My last several years prior to retirement, I worked the hospice unit at a VA Hospital. I saw this with my own eyes, two other RN’s will confirm what we witnessed, a big black demon taking the soul of one at passing. It was so horrifying, none of us wanted to go back in to provide postmortem care and collect the body. The look of terror etched on his face was life-changing.

He only came in a couple weeks before. He was very mean spirited. Maybe drugs or something, he was huge guy, very unkept with long unkept hair and a long beard. Most people warm up to us and most become friendly and warm, especially towards the end. But not this guy. No family ever visited that I am aware of.
