The Empire Is Collapsing—Now Fight for the Adulthood of Mankind

March 20 (EIRNS)—President Trump is driving the British Empire and its satraps in the U.S. and around the world into a state of total panic. He is rejecting the “special relationship” between the U.S. and the British, openly identifying the crimes of the British and American intelligence agencies—crimes which have been well known for a very long time (especially since Snowden), but which the culprits believed the world could be induced to forget.

The “free world vs godless Communism” myth has crumbled, as Trump openly promotes friendship with Russia and China. The lie that “the world is burning up under the industrialized world’s carbon emissions” has been dumped into the “Chicken Little” category of childish fairy tales. The libertarian myth that “freedom” means legalized drugs and unfettered speculation is still alive, but facing its death throes, as Glass-Steagall legislation and a war on drugs are now on the table.

FBI chief James Comey and NSA chief Michael Rogers were brought before the House Intelligence Committee, with some members of Congress intent on getting to the truth behind the lies and hysteria against both Russia and the President. Instead, Comey said he could not answer any such questions, since there were ongoing investigations into both the alleged Russian subversion of the Presidential election and alleged Russian subversive influence over Trump and his campaign. The hearing became a freak show, with several Democrats sounding even more insane than the Joe McCarthy fanatics during Harry Truman’s anti-Communist witch-hunts of the 1950s.

Trump showed that he would not be cowed, by issuing two messages before the opening of the hearing:

  • “James Clapper and others stated that there is no evidence Potus [the President of the United States] colluded with Russia. This story is FAKE NEWS and everyone knows it!” [emphasis in original]
  • “The Democrats made up and pushed the Russian story as an excuse for running a terrible campaign.”

What is missing, and is essential, is what Krafft Ehricke, the genius whose rockets took man to the Moon, called the necessary maturation of the human race. His concept of the Extraterrestrial Imperative, that man is not an earthling and that there are no limits to growth, set a mission for mankind, to go beyond the childhood pastime of mud fights with weapons of war, to lift the human spirit to the stars. This requires the necessary development of the creative powers of all citizens of the world.

Today marks the launching by the LaRouche organization of the “100th Anniversary Week of the Birth of Krafft Ehricke.” Events and video presentations will take place across the U.S. and Europe over the week, including the Monday LaRouche PAC Policy Committee broadcast. This special week is not only to honor Ehricke’s life and works, but to “propagate his beautiful ideas on the future of mankind in the universe.”

Ehricke is famous for his maxim: “It has been said, ‘If God had wanted man to fly, He would have given man wings.’ Today we can say, ‘If God wanted man to become a spacefaring species, He would have given man a Moon.’ ”

But, he added, “Technology is not the solution to all our shortcomings. For that we have to grow, we have to mature—but technology makes it easier.” It was this recognition of the necessity of a cultural transformation of the human society on Earth which drew Ehricke into his close friendship and collaboration with Lyndon LaRouche and his movement. He saw in this movement the necessary effort to link the various civilizations on our planet, all with different philosophic and cultural traditions, to join together in the common endeavor to discover the natural laws of the universe and apply them to the uplifting of the species as a whole.

The new paradigm represented by the New Silk Road does exactly that, creating a community of nations with a common destiny of peace through development. This process is now rapidly spreading throughout the world. With the power of the British Empire greatly weakened, but not yet dead, it is mankind’s urgent task to bring the United States and Europe out from under the power of this rotting corpse, to create the adulthood of mankind.

U.S. POLITICAL AND ECONOMIC

Brits Continue To Rail against Trump, as Their Universe Crumbles

March 20 (EIRNS)—Against the backdrop of a crumbling imperial system of war and globalization, the British continue to scream bloody murder about the “affront” to the good name of the GCHQ (Britain’s communications spy center) spy apparatus, which really has to do with their desperation that the United States is slipping from their grasp under President Trump.

