In Leaked Audio, Julian Assange Warns Clinton State Department Lawyer About Cables Stolen From WikiLeaksPosted: 16 Dec 2020 09:20 AM PSTLeaked audio obtained by Project Veritas reveals that in 2011, WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange warned the Hillary Clinton-led State Department that a rogue employee had stolen a trove of classified cables from the whistleblower organization and was about to release it.Assange told State Department attorney Cliff Johnson that WikiLeaks had planned to release the cables with sensitive information redacted, and expressed concern over endangering people by what he believed to be a reckless release.“Yes, so the situation is that we have intelligence that the State Department Database Archive of 250,000 diplomatic cables including declassified cables is being spread around and is to the degree that we believe that within the next few days it will become public,” said Assange, adding “We’re not sure but the timing could be imminently or within the next few days to a week and there may be some possibility to stop it.”State Department attorney Cliff Johnson: “Who would be releasing these cables? Is this WikiLeaks?”Julian Assange: “No, we would not be releasing them–this is Daniel Domscheit-Berg, a previous employee that we suspended last August.”Johnson: “And he apparently has access to the material that Wikileaks also has?”Assange: “Yes. That’s correct.”Johnson: “And he has access to everything you have is that right?”Assange: “That’s correct.”Johnson: “OK. And that includes classified as well as the unclassified cables.”Assange: “That’s correct.”Listen to part of the 75-minute conversation:BREAKING: @Project_Veritas Obtains Recording Of Call Between @Wikileaks Founder Julian Assange & Lawyer In Hillary Clinton’s State Dept.Warns US Government Trouble Was Coming Their Way With Unredacted Release Of Classified Cables Stolen From Wikileaks pic.twitter.com/hx5u2fSzuC— James O’Keefe (@JamesOKeefeIII) December 16, 2020“The thing that stands out throughout this tape is that over and over again, Assange expresses his concern for the people endangered by what he believes to be a reckless release—like when he told Johnson: ‘In case there are any individuals who haven’t been warned that they should be warned.’,” said Veritas founder James O’Keefe – adding “Political pressure is building for President Donald Trump to pardon Assange at the end of his first term and this tape goes a long way to rebooting how he has been portrayed.”State Department attorney thanks assange (more via Project Veritas):Although Assange said to the attorney, he did not actually control the classified information, he did have the encryption key to unlock the materials and he knew where on the web it was being held.“The material, there is an encrypted version of the materials on the web somewhere, that we do not control,” Assange said. “One doesn’t actually need to convey the material itself, one only needs to convey the location of the material, and its encryption key.”With Assange’s help, the journalist said he believed the U.S. government with its resources could corral the information in time to prevent its release or to even eliminate the files covertly.“If there is another possibility which is the taking down of those files, that is a degree of research and effort that we do not have the capacity to do,” he said. “There are not so many of them.”Cliff Johnson: “And, you know all the locations of them, do you think?”Julian Assange: “We know several and it’s probably not that hard to find the others.”Johnson: “Can you provide us with that location information?”Assange: “I can encourage other people to do so.”Johnson: “Right. I appreciate what you’ve told us Mr. Assange.”Assange’s work with Manning made him a fugitive from American justiceThe Australian-born journalist has been targeted by the U.S. government since 2011, when he partnered with Pvt. Chelsea Manning, an Army intelligence specialist, to release documents and videos Manning downloaded from Army computers.Manning pleaded guilty to violating the Espionage Act and the Computer Fraud and Abuse Act and accepted a 35-year sentence.President Barack Obama commuted Manning’s sentence to time served, roughly seven years, Jan. 17, 2017—three days before the end of his term. For many years, Assange was holed up in the Ecuador’s embassy in London, until he was turned out in 2019, and then apprehended by British officials acting in concert with the U.S. government. The day he was arrested by British officials, April 11, 2019, the Justice Department unsealed its indictment of Assange charging him with conspiracy to commit computer intrusion, or hacking. The conspiracy charge carries a maximum of five years in prison and stems from Assuage offering Manning help cracking a government password.Journalists have broad privilege to publish classified or otherwise illegally obtained information, only if they do not participate in the acquisition.Assange remains in British incarceration awaiting his January hearing where it will be decided if the United Kingdom will extradite the WikiLeaks founder to the United States.* * *Entire recording below:Republished from ZeroHedge.com with permissionThe post In Leaked Audio, Julian Assange Warns Clinton State Department Lawyer About Cables Stolen From WikiLeaks appeared first on We Are Change. |
