Why We Fight: A Patriot’s Guide Through Day Four of Impeachment

Jan. 23 (EIRNS)—On Friday, January 24th, it is said we will see the end of the Democrats’ initial presentation concerning the impeachment of the President of the United States. They have droned on and on and on with the idea that repetition, and treating the television audience watching like children at story hour, will somehow win the day in the Senate of the United States. On Saturday, Jan. 25, the President’s team will begin to present his defense. (See “Assault on the U.S. President,” below, for the five biggest lies of the first four days.)

As we have repeatedly emphasized, these proceedings are the latest chapter in the full-spectrum information warfare conducted against the U.S. population ever since 63 million Americans shocked the world by electing Donald Trump President in Nov. 8, 2016. A similar shock was delivered in Britain that same year, when the British people voted to reinstate the sovereignty of their nation, withdraw from the European Union, and to reject the globalist regimes which have impoverished the world.

At the center of the Democrats’ case now, is the claim that Trump won by “cheating” in 2016 (i.e., the Russians hacked the DNC, resulting in WikiLeaks presenting truthful information about Hillary Clinton) and Trump, unless impeached, will “cheat” again. Never mind that no evidence has been presented, ever, to substantiate any Russian hack of the DNC. In fact, the actual evidence points to a leak by persons or elements unknown.

Whether you consider yourself pro-Trump or anti-Trump, you are the target of this psychological warfare operation, begun with ruthless and reckless abandon in November 2016. That operation has created the disease popularly known as “Trump derangement syndrome,” which now threatens to destroy the Constitution of the United States and render the nation itself a balkanized mess of red versus blue states not seen since the Confederacy and the Civil War. In fact, that is the intent of those running this operation, the same oligarchical force behind the Civil War which sought to swallow the United States, once again absorbing it into the British Empire.

The once-great party of John F. Kennedy and Franklin D. Roosevelt has become a debating club about gender identities and reparations, subversion through local control of national policies and laws, drug legalization, Green fascism, and, above all, a self-imposed virtue-signaling and thought-police culture which destroys the ability to create and think.

Cities where Democrats reign are becoming ungovernable, with exploding homeless and addict populations, and housing which is unaffordable, except for the upper middle classes and very wealthy, who live in gated and walled-off communities. Decriminalization of theft and other so-called minor crimes, and unsanitary conditions, are unleashing an epidemic of violence and disease. For the election, Sir Mike Bloomberg, on behalf of the City of London and Wall Street, is buying up any remaining Democratic constituency leader whom George Soros and Tom Steyer have not already bought.

Is it any wonder, then, that articles of impeachment have been drafted which specify no crime? The whole operation serves to endlessly hobble the President by parliamentary votes of no confidence, engineered by the ability of private banking and other interests to manipulate popular opinion.

Into this comes President Trump’s flank in Davos. In the midst of his trial in the U.S. Senate, he flew to Switzerland and made a speech to the gathered world elites about the standards for economic progress. He walked, calmly, into the lion’s den, speaking to many who are the authors of the coup against his Presidency, and presented an economic address which echoed central themes of Lyndon LaRouche.

First, Trump attacked thecorrosive pessimism embodied in the apocalyptic warnings of the Green New Deal and similar programs. He touted technological and scientific optimism and the creativity of a nation’s working classes as the engine of economic progress. This is what LaRouche had called the “power of labor,” and what Alexander Hamilton, Henry Carey, Abraham Lincoln, and Franklin Roosevelt called the American System of political economy. The President had referenced the American System repeatedly in his campaign.

At Davos, he said the well-being of workers had to be the center of any sovereign economic policy, the means to measure economic progress. He told the story of the 15th century building of the cupola of Florence’s famous Duomo, a 140-year journey in design and execution in which workers and geniuses collaborated to discover completely new laws of nature in the course of creating one of history’s most beautiful and inspiring cathedrals. They had no idea of whether and how they would succeed, when they started this grand project. Dedicate yourself to unleashing that Renaissance spirit in your populations, he told them, and anything is possible.

It’s our job to make the economic metric the President proposed at Davos, reviving the actual American System of political economy, and the cultural optimism he underlined as the heart of this process, a reality, starting now. This is the means to right the ship of state.

