As tensions are rising in the South contested seas of China, Trump has added pressure to Chinese President Jinping, by saying he would take action against Kim Jong-Un if China failed to step up to the plate. First Aftermath Images Of ‘Inefficient’ U.S. Missile Strikes Emerge
Posted: 07 Apr 2017 08:28 AM PDT Article via Zero Hedge Russia’s Rossiya 24 news channel has revealed the first footage from the Shayrat airbase, which the United States hit with a volley of 59 Tomahawk missiles after an alleged “chemical attack” in Idlib earlier this week. Russian Defence Ministry spokesman Maj. Gen. Igor Konashenkov said “the combat efficiency of the US strike was very low”, adding that only 23 of the 59 Tomahawk cruise missiles reached the Shayrat air base in the province of Homs and as the following images suggest, they were not as damaging as some may have hoped… Runway, taxi way, parked jets weren’t damaged as a result of U.S. airstrikes, Interfax reports, citing Russian Defense Ministry. However, there was some significant damage… Additionally, Russia says Syrian air defense systems will be bolstered after 6 jets and the radar system was destroyed in the airstrike. 4 Syrian military are reported dead and 2 missing after the strike. They have stated that they want to properly assess the situation before making any claims about today’s actions in Sweden, and whether or not it is a terrorist action. At least three people have been reportedly killed in the events today. Around 8 have been injured in the attack. The Swedish Prime Minister is reportedly convinced that this is a terrorist attack. In a report publish by Swedish media, the PM was quoted to say that “Sweden has been attacked. Everything indicates an act of terror.” The truck used in the attack was reportedly stolen during a delivery: “During a delivery to the restaurant Caliente someone jumped into the driver’s cabin and drove off with the car while the driver unloads,” said Spendrups communications director Mårten Lyth to local media. Wikileaks Releases Vault 7 “Grasshopper”
Posted: 07 Apr 2017 06:35 AM PDT “Today, April 7th 2017, WikiLeaks releases Vault 7 “Grasshopper” — 27 documents from the CIA’s Grasshopper framework, a platform used to build customized malware payloads for Microsoft Windows operating systems,” the anti-secrecy organisation announced Friday morning.
“Grasshopper is provided with a variety of modules that can be used by a CIA operator as blocks to construct a customized implant that will behave differently, for example maintaining persistence on the computer differently, depending on what particular features or capabilities are selected in the process of building the bundle. Additionally, Grasshopper provides a very flexible language to define rules that are used to “perform a pre-installation survey of the target device, assuring that the payload will only [be] installed if the target has the right configuration”. Through this grammar CIA operators are able to build from very simple to very complex logic used to determine, for example, if the target device is running a specific version of Microsoft Windows, or if a particular Antivirus product is running or not. “Grasshopper allows tools to be installed using a variety of persistence mechanisms and modified using a variety of extensions (like encryption). The requirement list of the Automated Implant Branch (AIB) for Grasshopper puts special attention on PSP avoidance, so that any Personal Security Products like ‘MS Security Essentials’, ‘Rising’, ‘Symantec Endpoint’ or ‘Kaspersky IS’ on target machines do not detect Grasshopper elements. “One of the persistence mechanisms used by the CIA here is ‘Stolen Goods’ – whose “components were taken from malware known as Carberp, a suspected Russian organized crime rootkit.” confirming the recycling of malware found on the Internet by the CIA. “The source of Carberp was published online, and has allowed AED/RDB to easily steal components as needed from the malware.”. While the CIA claims that “[most] of Carberp was not used in Stolen Goods” they do acknowledge that “[the] persistence method, and parts of the installer, were taken and modified to fit our needs”, providing a further example of reuse of portions of publicly available malware by the CIA, as observed in their analysis of leaked material from the italian company “HackingTeam”. “The documents WikiLeaks publishes today provide an insights into the process of building modern espionage tools and insights into how the CIA maintains persistence over infected Microsoft Windows computers, providing directions for those seeking to defend their systems to identify any existing compromise.” View/download the files here. INSANITY: Brian Williams Calls Trump’s Air Strikes “Beautiful”
Posted: 07 Apr 2017 03:20 AM PDT MSNBC presstitute Brian Williams praised President Donald Trump’s strike on Syria calling the display of the missiles “beautiful in the night’s sky.”