GCHQ has a new boss, current deputy director-general of MI5 Jeremy Fleming, who is expected to hop across the Atlantic as soon as possible to “seek assurances from our partners” that all is well, the London Times reported yesterday. His biggest challenge, the Times writes, will be maintaining GCHQ’s “close working relationship with U.S. intelligence agencies.”

Hysteria? An “informed source” quoted by the Times rants, “I don’t think the rubbish being uttered by the Trump camp will affect the day-to-day operational cooperation between the U.K. and U.S. intelligence agencies, but it will be important to remind our partners that more consideration and respect need to be afforded to the intelligence communities by the Trump administration.” Tut tut.

Revealing is the screed published in the Guardian yesterday by Sir Peter Westmacott, who served as British ambassador in Washington from 2012-2016, and who, in his admiration for Obama—he defends him from any involvement in spying against Trump—liked to say that the U.S. and the U.K. were “joined at the hip” and always “on the same page.” While arguing that the claims of GCHQ spying on Trump were “absurd,” Westmacott admitted that the context for the charges “was unsettling” and that London “was understandably keen to kill off any suggestion, however nonsensical, that British intelligence agencies had been acting against the new President’s interests.”

Westmacott was incensed that Trump failed to seriously answer the question posed to him at his March 17 press conference with Chancellor Angela Merkel, on the allegations against GCHQ, (saying instead that he and Merkel shared the experience of being spied on), and that White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer had denied that any apology to Britain had been made. British press continue to lie that U.S. officials “were forced to make a formal apology” for defaming GCHQ. In their dreams.

The intelligence relationship between Britain and America is “unique and precious,” Westmacott affirms. “Gratuitously damaging it by peddling falsehoods and then doing nothing to set the record straight would be a gift to our enemies they could only dream of.”

Killing Americans by Drugs

March 20 (EIRNS)—So many people in Ohio are dying from opiate-related drug overdoses, that counties are forced to use cold-storage trailers as overflow morgues—as all morgues are full, The Washington Post reported March 16.

And in West Virginia, as the Post reported a week earlier, the soaring number of overdose deaths has completely overwhelmed the state’s indigent burial program, which provides funeral funds for needy families. The program is just about out of money, with four months to go still in the fiscal year. It goes without saying that social service agencies are also completely overwhelmed.

STRATEGIC WAR DANGER

U.S. Military Deployments in Europe Continue

March 20 (EIRNS)—In two separate reports, one March 17 and the second on March 19, Army Times played up the ongoing deployment of U.S. troops in Eastern Europe as part of the U.S. military’s Operation Atlantic Resolve, to “deter” Russia. This includes 4,000 troops from the 3rd Brigade of the 4th Infantry Division, with M1 tanks and Bradley fighting vehicles, 2,100 troops from the 10th Combat Aviation Brigade with 86 helicopters and 900 troops from a combat sustainment support battalion, to keep them all fed, fueled and fixed. These 7,000 troops are added to the 30,000 U.S. troops permanently stationed in Europe. The 7,000 are being apportioned between the Baltic States, Poland and Romania, for a full schedule of training exercises with the host nations and other NATO members. “This is about the United States’ contribution to NATO’s decision to transition from assurance to deterrence,” U.S. Army Europe commander Lt. Gen. Ben Hodges told Army Times.

Simultaneous with but separate from the Atlantic Resolve deployment is the deployment of 900 U.S. troops to lead the NATO battle group in Poland, beginning in April. The U.S.-led battalion will be filled out with 150 British troops and 120 more from Romania. “This is a mission, not a cycle of training events,” U.S. Army Lt. Col. Steven Gventer, who heads the battle group, told a news conference, reports Reuters. “The purpose is to deter aggression in the Baltics and in Poland…. We are fully ready to be lethal.”