Mapped: Millions of Americans Are at Risk of Eviction and Foreclosure in the Next Two MonthsPosted: 16 Dec 2020 09:07 AM PSTAlongside potential obstacles such as job loss, financial insecurity, and a subsequent inability to cover many upcoming bills, Visual Capitalist’s Avery Koop notes that many Americans are now facing potential home loss as well.According to a recent survey by the U.S. Census Bureau, of the estimated 17 million adults who are not current on their rent or mortgage payments, a whopping 33% of them could be facing eviction or foreclosure in the “next two months.”Note: While this survey was conducted Nov 11-23, 2020, respondents’ interpretations of “the next two months” ranged between Nov 2020–Jan 2021.Millions Facing Home LossAlthough people across the country face similar risks, Texas stands out with an estimated 718,000 people facing foreclosures or eviction. In fact, more than 7.1 million people in the state may be expecting a loss of employment income in the coming four weeks.Other states looking at high percentages of potential home loss include Louisiana, New Mexico, Mississippi, Wyoming, and Missouri. To get a closer look, here are the top 10 metro areas with the highest percentages of people who will potentially be facing eviction or foreclosure:Home for the Holidays? On the other end of the spectrum, there are states that appear to have less need for concern, as the percentage of people likely to experience foreclosure or eviction in these places stands between 15% and 20%. However, this level of relative home security is the case for only Delaware, Vermont, Maryland, and Utah.Everyone else is floating in a proverbial gray area, between a majority who may still be in their same home after Christmas, and those who may need to find a new place in the months following the holidays.Even in the states with extremely low percentages like Delaware (15%), there are still thousands people who are highly likely to face the possibility of losing their home.Going ForwardIt goes without saying that with nearly 17 million Americans behind on mortgage and rent payments, there could be significant consequences down the road.In an order issued by the CDC under the Public Health Service Act, it was stated that an eviction moratorium could help with the effectiveness of COVID-19 prevention measures like quarantining, social distancing, and self-isolation. However, while evictions were temporarily halted under this order on September 4th, the extent of this protection runs out on the last day of 2020.President-elect Joe Biden expressed his desire for measures such as rent forgiveness back in March 2020, but it remains unclear what actions will be taken under the new administration when inauguration occurs on January 20th, 2021.Republished from ZeroHedge.com with permissionThe post Mapped: Millions of Americans Are at Risk of Eviction and Foreclosure in the Next Two Months appeared first on We Are Change. |
Fashion Mogul Peter Nygård Arrested in Canada on Sex Trafficking ChargesPosted: 16 Dec 2020 08:42 AM PST79-year-old fashion mogul Peter Nygård has been arrested and charged with sex trafficking. Nygård was a close friend of Jeffrey Epstein, and has also been accused of victimizing dozens of people independently of his involvement with Epstein. Nygård reportedly had his own private island in the Bahamas where he groomed and abused many of his victims.According to Manhattan prosecutor Audrey Strauss Nygård has been using his wealth and position in the fashion industry to “recruit and maintain” victims in the US, Canada and the Bahamas. Nygård allegedly had a criminal network similar to Epstein’s in which he exploited both underage girls and young women, then sold them off to his wealthy friends. In many cases, Nygård and his friends drugged their victims. They also specifically targeted victims from disadvantaged backgrounds who were less difficult to isolate from their families or friends.According to the indictment Nygård’s company hosted “Pamper Parties” at his properties in Marina del Rey in California and the Bahamas, where many of the victims were forced to engage in sexual activity with his wealthy associates. He also waged a relentless intimidation campaign against any of the victims who went public with accusations against him, threatening to sue them, destroy their reputations, and even have them arrested.Earlier this year, 10 women filed a lawsuit against Nygård, accusing him of luring them into his trafficking network by promising them money and modeling opportunities. Some of the plaintiffs in the lawsuit say that they were only 14 or 15 years old when they were drugged and abused by Nygård.Peter Nygard’s eldest son says he is relieved his father is in custody. Brittany Greenslade reports. pic.twitter.com/FMA45s0hPq— Global Winnipeg (@globalwinnipeg) December 16, 2020The lawsuit also claims that the victims would have their passports taken once they were flown to the Bahamas, which would allow him to control when they left. He also allegedly expected a sex act from his victims before they were allowed to leave his estate and go anywhere.Less than two weeks after the lawsuit was filed, Nygård’s offices in New York were raided by police.Nygård has continued to deny all of the allegations against him even as evidence continues to mount.A spokesman for Nygård said earlier this year he was stepping down as chairman of Nygård companies and would divest his ownership interest. His current net worth is estimated at $900 million.Nygård has been accused of sexual assault numerous times throughout his career. His first major accusation came in 1980, when he was accused of raping an 18-year-old girl in Winnipeg. However, those charges were later dropped because the girl refused to testify. It was later claimed in a lawsuit that Nygård used funds from his companies to pay her off.In 2005, the Finnish newspaper Iltalehti published an article about sex parties at Nygård’s mansion, and featured a short interview with actress Jessica Alba where she said she had to leave a party at the mansion because she was so uncomfortable with what was taking place. She mentioned the presence of young girls at the party as well. Nygård sued the parent company of the paper Alma Media for slander in Los Angeles but lost the case. The 79-year old fashion mogul was arrested by RCMP in Manitoba on Monday night. Peter Nygard could face extradition to the United States, where he faces charges relating to sexual assault and racketeering. New York Police to Deploy Robotic Dog to “Save Lives, Protect People” and Combat CriminalsPosted: 15 Dec 2020 08:12 PM PSTAccording to ABC7 in New York, the New York Police Department (NYPD) is set to receive a new Boston Dynamics robot dog with special features, including an arm to open doors and move objects.