“This incident stands out against the usual fight against terrorism. Our troops are fighting heroically against terrorists, risking their lives. But the loss we suffered today came from a stab in the back delivered by accomplices of the terrorists,”
– Vladimir Putin
A Turkish F-16 used an air-to-air missile to shoot down a Russian Su-24 bomber that was nearly 1 mile in Syrian airspace – Putin said in a meeting with Jordanian King Abdullah II that this will cause grave consequences for relations between Russia and Turkey.
The plane was traveling at 6,000 meters when it was shot down and ended up crashing about 3 miles in Syrian territory, the jet posed no threat according to Putin, who stated the warplane was conducting a mission in the Lakatia region.
One of the Russian pilots was killed after parachuting from the jet by ‘rebel’ forces, hours later, Turkish forces reported that both pilots were killed while parachuting. This would later turn out to be false, with one pilot being successfully recovered.
Immediately after destroying the Russian warplane, Turkish military contacted NATO forces to assess further action, instead of Russia. Putin compared the Turkish response to as if Russia had downed one of their planes.
All of this unfolded despite Turkey being a part of the US-led coalition which has been created with the intent to prevent incidences such as this.
NATO responded with a emergency meeting in Brussels to discuss the event and ‘what if’ scenarios; a US official also has stated to FOX news that “This will get complicated fast,”
Putin then stated his awareness of Turkey’s part in assisting IS and other extremist factions:
“IS has big money, hundreds of millions or even billions of dollars, from selling oil. In addition they are protected by the military of an entire nation. One can understand why they are acting so boldly and blatantly. Why they kill people in such atrocious ways. Why they commit terrorist acts across the world, including in the heart of Europe,”
This is what We Are Change exposed well over a YEAR ago.
The criminal Turkish government has been acting as a NATO accomplice and conduit for terrorists to operate with impunity since the beginning of the Syrian conflict.