THE NEW GLOBAL ECONOMIC ORDER

Putin Repeats Call for Summit of Five UN Founding Members at 75th Anniversary of Auschwitz Liberation

Jan. 23 (EIRNS)—Russian President Vladimir Putin today partly echoed Schiller Institute President Helga Zepp-LaRouche’s Jan. 3 call for an emergency summit of the heads of state of the United States, Russia and China.

Speaking today at the Fifth World Holocaust Forum in Jerusalem, commemorating the 75th anniversary of the Red Army liberation of Auschwitz, Putin again proposed a meeting of the leaders of the permanent members of the UN Security Council. He said: “I think an example could and should be set by the founding countries of the United Nations, the five powers that bear special responsibility for the preservation of civilization. We have discussed this with several of our colleagues and … have received a generally positive response to holding a meeting of the heads of state of the five permanent members of the UN Security Council: Russia, China, the United States, France and Britain. We can hold it in any country, in any place that our colleagues would find convenient. Russia is ready for such a serious discussion. We intend to send this proposal to the leaders of the Five without delay….

“A summit by the countries that made the chief contribution to the defeat of the aggressor and creation of the post-war world system would play an enormous role in the search for collective answers to the modern challenges and, of course, would demonstrate the common commitment to the spirit of alliance, historical memory and the high ideals and values which our ancestors, our grandfathers and fathers fought for shoulder to shoulder.” His full remarks are available on the President’s Kremlin website.

Presidential Candidate Tulsi Gabbard Wants Summit of U.S., Russia and China

Jan. 23 (EIRNS)—Rep. Tulsi Gabbard, who is a Democratic presidential pre-candidate, today tweeted: “#DoomsdayClock My personal commitment to you is that on the first day of my presidency, I will contact the leaders of China and Russia to set up a summit to end the new cold war and nuclear arms race, which will inevitably result in a nuclear holocaust.”

U.S. and China Are Closer Now with Trade Pact, but EU May Challenge Them at WTO

Jan. 23 (EIRNS)—President Donald Trump wrote yesterday in a tweet that the just-signed trade deal will bring the U.S. and China closer in many ways: “One of the many great things about our just signed giant Trade Deal with China is that it will bring both the USA & China closer together in so many other ways. Terrific working with President Xi, a man who truly loves his country. Much more to come!”

One example of this closer cooperation is that the U.S.-China Civil Space Dialogue will meet this spring for the first time since 2017, as we reported in the EIR Daily Alert on Jan. 22, to seek cooperation in space exploration while not violating the pernicious Wolf Amendment, which seeks to prevent both countries from such advances.

From Europe comes opposition to the U.S.-China deal. Speaking at Center for Strategic and International Studies in Washington on Jan. 16, the day after the agreement was signed, EU Trade Commissioner Phil Hogan said that the EU will consider challenging the pact’s compliance with WTO rules. (British writers have frequently complained that the deal was concluded totally outside of the WTO, an outfit President Trump detests.) Hogan also whined that the agreement’s dispute-settlement provisions favor China.

U.S. POLITICAL AND ECONOMIC

Italians Respond to Trump’s Davos Speech on the Dome in Florence

Jan. 23 (EIRNS)—President Trump’s reference to Santa Maria del Fiore Cathedral and Brunelleschi’s cupola in Florence, which the President referred to alternatively as “the Duomo” and “the Dome,” in his Jan. 21 address to the World Economic Forum in Davos, had a predictably large echo in Italy. All media highlighted it in their reports, with the usual polarization.

Former Prime Minister and former Florence Mayor Matteo Renzi tweeted: “Today in Davos President Trump mentioned #Firenze and the construction of its Cathedral as a model of great projects, dreams and ambitions. Proud to represent, in the Italian Parliament, the most beautiful city in the world.”

LaRouche activist Flavio Tabanelli produced a YouTube video posted on MoviSol, the Italian LaRouche movement website, juxtaposing a quote from Trump to an image of the Italian translation LaRouche’s book The Science of Christian Economy, that features the Cupola on its cover. The video clip shows Lyndon LaRouche at a July 21, 2011 webcast, explaining Brunelleschi’s genius in using the catenary for construction of the Cupola, followed in turn by a videoclip of Trump’s remarks in Davos. (See “Trump ha letto LaRouche! Trump e la cupola di Brunelleschi del Duomo di Firenze.”)