In a moment that might be the end of Williams sordid, sorry career, he praised the video released by the Pentagon showing a U.S. destroyer launching a missile into the night sky. “Going to greater detail, we see these beautiful pictures at night from the decks of these two U.S. Navy vessels in the eastern Mediterranean I am tempted to quote the great Leonard Cohen.” Williams then loosely quoted the late poet/musician Cohen’s work “First We Take Manhattan,” “I’m guided by the beauty of our weapons.”, “I’m guided by the beauty of our weapons,” he said. Adding, “And they are beautiful pictures of fearsome armaments making what is for them a brief flight over this airfield what do you think they hit?” Williams asked. The lyrics ironically are:
The internet responded in outrage with many condemning Williams praise for the strike in response to the Syrian government’s alleged involvement in a chemical attack on its own people. Others mocked the former NBC news anchor one person called him an “asshat” (oh wait that was me.)
Williams was previously involved in a scandal in which he lied to the American people on air that he was in a helicopter in Iraq that was shot by an RPG and AK47. Williams was called out by a soldier Lance Reynolds on Facebook who was aboard that aircraft who denied his presence at the scene. Williams then apologized stating he made a mistake that he was in the following aircraft after pushing his story as war propaganda he was later fired from NBC and hired at MSNBC. You would think that someone who had a rocket shot at him would know the horrors of war but apparently, Williams thinks that missiles in the sky about to kill people and cause destruction are a “beautiful” thing, maybe he should volunteer to go cover it up close and personal in Syria as a foreign war correspondent? Moscow Calls Trump’s Attack On Syria A ‘Violation Of International Law’
Posted: 06 Apr 2017 11:37 PM PDT A spokesperson for Vladimir Putin says he believes US air strikes on Syria’s army are ‘illegal’ and badly damage relations with Russia.Vladimir Putin “regards the strikes as aggression against a sovereign nation,” according to his spokesman Dmitry Peskov, noting that the president of Russia believes the airstrikes were conducted “in violation of international law, and also under an invented pretext.” On April 6, Trump ordered the firing of 59 cruise missiles at a military target in Syria in retaliation of Assad’s alleged use of chemical weapons on civilians in Syria earlier this week. Peskov claims that “the Syrian army doesn’t have chemical weapons,” explaining that this had been “observed and confirmed by the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons, a special UN unit.” “This step deals significant damage to US-Russian ties, which are already in a deplorable state,” Peskov said. This is a breaking news story and will be updated as more information comes available. Conflicting Reports On Whether Moscow Was Informed Of Syria Strike
Posted: 06 Apr 2017 08:22 PM PDT It seems that either Pentagon or Russian officials are lying about the claims regarding USA-Russian communications prior to tonight’s airstrikes in Syria. The Pentagon has released a statement saying that they had notified Russian forces “in advance of the strike using the established deconfliction line.”
However, a news network run by the Russian Ministry of Defense claimed that U.S. officials “informed a number of countries about the forthcoming strike against Syria, but Russia was not among these countries” citing CNN.
“I think the key complexity here is: We would not want to attack a Syrian target at which there were Russian forces. We would not want to kill Russian forces in such an attack, because that obviously could lead us into a war with Russia,” former Deputy Director of the CIA Michael Morell told CBS News. “So I’m pretty confident that the Pentagon was confident that there were not Russian forces at this particular air field.” Reuters reported that the U.S. military gave Russian forces an advanced notice of the strikes and had multiple conversations with Russian forces through back channels prior to the attack, Pentagon spokesman Captain Jeff Davis said. He further noted that the bombardment did not hit sections of the base where the Russians were believed to be present. Secretary of state Rex Tillerson stated that the U.S. sought no approval from Moscow for the decisive strikes contradicting what the pentagon spokesman claimed. “There were no discussions or prior contacts, nor had there been any since the attack with Moscow,” Tillerson said Now, it looks like we will have to figure out which side is lying. We will keep you updated as new developments arise regarding this apparent miscommunication. DEVELOPING: Multiple Reports U.S. Airstrikes Being Carried Out On Syria
Posted: 06 Apr 2017 06:28 PM PDT (WeAreChange) — U.S. military officials have confirmed to NBC News that the United States launched dozens of cruise missiles at a Syrian airfield on Thursday night in response to what US officials believe was the Syrian government’s use of banned chemical weapons which were blamed for having killed at least 100 people on Tuesday.