Moscow Is the key To Preventing an Israeli-Syrian-Iranian War

March 20 (EIRNS)—In the early morning hours of March 17, four Israeli jets entered Syrian airspace and struck targets in the vicinity of Palmyra, where Syrian troops have been working to clear the region around the ancient Roman ruins of the last vestiges of ISIS. While the Israeli Defense Forces has bombed targets inside Syria on numerous occasions since the beginning of the war in Syria, what was unusual about his incident was both the Syrian air defense response—Syrian air defenses fired at least three missiles at the Israeli jets, and claimed to have shot down one—and the Israeli acknowledgment of the air strike, which they almost never do. The Israelis claimed that they were targeting a convoy carrying weapons to Hezbollah in Lebanon while the Syrian government, along with Hezbollah leader Sheikh Hassan Nasrallah, charged that the Israelis were attacking Syrian army positions in support of ISIS.

Whatever the truth of the claims, the underlying context is the conflict between Israel and Iran with Russia in the middle. The fact that the Syrians responded the way they did, and that Israel has vowed to continue to target weapons flows to Hezbollah, has raised the potential for a new war in Syria, this one between Israel and Iran—not only because of Iranian support to Hezbollah, but also because of the Iranian presence in Syria, which Israel finds intolerable. This development comes as the wars against the jihadis in northern Syria and against ISIS in eastern Syria are reaching an end game.

The only power that is positioned to prevent this new war from happening is Russia, which has good relations with both countries. Syrian President Bashar al Assad said as much in an interview with Russian media today, in Damascus, reported TASS. Assad noted that the Israeli ambassador in Moscow was called to the Russian Foreign Ministry to explain the Israeli violation of Syrian airspace. “So, they can discuss the same issues with the Israelis depending on these criteria [international law],” he said, “and they can play a role in order that Israel not attack Syria again in the future.”

Beyond the summoning of the Israeli ambassador, there’s been no official reaction as of yet from Moscow to the Israeli air strike. Russian political scientist Gevorg Mirzayan told Sputnik on March 18 that with the March 17 air strike, Israel has jeopardized an unwritten Russian-Syrian-Israeli code of conduct, and Moscow’s future position in the Middle East. Mirzayan notes, as have other observers, the unwritten deal between Russia and Israel, that is, that Russia could bomb all the jihadis its aircraft could reach, while Israel would be allowed to bomb Hezbollah convoys in Syria at will. “For a long time, this scheme worked,” Mirzayan said. “But on March 17, it began to glitch up.”

Experts have warned that the conflict sparked Friday is far from over, with both sides now likely only to harden their positions. This problem, according to Mirzayan, is that both sides now believe that the regional and global balance of power is shifting in their favor—Israel because it has a new ally in the White House, and Syria because of its recent string of military victories against ISIS and the jihadis. The problem for Moscow is that a direct Syrian-Israeli conflict “will immediately grow into a conflict of its allies (the United States and Iran, Hezbollah, the Gulf States), and this will destroy Russia’s plans to strengthen its presence in the region after the end of the Syrian war.”

Unlike everybody else involved in the region, Moscow is talking to all the parties to the regional conflicts. Thus, they are able to pursue “triangle” diplomacy between two warring parties as part of their strategy to maintain regional balance.

COLLAPSING WESTERN FINANCIAL SYSTEM

‘Europe’ Is Becoming Irrelevant to the Balkans

March 20 (EIRNS)—The EU and its institutions are rapidly losing their attraction to the Balkans countries. This became all too visible during the March 1-4 tour of the region by EU foreign policy representative Federica Mogherini: Macedonian President Gjorge Ivanov made clear he didn’t think much of her ideas for how to solve the region’s problems. She was booed when she addressed the Serbian parliament, and in Bosnia-Herzegovina the presidents of the three main ethnic groups did not want to talk with her in depth but only met for a formal encounter and photo opportunity. In Kosovo, Mogherini wanted to step in as a mediator of the inter-ethnic conflicts, but these broke out again right after her departure.

China and Russia are the new partners of the Balkans, which have grown disillusioned with the EU’s “Europe,” and even Turkey and some Arab states which have begun to invest in real economic ventures and infrastructure. Arab investors are building an entire new quarter of Serbia’s capital, Belgrade, and Turkish investors play a leading role in the textile sector in southern Serbia. Even in Croatia, which seems to be the region’s most pro-European country at the moment, Russia’s Sberbank may step in to rescue the country’s largest food trading chain Agrokor, which “Europe” is not interested in, although the firm is important for the entire region.