Tabanelli provided a copy of the video to the “Opera di Santa Maria del Fiore,” the company set up in 1296 to oversee the construction of the Cathedral and which has existed since then, taking care of maintaining all the buildings in Santa Maria del Fiore. In the accompanying message, Flavio wrote that “Trump’s speech echoes American economist Lyndon LaRouche’s frequent references to Brunelleschi’s revolutionary work. The Science of Christian Economy is one among the economic texts written by Lyndon LaRouche which is available in Italian. It is a fundamental work that aims at reconciling morality and science to rebuild the basis of human existence currently usurped by free-marketeers, speculators and Malthusian oligarchs.”

The head of communications for the Opera thanked Tabanelli for “this precious information that clarifies where Trump took inspiration from, for his speech on the Florence Dome and Brunelleschi.” She then invited him to join this year’s celebrations of the 600th anniversary of the beginning of construction of the Cupola.

Will Trump Cut Social Security or Medicare? Don’t Believe It!

Jan. 23 (EIRNS)—President Trump is being charged in the media and partisan circles with planning to cut Medicare and Social Security, based on a Jan. 22 exchange with in a CNBC interview during his Davos trip. Those who know him better know that is not the case, and are waiting for explanations from the White House:

Joe Kernen: Entitlements ever be on your plate?

President Trump: At some point they will be. We have tremendous growth. We’re going to have tremendous growth. This next year I— it’ll be toward the end of the year. The growth is going to be incredible. And at the right time, we will take a look at that. You know, that’s actually the easiest of all things, if you look, cause it’s such a—

Joe Kernen: If you’re willing—

President Trump: —big percentage.

Joe Kernen:—to do some of the things that you said you wouldn’t do in the past, though, in terms of Medicare—

President Trump: Well, we’re going— we’re going to look. We also have— assets that we’ve never had. I mean we’ve never had growth like this. We never had a consumer that was taking in, through— different means, over $10,000 a family. We never had the kind of— the kind of things that we have….

STRATEGIC WAR DANGER

Bring Peace to Libya with Infrastructure, and Make It Africa’s Gateway to Europe

Jan. 23 (EIRNS)—The recent Moscow and Berlin conferences on the Libyan conflict have created hope that the Sarkozy-Obama-Cameron nine-year war that has ravaged Libya will soon come to an end. The fact that Russian President Vladimir Putin has decided to personally take the issue in hand goes a long way to assuring success of the effort. But real assured success will come when Russia, China and the United States, dragging Europe behind them, move jointly by offering direct aid in the reconstruction and development of the Libyan economy. The fact that the country has not suffered the massive destruction that Syria has, and can draw on its oil resources, will make a reconstruction effort proceed much more quickly.

There is one issue the two warring sides share in common, and that is to restart the infrastructure projects which were underway prior to the regime change war forced on the country. At the center of those infrastructure projects was the construction of a railway network that could form the missing key link to an East-West corridor and Maghreb Railway along the Mediterranean coast stretching from Alexandria, Egypt, to Casablanca, Morocco. And from Tripoli to Chad and Niger, southward all the way to Cape Town, South Africa. By 2011, this project was fully underway in Libya and involved the China Railway Construction Corp. and Russian Railways, which were building the lines, while the U.S. General Electric Co. was contracted tosupply locomotives, and Italy’s Finmeccanica was contracted to supply the signaling equipment. (In addition to that, the 2009 Italy-Libya Friendship Treaty included the construction of a coastal highway as part of reparation for Italy’s colonialist past.)

A detailed report on the railway program can be found in “Libyan Railway: A Gateway to Europe,” by Dr. Rajab Abdullah Hokoma and Dr. S.P. Bindra. This extremely optimistic paper was published in 2010, just months before the war broke out, strongly suggesting that the project was one of the main reasons for targeting the country. The plan was to construct a 3,170 km standard gauge network, for which the section between Ras Edjar, on the Tunisian border, to Sirte via Tripoli, would have been completed by 2012, had the war not broken out. China Railway Construction Corp. had been in the process of building 352 km of that section stretching from Sirte to El Khoms. Russian Railways had already conducted a feasibility study and signed a contract to build the line from Sirte, east to Benghazi in 2008. Another 800 km line was to be built from the iron ore deposits at Wadi Shati, near Sebha in the south of the country to the steel mill at the coastal port city of Misurata.