Two U.S. warships in the Mediterranean Sea fired approximately 60 Tomahawk missiles intended for a single target — Ash Sha’irat in Homs province in western Syria which is reportedly the airfield from which the United States claims the government of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad fired the banned weapons. There was no immediate word on casualties, however U.S. officials informed NBC News that people were not targeted and that aircraft and infrastructure at the site, including the runway, were hit. Russia Previously Warned Against An Attack On SyriaRussian deputy U.N. envoy, Vladimir Safronkovhav previously warned about the dire consequences of a U.S. attack on Syria. According to Yahoo News, he was reported to say:
As reported, when asked about what the consequences would be, he said “Look at Iraq, look at Libya.” President Trump’s StatementPresident Trump spoke to reporters at his Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida following the attack. Here’s his full statement:
U.S. Officials RespondU.S. Pentagon official, Captain Jeff Davis, said the following after the U.S. airstrikes in Syria:
The Pentagon itself has also apparently responded:
Kentucky Republican Senator Rand Paul issued a statement on Twitter shortly after the attacks pointing out that Trump’s military action was essentially pointless and unconstitutional:
Senators John McCain and Lindsey Graham released also released the following statement after the airstrikes:
Was Trump Planning On This The Whole Time?In case you missed it, We Are Change’s Luke Rudkowski had previously predicted that war in Syria would happen under the Trump administration: The Syrian SANA news agency stated that there were several casualties. Interfax reported that the state TV news agency called the attack “an act of aggression”. This attack marks the first time the U.S. has deliberately targeted Assad’s military in Syria’s multi-sided civil war, now ongoing into its seventh year. Until now, the U.S. has focused solely on targeting Islamic State militants. BREAKING: U.S. Airstrikes on Syria Imminent
Posted: 06 Apr 2017 06:09 PM PDT Originally published at Zero Hedge. Two credible sources are reporting that Trump’s airstrikes against Syria, which risk provoking a major military conflict involving not only Russia but also China, could begin as soon as tonight. First, the Spectator tweeted moments ago that there are “reports that journalists are being told to remain at Pentagon and ‘chatter’ of military strike on Syria as soon as tonight
Second, according to BBC’s North American reporter, Jon Sopel, US military action against Assad could be “imminent” “Given everything that’s been said in the last 24 hours, I think that military action is a betting certainty and could be imminent and we could wake up tomorrow morning and find out that the Americans have taken action,” Sopel said adding that the Trump administration’s shift on the issue has been “pretty dramatic” in light of Rex Tillerson statement just one week ago that Assad was part of Syria’ s future and “the longer term status of President Assad will be decided by the Syrian people.”
Sopel adds that having “heaped derision” on Barack Obama for allowing Assad to cross his red line, “for Donald Trump not to act now he would look weak, and he wouldn’t want that.” As reported earlier, the Pentagon is set to brief Trump on his military options in Syria, which include a potential “saturation strike” which could result in numerous Russian military casualties, and resulting in an imminent confrontation between Washington and Moscow. The NYT adds that negotiations are taking place right now between Defense Secretary Jim Mattis and Gen. Joseph F. Dunford Jr., the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. Meanwhile, as Paul Joseph Watson reports, a groundswell of opposition to what Trump supporters see as a “disastrous move” is building, with many amazed that Trump is considering following the same catastrophic policy that Hillary Clinton pursued in aiding jihadist rebels in Libya and Syria by destabilizing Assad’s secular government. So far markets have not reacted to speculation of imminent action. Stay tuned for updates at WeAreChange.org as soon as we get them.

Hillary Clinton Leaves the Woods to Come Out and Warmonger
Posted: 06 Apr 2017 04:41 PM PDT Failed presidential candidate Hillary Clinton made a rare public appearance on Thursday evening to come out and push for war.
The former Secretary of State called for intervention while she was speaking at the Women of the World Summit in New York, saying that the US should target Syrian airfields. “That air force is the cause of most of the civilian deaths, as we have seen over the years and as we saw again in the last few days,” Clinton said.
Clinton is now perfectly aligned with Iraq War architect Bill Kristol and neoconservatives such as John McCain. The chemical attack has raised many eyebrows, as it came just days after the Trump administration stated that Syrians should decide who is running their country. “It makes no sense, even if you were totally separate from this and take no sides of this and you were just an analyst, it doesn’t make sense for Assad under these conditions to all of the sudden use poison gasses. I think it’s zero chance that he would have done this deliberately,” former Texas congressman Ron Paul said on Wednesday. Kentucky Representative Thomas Massie has also been outspoken about how the attack would not serve Assad’s interests. [Related: CNN Reporter Dumbfounded After Congressman Questions Syria Attack] “Let me ask you this: Who benefits? Who benefits, if chemical weapons were used and America weighs in on the side of the rebels, or wades into a war against Assad?” Massie said in an interview on CNN. “How does Assad benefit from that?” Many of Trump’s most prominent supporters on social media have also been campaigning and urging the president to ignore calls for intervention.
