I’m a Marine combat vet. 8 years, 3 tours in Afghanistan. I was on the strip that night. Me and a buddy were walking south from The Luxor towards Mandalay Bay when we heard it kick off. He’s also a vet and it took a few seconds for us to believe what we were hearing. We got down behind a little concrete planter and immediately began looking for the source. It sounded like it was coming from above and behind us, from The Luxor. We thought it was some kind of gang shootout but after a couple minutes we were like, what the actual f is going on. There were multiple, repeat multiple full-auto weapons going. At least one, and I believe two SAW’s, and at least one other one, that had a deeper voice, but I do t have a clue what it might have been. They were almost in stereo at our position which was roughly midway between the two hotels. And it’s obvious on the videos, esp the one with the cab driver in it. You can hear it, plain as day. Due to the angle of Mandalay, all we could see was the north side of the building. “Paddock” was firing from the opposite side. There is NO way we could have heard that like we did if the official story is true. And unless he’s Inspector F’ing Gadget, no way he was firing multiple weapons from multiple positions. I don’t know what happened, maybe helicopters? Makes sense. We never thought to look up cuz we thought it was some street-level gang bs. What I do know is that the BS they said happened, ain’t what happened. When they dropped the “AR with a bump-stock” story, I knew then that we would likely never know the truth.