The authors of the paper write that these rail lines were to be part of a “Grand Design” for an African-wide network. Libya was in discussions to extend the Libyan rail network south into Niger and Chad. Such a development would contribute immensely to the construction of the Transaqua project to build a canal from the Congo basin and refill Lake Chad.

In 2019, Abdul Hadi al-Hweij, Foreign Minister of the Benghazi-based Parliament and Interim Cabinet, attended the Africa Summit hosted in Moscow, at which he requested Russia take up the completion of the $2.2 billion Sirte-Benghazi railway project. Earlier, a high-level delegation from the Tripoli-based Government of National Accord (GNA) led by Economy and Industry Minister Nasir Shaglan, travelled to Moscow in October, 2018, to meet with the leadership of Russian Railways on the completion of the Benghazi and Sirte line, despite the fact that the GNA did not have control over this territory.

General Electric had signed contracts in 2007 for 15 locomotives, which were never delivered. Last September GE signed a binding Memorandum of Understanding with the GNA to strengthen Libya’s power sector by adding up to 6 GW of power over the next five years, with up to 2 GW expected to be added by 2020. According to a statement by the American Embassy, the MOU is an important part of ongoing U.S. efforts to reinforce U.S.-Libya economic cooperation and promote Libya’s economic recovery for the benefit of all Libyans.

While there have been no public statements so far on CRCC restarting its rail project, China already has a foot in the door with the delivery earlier this month of the first batch of 35 Chinese-manufactured buses arriving in Tripoli.

The prospect of China’s Belt and Road initiative entering Libya along with Russian, American and Italian and other European companies could rapidly reconstruct the country and making it into a keystone for the development of the entire region as a “Gateway” to Europe. China is already deeply involved in building railways in neighboring Tunisia and Algeria.

COLLAPSING WESTERN FINANCIAL SYSTEM

Present and Previous IMF Chiefs Demand It’s Zero and Negative Rates Forever, or Else

Jan. 23 (EIRNS)—The present and former Managing Directors of the IMF both used press appearances today to pronounce that the hyperspeculative regime of zero or negative central bank interest rates and QE, is the only alternative—they hope it is one—to failure of the whole financial system.

At Davos, the current IMF Managing Director Kristalina Georgieva, in an interview with Bloomberg, announced that in the fourth quarter of 2019 alone, a total of 41 central banks had lowered interest rates 71 times, and that this had created “some breathing room” after the IMF, going into that fourth quarter, had considered the global financial situation “precarious” in her words. Georgieva looked forward to more of this. She said, “ ‘lower for longer’ is now firmly the policy” everywhere.

To the inevitable, puffball “gee, but there’s a lot of debt” questions from the cringing Bloomberg reporters, Georgieva made the inevitable, puffball response that “lower for longer” means “high search for yield” and therefore “high risk.” But in order to forget this unpleasantness, she looked forward to “green investment providing plenty of space for fiscal impact.” In other words, governments using “climate taxes” and adding more debt to the everything bubble in order to fund Green New Deal boondoggles, can get the banking systems through.

Meanwhile, former IMF Managing Director and new European Central Bank President Christine Lagarde announced after the ECB’s policy meeting: “We decided to keep the key ECB interest rates unchanged. We expect them to remain at their present or lower levels until…” and then a string of conditions which have not appeared over the past 11 years in Europe, and will not appear in any future ruled over by these oligarchs, so “at their present, or lower levels, indefinitely.” She said: “We will continue to make net purchases under our asset purchase program (APP) at a monthly pace of €20 billion. We expect them to run for as long as necessary to reinforce the accommodative impact of our policy rates, and to end shortly before we start raising the key ECB interest rates.

“We also intend to continue reinvesting, in full, the principal payments from maturing securities purchased under the APP for an extended period of time past the date when we start raising the key ECB interest rates…” i.e., indefinitely.

