Actor & Actress You May Want to Boycott as Neither Has A Moral Compass

đź’¸ While Gaza Starves, Leonardo DiCaprio Is Building a 14-Story Luxury Hotel in Israel

Hollywood silence is one thing. But Leonardo DiCaprio is actively profiting from apartheid during a genocide. The hotel was just approved.

While Gaza starves, Leonardo DiCaprio is building a luxury hotel in Israel.

The world has watched at least 60,000 Palestinians be slaughtered.
Thousands more starved.
Entire family trees wiped out.
Every major human rights organization on earth now says it:
This is genocide.

And in the middle of it all — Hollywood’s golden boy is getting into the Israeli hotel business. It’s so gross. And this man presents himself as caring about human rights?

The facts:

Leonardo DiCaprio is an owner in a newly approved luxury hotel in Herzliya Marina, Israel — built in partnership with:

  • Hagag Group (an Israeli real estate firm), and
  • Developers Ahikam and Lior Cohen

And now — in July 2025, while Gaza lies in ruins — it’s been fully approved by the Tel Aviv District Planning and Building Committee.

Here’s what they’re building:

  • A 14-floor beachfront hotel
  • 365 rooms
  • 51,000 square meters of luxury development
  • Plus 8,000m² of underground parking

All on stolen land.
All in the heart of the apartheid state.

This isn’t neutral.

DiCaprio isn’t “just investing.” He’s:

  • Partnering with Israeli developers during an active genocide
  • Building luxury while Palestinians in Gaza can’t even access clean water
  • Profiting off tourism in a country that’s bombing schools, bakeries, mosques, and refugee camps
  • Whitewashing the fact that the nation he is partnering with is literal led by men charged with war crimes by the International Criminal Court.

And he’s doing it while saying nothing about Gaza. Nothing about the siege. Nothing about the death toll.

The man who built his reputation on climate justice, human rights, and speaking truth to power — has chosen silence when it mattered most.

Gaza is being starved. And Hollywood is cashing in.

This is not just about Leo.

It’s about the deep moral rot in Western celebrity culture.
They’ll wear pins. March for climate. Post about voting. They’ll put on dashikis and take a knee.
But when children are starving — when women are bleeding out in tents — when an entire people is being erased in real time — they look away.

DiCaprio’s silence isn’t just disappointing — it’s dangerous.

It sends a signal:

You can invest in Israel.
You can profit off genocide.
And no one in Hollywood will call you out.

Not your colleagues.
Not the press.
Not the brands.

But we see it. And we will say it.

You can’t claim to care about human rights while investing in apartheid.
You can’t post about justice while helping Israel whitewash its crimes.
You can’t stand on a stage thanking the Earth and the poor while staying silent about a government that’s dropping U.S.-made bombs on babies.

Leonardo DiCaprio, you have a choice:
Divest. Speak. Act. Or be complicit.

Yes, the business decisions of entertainers matters to me.

This man is building a luxury hotel in a country led by people charged with war crimes. Gaza needs food. Water. Aid. Safety. Life.

And what the world needs is moral clarity — especially from those with power.

Because when the massacres finally stop — and they will — we will remember who profited while Palestinians bled.

Open Letter to Actress Sharon Stone

Actress Sharon Stone at a press conference with Shimon Peres in Tel Aviv 8 March 2006 (MaanNews/Moti Milrod)

20 March 2006Dear Ms. Stone,

In an interview with the Israeli paper Ha’aretz you stated that your visit to Israel did not imply taking sides. “I am not for or against one side,” you insisted, adding: “When my children fight, I don’t choose any side, either. I love them equally.” Your comments reveal a surprising level of naivete and a basic lack of understanding of the context. In a situation of undisputed colonial oppression, when you are not “for or against” either side, you are essentially on the side of the oppressor and a supporter, perhaps an unwitting one, of the status quo of colonial domination and oppression. Israel and the Palestinians are not exactly two equal parties engaged in some silly quarrel where it is hard, if not pointless, to place the blame. Even if you decided to ignore all that and deal “fairly” with both sides, how can you explain the exclusion of one “side” from your itinerary?

Israel is recognized by the United Nations and the absolute majority of nations across the world as a repressive occupying power that maintains illegal colonies in the occupied Palestinian territory (OPT), violates international law, UN resolutions and basic human rights of the Palestinian people. These are not abstract notions, at least not to us. Israel denies millions of Palestinian refugees their internationally recognized right to return to their lands; it is building settlements and a monstrous Wall, both of which were declared illegal by the International Court of Justice; it is destroying Palestinian homes; it is killing Palestinian children with impunity; it is uprooting hundreds of thousands of Palestinian trees; and its ubiquitous roadblocks are imprisoning Palestinian civilians, denying them access to health care, schools and jobs. Moreover, Israel maintains a system of racial discrimination against its own Palestinian citizens reminiscent of South African apartheid. These injustices, among others, have been well documented by leading human rights organizations such as Amnesty International, Human Rights Watch, Physicians for Human Rights and B’Tselem.

Your leisurely visit to Israel at a time when it is escalating its violent oppression of the Palestinians to unprecedented levels is most unwelcome. It ignores the Palestinian civil society’s Call for Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS), a non-violent and morally sound call intended to bring about Israel’s compliance with international law and its respect for Palestinian rights. No matter what “peace” project you claim to be supporting, your celebration of your birthday in a country whose name has become synonymous with injustice is a stone’s throw away from collusion in perpetuating this injustice.

Ms. Stone, peace without justice, as our universal basic instincts tell us, is not peace at all. It is submission to injustice. The best way you could sincerely promote peace here is by having the moral courage to speak out against Israel’s occupation, Wall and denial of our basic rights. Wouldn’t you have done that in any similar situation elsewhere?