“This dog is going to save lives, protect people, and protect officers and that’s our goal,” NYPD Technical Assistance Response Unit Inspector (TARU) Frank Digiacomo told ABC7.Dubbed “Digidog,” the Boston Dynamics robot weighs 70 pounds and is able to move at a maximum 3 mph.Digidog’s new tricks are shown in the video below:“This robot is able to use its artificial intelligence to navigate things, very complex environments,” NYPD TARU’s Deepu John said. This is the department’s only robot dog, and during the latest testing phase, it has been used a few times in the field. The existence of the robot came to light in late October after it assisted in a suspect’s arrest in Brooklyn. This particular robot model, known as Spot, has been put to work in other applications this year, including work on an oil rig, nuclear power plant, car plant, and military base.Digidog is capable of two-way communication and could also be used by NYPD to enforce mask-wearing – this was seen earlier this year in Singapore.Republished from ZeroHedge.com with permissionThe post New York Police to Deploy Robotic Dog to “Save Lives, Protect People” and Combat Criminals appeared first on We Are Change. |
Joe Biden Was Warned in 2015 That Hunter Biden’s New Employer and Burisma Boss Was CorruptPosted: 15 Dec 2020 01:55 PM PSTIn today’s episode of ‘Things that should have come out during the impeachment,’ just-released diplomatic memos reveal that Vice President Joe Biden’s office was warned in 2015 that the Ukrainian oligarch who hired his son, Hunter, was deemed corrupt – and that the US Justice Department had gathered evidence to support that conclusion, according to Just The News.“I assume all have the DoJ background on Zlochevsky,” wrote former US Ambassador Geoffrey Pyatt in Kiev in a 2015 letter to Biden’s top advisers, referring to Burisma Holdings founder Mykola Zlochevsky.“The short unclas version (in non lawyer language) is that US and UK were cooperating on a case to seize his corrupt assets overseas (which had passed through the US),” Pyatt added, noting that the asset forfeiture case against the Ukrainian billionaire “fell apart” when individuals in the Ukrainian prosecutor general’s office “acted to thwart the UK case.”Talking pointsPyatt’s email also includes responses to several talking points Joe Biden’s Washington staff crafted, should he be questioned about Hunter’s role on the board of Burisma.“Have you asked Hunter to step down from the board? Has he discussed that with you?” the talking points anticipated being asked.“I’m not going to discuss private conversations with my family. Hunter is a private citizen and does independent work,” the memo recommended the vice president answer. If pressed by a question asking whether Joe Biden thought “Zlochevsky is corrupt,” the talking points suggested the vice president respond, “I’m not going to get into naming names or accusing individuals.” –Just The NewsAs JTN notes, the New York Times published an article days after Pyatt’s email suggesting that Hunter’s role at Burisma while it remained under a corruption investigation was potentially undercutting US anti-corruption policy.“Separately, a Russian-backed media outlet in Ukraine had written an even more scathing expose on what it called the “Ukrainian scam of the Biden family.” That article sent State officials scrambling to develop messaging for the U.S. government,” according to Just The News. The memos, released last week by Senate committees investigating Hunter Biden, also reveal that the US Justice Department was involved in the 2014 asset forfeiture brought against Zlochevsky in the UK, right as Hunter Biden was hired to sit on the board of Burisma.Multiple State officials have attested to the awkward appearance of conflict of interest posed by Hunter’s position on the board as the United States led efforts to fight corruption in Ukraine. In a September, 2015 speech, Pyatt railed against Ukrainian prosecutors for thwarting the UK asset forfeiture case against Zlochevsky.Pyatt was recently deposed by investigators for the Senate Finance Committee and the Senate Homeland Security and Government Affairs Committee about the Ukraine controversy. Though his staff had reported an alleged Burisma bribe and believed the Bidens’ conduct in Ukraine created an apparent conflict, Pyatt said he never felt compelled to raise such concerns with the vice president.“So you never gave thought of raising a concern to the Vice President about this board position his son had?” a Senate investigator asked Pyatt during the deposition back in September.“No,” the ambassador answered. “He’s the Vice President of the United States, and it would have been wildly out of place for me to raise something like that, especially insofar as it had zero impact on the work that I was doing.” –Just The NewsMeanwhile, let’s not forget that according to evidence from Hunter Biden’s laptop published by the New York Post, Biden didn’t just know about his son’s business dealings in Ukraine and elsewhere, he participated in them. And Democrats impeached Trump for asking Ukraine to investigate.Republished from ZeroHedge.com with permissionThe post Joe Biden Was Warned in 2015 That Hunter Biden’s New Employer and Burisma Boss Was Corrupt appeared first on We Are Change. |