AIIB Offers ‘New Type of Funding’ So That No Country Will Be Left Behind

March 20 (EIRNS)—Speaking at the China Development Forum in Beijing today, Jin Liqun, head of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB), called for improving global economic governance in order to foster “shared benefits and ensure no country is left behind,” China Daily reported.

Jin emphasized that the creation of the AIIB underscored the determination of the founding members to create a new type of funding, to improve regional development and connectivity and to improve the global governance in a multipolar world. “The AIIB is not a clone of existing financial institutions, and we have special features,” he underscored, noting that the AIIB is the first bank of its kind to have developing countries as majority shareholders while not excluding developed countries.

The AIIB director also said that globalization has suffered a setback because of the lack of shared benefits and the sharp polarization “of the haves and have-nots” in the world. He also noted that multilateral development banks and financial institutions are facing the challenge of greater demand for financing with limited resources.

THE NEW GLOBAL ECONOMIC ORDER

The New Silk Road: A True ‘Recipe for Peace’

March 20 (EIRNS)—In an article published in Forbes March 19, author Wade Shepard offers an excellent, detailed description of China’s Belt and Road Initiative, underscoring that the global development proposal put forward by President Xi Jinping in 2013 is truly the new name for peace. Shepard has authored several good articles on this subject, written as he travels through the countries that form part of the New Silk Road.

Under the headline, “Coopetition on the New Silk Road: A Recipe for Peace?” Shepard points to the “emerging network of economic corridors, enhanced transportation routes, logistics zones, ports and manufacturing centers which stretch from China to Europe as part of the New Silk Road.”

Speaking with Shepard about Xi Jinping’s “win-win” concept, Taleh Ziyadov, head of Azerbaijan’s new port of Baku, explains: “This hub concept is going to integrate [more] closely most of these countries, and we are going to want the others to succeed as well. Because if I have good roads, good rail, good ports, and if Turkmenistan or Kazakhstan or Georgia doesn’t have the same quality of roads, railways or ports, then I’m in trouble.”

Shepard quotes Huang Jin of the National University of Singapore, who explained a key dimension to Xi Jinping’s 2014 use of the term ‘Community of the Same Destiny.’ This, he said, is “a new concept of collective security based on joint economic development. This is all that One Belt One Road is about. If there is a political dimension, that dimension is to try to find a new way to avoid confrontation, try to find a new way to avoid division in the international community that we all learned in the Cold War years.”

The New Silk Road, Shepard says, “is a network of mutually supporting endeavors where the success or failure of any one project is dependent on the success or failure of many others.” He quotes Karl Gheysen, first CEO of the Khorgos Gateway dry port on Kazakhstan’s border with China: “From the overall holistic point of view, this is the creation of something new in logistics. This is a new concept, an entire new market. Volumes will be more than sufficient to support all the stakeholders, and instead of competition, this will create even stronger ties, since all projects will become interconnected; and that is what the New Silk Road is all about: interconnectivity.”

Shepard details many of the rail corridors, ports, roads, and other infrastructure projects connecting the countries along the New Economic Silk Road, which stand to benefit mutually from them (instead of competing with each other). Once, he notes, it was unheard of, for one country to invest billions of dollars to build infrastructure in another country, but today this is standard operating procedure.

“These big infrastructure deals are now seen as international ties of ‘friendship,’ binding countries together for the long haul, and serve as a platform for increased political cooperation and trade.”

Syrian Classical Concert Offers Beauty to ‘Overcome the Cruelty of War’

March 20 (EIRNS)—At the Damascus Opera Theater yesterday, the Syrian National Symphony Orchestra held a Classical music concert entitled “Generations,” described by conductor Missak Baghboudarian as an effort to bring older experienced musicians together with younger ones for the purpose of honoring the expertise and contributions of the veterans, and to “prepare the young generation to represent their country in the future.”

Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA) reported that among the younger performers was 25-year-old clarinetist Jerjes al-Abdullah, who has lived outside of Syria for six years. He told SANA he had returned to Syria “full of fears and deep concern over the war taking place in the country.” The concert, he said, is to “help the audience overcome the cruelty of war and encourage musicians to visit and participate in concerts in Syria, a land of amity and peace.” He performed Carl Maria von Weber’s Concerto No. 2 for clarinet and orchestra.

International pianist, Professor Ghazwan al-Zarkali, who performed with the orchestra a piece by Russian composer Dmitri Shostakovich, explained that the concert “conveys a message that, despite the current war and difficult circumstances in Syria the ‘Will of Life’ has won over death and stressed the Syrians’ ability to build educated and well-qualified generations.” Al-Zarkali has taught music in several countries and represented Syria in more than 27 countries around the world.

The Syrian orchestra was founded in 1993, SANA reported, and, since its founding, “has spared no effort to spread the culture of music in Syria,” improving the performance of its musicians so as “to represent the homeland in international circles and delight the audience with international musical masterpieces.”

The Syrian National Symphony Orchestra under conductor Baghboudarian’s baton was among those who performed at a second concert at Palmyra, on May 6, 2016, for the Syrian families of those lost in the fighting in Syria, titled “Gate of the Sun,” and aired in full by RT.  The previous afternoon, Russia’s Mariinsky Theater Symphony Orchestra performed a Classical concert, “Pray for Palmyra,” in the restored ancient amphitheater.

China Is the Biggest Foreign Creator of African Jobs

March 20 (EIRNS)—China has created close to 30,000 jobs in Africa over the last two years, more than any other country in the world. “China ranks 7th in terms of project numbers in Africa, but it created the most jobs, which is unexpected by many people,” Jeremy Stevens, economist at Standard Bank Group, told Xinhua on the sidelines of an economic forum in Nairobi.

Stevens said most jobs come from China’s greenfield investment by private sector, as opposed to their huge investments in infrastructure projects. He attributed the job creation to China’s investment strategy as well as its willingness to hire local people. “On one hand, Chinese [manufacturing] investment in Africa is mainly in labor-intensive industry; on the other hand, most African countries see employment as their top priority, which Chinese companies are willing to cooperate in,” he explained.

A World Bank report comes to a similar conclusion: “Contrary to the popular belief that Chinese companies only hire Chinese workers, 93% of companies report hiring Kenyan employees.”

At the second summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation held in December 2015 in Johannesburg, South Africa, China announced 10 major plans to boost cooperation with Africa in the coming three years, in industrialization, agricultural modernization, infrastructure and financial services, among others. To ensure smooth implementation of the initiatives, China also announced $60 billion in funding support in the form of preferential loans, export credit on more favorable terms, interest-free loans, and free aid.

Soros’s Revolution Beat to the Punch in Bulgaria

March 20 (EIRNS)—The forces of George Soros have been outed in a new book, Robbers of Democracy, in Bulgaria. Knowing that the color revolution forces allied with Soros could and would move quickly to stifle the book, the patriots had to move quickly. So, they chose to give it away, along with the morning Telegraph paper, owned by “media mogul Delyan Peevski.”

According to the March 16 account by Organized Crime and Corruption Reporting Project, by the time the exposed forces of “Yes, Bulgaria!” political party could enforce an injunction against the book’s distribution, they discovered that there were no books left to confiscate, because they had all been snatched up so quickly!

Among the book’s revelations is that “protesters from the massive 2013 anti-government demonstrations and non-governmental organizations [were] funded by Soros’s Open Society Foundation and America for Bulgaria.” Also exposed is the role of “prominent Bulgarian analyst and New York Times columnist” Ivan Krastev, who is accused of participating in Soros’s “political engineering” at the international level.

Telegraph has announced that it will be publishing a second free book on March 20 detailing what it claims happened during Bulgaria’s transition.”