German Farmers Enraged at EU Regulation on Nitrate Fertilizer Use

Jan. 23 (EIRNS)—Backed by allegedly “alarming” data from measuring nitrate concentrations in the soil, the EU and the German government intend to decree a 20% cut in farmers’ use of nitrate in fertilizing. Farmers oppose the data as “orchestrated” and “not reflecting reality in the agricultural sphere.” With the proposed 20% cut, and with the additional plan to ban all fertilizing of fields for the crops “between seasons,” the soil will not be prepared for the growing seasons, and therefore “efficient farming will not be possible,” farmers and agriculture experts warn. Furthermore, farmers’ existence would be threatened by such decrees. They point out that farms already have very restricted use of nitrate, therefore the campaign alleging farmers are “poisoners of the soil” is a slander of farm sector. The nitrate issue has been one of the main protests in the tractorcade demonstrations in recent weeks. Protesting farmers have also placed green crosses in many fields, warning against the elimination of agriculture, along with evening bonfire vigils.

Prince Charles Lectures the World at Davos

Jan. 23 (EIRNS)—In an exclusive interview Prince Charles with CNN in Davos yesterday, he delivered a heavy dose of climate doomsday propaganda, saying: “We can’t go on like this, with every month another record in temperatures being broken. If we leave it too long, and we have done, just growing things is going to become difficult.”

Charles argued for the global business and finance elites to lead a “paradigm shift, one that inspires action at revolutionary levels and pace” to avert what he termed a climate catastrophe. “Do we want to go down in history as the people who did nothing to bring the world back from the brink in time to restore the balance when we could have done? I don’t want to. And just think for a moment—what good is all the extra wealth in the world, gained from ‘business as usual,’ if you can do nothing with it except watch it burn in catastrophic conditions?”

Charles also met Greta Thunberg, and called her “remarkable.” He told CNN, “She represents one of the main reasons why I’ve been trying to make all this effort all these years.” He worries, if “we leave things too late, so you have to hit a brick wall and experience a catastrophe before anything happens.”

He outlined a 10-point plan to put the so-called natural world at the heart of the business world. “Nature’s contribution to the global economy is estimated to be worth $125 trillion annually….” He also announced that he would be convening a series of discussions across a range of industries with innovators, investors and decision-makers to form a global alliance and mobilize trillions of dollars to put the economy on what he considers “the correct path.”

SCIENCE AND INFRASTRUCTURE

A U.S. Rocket Will Soon Take Astronauts to ISS for the First Time Since 2011

Jan. 23 (EIRNS)—SpaceX’s Falcon 9 rocket and its Crew Dragon capsule passed their last unmanned test on Jan. 19, to begin carrying astronauts to the International Space Station, as EIR Daily Alert reported Jan. 21.  SpaceX founder and Chief Engineer Elon Musk says his company will have another rocket and capsule ready by the end of March, and he expects that his first demonstration crewed flight will launch to the ISS between April and June, depending on NASA’s schedule, Popular Science reported yesterday.

The current schedule of Boeing’s entry for the same mission, the Starliner, is somewhat behind SpaceX. NASA intends to use both. Once the U.S. commercial crew capsules are operational, NASA and Russia will share rides to the ISS without exchanging money, according to “Spaceflight Now.”

ASSAULT ON THE U.S. PRESIDENT

The Five Biggest Lies in the First Four Days of the Senate Impeachment Trial

Jan. 23 (EIRNS)—Here are the five biggest and important lies which have emerged in the impeachment trial against President Donald Trump to date and which will continue as the Democrats weave their “narrative” through Jan. 24, and Republicans, so far at least, “deflect,” rather than telling the whole truth.

(1) The President compromised national security by withholding aid to Ukraine. In reality, the President was correct in his initial position of not wanting to have anything to do with Ukraine. Everyone who testified that the President compromised national security by withholding aid, even for a few weeks, is a fanatic who is courting war with Russia and China on behalf of entrenched, incompetent, and delusional banking and other elites.

(2) The President denied aid to an ally in time of war against the Russians, and we have to fight the Russians in Ukraine so that we don’t have to fight them here. Ukraine is not yet a member of NATO, although those testifying against the President in this impeachment proceeding are hell-bent on bringing that about, despite warnings that this represents an existential threat to Russia on its western border. The Russians never “invaded” Eastern Ukraine and are not there now. The problem in Eastern Ukraine is a civil war, caused by the determination of the neo-Nazis, brought to power in the coup the Obama Administration conducted, to ethnically cleanse the area of any pro-Russian sentiment—an area which is, historically, Russian. The 15,000 casualties cited by the Jacobin Democrats in their presentations are products of this ethnic cleansing operation.

