Doja Cat has sparked a debate about the direction of her new music after appearing as the devil in her Demons music video.

The Grammy-winning artist marked her anticipated comeback by debuting the visuals for the track on Friday, with Addams Family star Christina Ricci making a cameo.

However, the discourse has centred around the satanic imagery in the video with Doja transforming into a devilish creature with horns and scaly skin. It follows Christina playing a matriarch who moves into a new home with her family only to find that it’s being haunted by Doja.

It comes after Doja, 27, received criticism for the Paint The Town Red music video, which was released last month and features her singing about being the devil and a ‘demon lord.’

Reacting the Demons visuals, one X user said: ‘I like Doja and all but I can’t get behind this demonic s**t she’s doing.’

One critic agreed: ‘I used to love Doja but all the demonic s**t she’s pulling ain’t ittttt.’

‘At some point we gotta have a conversation about Doja Cat very disturbing at this point,’ one stated.

Another wrote: ‘Not watching that doja video or listening to that song hunni i don’t need demonic spirits.’
