It isn’t every day that the head of a global criminal syndicate who is personally implicated in the trafficking and disappearance of children gets to be honored by and address both the United Nations General Assembly and the joint Congress of the United States.
Pope Francis, aka Jorge “Mr. Nice Guy” Bergoglio, breezes into America on September 22 as part of an unprecedented multi-million dollar facelift operation for both the Vatican Incorporated and the Obama government. And after trampling on the United States Constitution and sanctifying a genocidal California missionary, Bergoglio will lecture the world’s diplomats and press corps in New York about how our planet should be run.
Jorge, whose nickname as a Cardinal was “the Fixer”, has come a long way since his days as a clerical hatchet man and spin doctor for his name sake, the murderous Argentine dictator General Jorge Videla. The “Two Georges” were good friends, apparently, which may explain Bergoglio’s penchant for ignoring all the blood he was wading through during Videla’s Dirty Wars of the 1970′s, and for trafficking the children of political prisoners locked away or killed by the General. How else does a lowly priest like Bergy get to become an Archbishop in just fourteen years?
Bergoglio has always been a Climber, corpses or not, and he certainly has become the Flavor of the Month for the image-conscious Mob in Rome in the wake of their Joseph Ratzinger disaster. But the obvious need for a refurbished “good cop” visage on the papacy has had to contend with the growing dis-ease felt by many traditional catholics, and the entire Italian curia of Cardinals, for Bergoglio’s tendency to be All Things to All Liberals.
Perhaps that’s why Pope Frank’s first official act during his American sojourn, even before speaking to Congress, will be to reaffirm the Vatican’s proud genocidal traditions by “beatifying” a Franciscan missionary named Junipero Serra, who supervised the enslavement and murder of thousands of California Indians on church plantations. The obligatory conquest and extermination of non-catholics, especially if they were indigenous, is after all a foundation of the Roman faith; and so just to reassure church traditionalists, Jorge Bergoglio will publicly name Junipero Serra, “the Butcher of Monterey”, as blessed.
You’d think this fact might cause some of the “We Love Jorge” crowd to sit up and smell the cadavers. But human credulity, it seems, knows no bounds, especially when it comes to Roman Catholicism. Not even Bergoglio’s refusal to revoke the Vatican’s criminal policy of protecting in-house child rapists has caused his fans – including die-hard atheists – to doubt their new found messiah.
Myopia aside, Bergoglio will be at home among the more liberal catholic crowd in America, and of course everybody in the States loves a parade: especially during an election year. But even as the papal entourage careens from Congress to the United Nations to the obligatory tear-jerking mass at the 9-11 memorial site in lower Manhattan, the real question remains: Why now, and why here?
Speculation about Bergoglio’s trip is rife, of course, mostly by those without any facts. But it is undeniable that the Obama administration badly wanted the papal visit to happen, and pressured both parties to accede to it, following Obama’s personal visit with Bergoglio earlier this year in Rome. For America and the West are clearly nervous about the Vatican’s overtures to the Moscow-Bejing axis, and the alleged transfer of millions of Vatican Bank Euros into the new Asian Investment Bank that hopes to rival the IMF for global financial supremacy.
Ever the consummate Jesuit politician, Jorge Bergoglio knows how to play both sides of the Great Game by feigning loyalty to each faction. All of his words, and his managerial instinct to play to the crowd, need to be appreciated in that light.
Despite what people may hear or want, there is no great reform movement underway in the Vatican; on the contrary, Pope Francis has challenged none of the standing Vatican policies. In truth, what his regime is doing is taking sides in the new global cold war by realigning the Roman Catholic Church towards the eastern power bloc, and influencing America to do the same. After all, three quarters of catholics are in the third world now, and coming from there himself, Jorge Bergoglio knows that the old supreme Imperium of western Europe and America is on the wane.
Official America must realize its twilight condition as well, election-time rhetoric notwithstanding, considering the abject prostitution of both Democrats and Republicans to the Fixer from Rome. But America is much more than its venal politicians, and as a People still believe, however naively, in the separation of church and state, and the need to prosecute and not coddle proven war criminals like Jorge Bergoglio and his syndicate.
Perhaps the papal visit in late September will be a chance to reassert that slumbering soul of America, and actually stop rather than enable the crime against humanity calling itself the Vatican.