This nonsense is part of a continuing drive to prevent Trump from collaborating with Presidents Vladimir Putin and Xi Jinping to ease tensions in the world, particularly in the world’s hot spots, such as Southwest Asia, and to establish a new financial architecture for the world, serving large-scale economic development. That is what Russiagate and the current drive to demonize China have been about.

(3) The “scandal” about the Bidens in Ukraine is solely about Hunter Biden’s role in the Ukrainian gas company, Burisma, and Joe Biden’s role in getting his son’s putative prosecutor fired. That is only a minuscule portion of it. Barack Obama and Joe Biden and Victoria Nuland and John Brennan and Christopher Steele and other components of British and NATO intelligence, and the Ukrainian World Congress, the Ukrainian Congressional Committee of America and various Ukrainian officials, all illegally sought to defeat Donald Trump, the candidate, by smearing him as a Russian agent. They then proceeded to instigate the ongoing coup against the President. They were all, also, up to their ears in the 2014 coup or color revolution in Ukraine which brought actual neo-Nazis into power, under U.S. and British sponsorship. They are using the “whole of nation” information warfare operations first employed in the 2014 Ukraine coup and subsequent civil war, to make Donald Trump a hated and reviled figure to be deposed in a “bloodless” revolution.

Joe Biden was the modern-day viceroy of this operation. Some of the mass shooters who have inflicted terror, subsequently, throughout the world, trained with the neo-Nazi Azov Battalion financed by Ukrainian oligarch Ihor Kolomoisky, who also simply stole millions of dollars in U.S. aid through a scheme in his PrivatBank, the actual owner of Burisma. Kolomoisky played a huge role in President Volodymyr Zelensky’s rise to power. That is what President Trump is referring to in the famous July 25th phone call, when he says that he understands Zelensky is surrounded by corrupt people.

(4) The President did something wrong. As the President says, read the transcript of the July 25th call. What Rep. Adam Schiff and others are saying is that Trump speaks in coded language and his plain words do not mean what they say. Schiff’s narrative is a bizarre, self-feeding conspiracy theory in which reality is simply subverted, in favor of derogatory and deliberately inflammatory Manichean tropes and memes. The constant barrage and absorption of the products of this information warfare campaign, induces a state of infantile rage in its consumers, a cartoon-like distorted version of reality in which profound satisfaction is gained from simply rooting for the “good guys.”

(5)  The public is entitled to hear more facts and witnesses, and anything less is a coverup. The coverup is, in reality, about how and why this entire bogus proceeding came about. During thenational nightmare of the Mueller inquiry, the President waived executive privilege and turned over millions of documents voluntarily, even allowing the White House counsel to be interviewed. Mueller came up empty, opening the way to a clear shot at investigating those responsible for the illegal attempt to prevent Donald Trump’s election and the ongoing coup against him. Ukrainegate began the day after Mueller flopped in his testimony to Congress.

A big part of understanding the operations against Trump, and the Presidency itself, lies in what happened in Ukraine from 2014 forward. Ukrainegate, at a minimum, is designed to ensure that that history remains completely hidden from the public.

The Senate Judiciary Committee should launch an immediate effort to declassify all documents pertaining to the Ukraine coup and subsequent efforts to subvert the Trump candidacy and presidency. A key aspect of this is obtaining testimony from the so-called whistleblower, whose complaint started Ukrainegate, and key Resist members associated with Congressman Adam Schiff.

The whistleblower was on Joe Biden’s staff during the Ukraine coup and in its aftermath. He stayed on in the Trump National Security Council. He openly bragged, along with a close associate on the NSC, that he was going to find a way to “take the President out” as far back as 2017. That associate, together with the whistleblower and key individuals from the Obama Justice Department’s National Security Division—up to their ears in the Russiagate hoax—fabricated Ukrainegate. Two of the whistleblower’s former NSC associates, others involved in the Russiagate hoax, and the head of the DOJ’s National Security Division as the Russiagate hoax was spawned, now work for Adam Schiff. Intelligence Community Inspector General Michael Atkinson, who kicked off Ukrainegate by crediting the bogus whistleblower’s complaint, is the former counsel to Mary McCord, who headed the DOJ National Security Division and now works for Schiff.
