Spread the True Ukraine Story behind Coup vs. President Trump; Stop Hong Kong ‘Maidan’ vs. China

Nov. 23 (EIRNS)—One week into the impeachment media circus against Donald Trump, whose goal is to carry out a coup d’état against the elected President of the United States, the battle lines are emerging clearly. There is a total war between two, diametrically opposite “narratives” about the strategic situation and the Trump Presidency, Helga Zepp-LaRouche emphasized yesterday. Our job is to hit the coup operation on its weak flank, by exposing the truth of the Ukraine matter: That the British Empire and the Obama Administration—emphatically including Vice President Joe Biden and his son Hunter—orchestrated a Nazi coup d’état in Ukraine in early 2014, the “Maidan revolution,” both to destroy that country and to threaten the very existence of Russia as a sovereign nation.

When Russia responded to defend itself, and Crimea voted to return to being a part of Russia, that was then used to set into motion the chain of events including economic sanctions, further expansion of NATO eastwards to Russia’s borders, and other attacks on Russia, that have made it next to impossible for President Donald Trump to develop a good working relationship with that country, which is his stated goal.

Earlier this week, two members of Ukraine’s Verkhovna Rada, Deputies Andriy Derkach and Oleksandr Dubinsky publicly presented further revelations about the sordid Nazi coup, including accusations that the $16.5 million reportedly paid to Hunter Biden by Burisma energy company, was itself money that had been stolen by Burisma owner Mykola Zlochevsky from the Ukrainian people. That story, whose details remain to be confirmed by independent investigation, has been frenetically blacked out of the U.S. and international media—including shutting down Twitter accounts that dared to report the matter—lest the story break the intended controlled environment of media brainwashing of the American people during the impeachment circus.

Now the British and their American allies have launched a similar violent “Maidan revolution” in Hong Kong, this time to force China to intervene to defend its essential, strategic interests in a way that can then be used to further drive a wedge between President Xi Jinping and President Trump. As an editorial in the semi-official Global Times stated yesterday, Hong Kong faces a threat to be “erased from the modern world,” which would constitute an existential threat to China itself and will not be tolerated.

Into this fast-moving strategic situation, in which the trans-Atlantic financial system is disintegrating and the fate of future generations is being decided in the coming weeks and months, Executive Intelligence Review has announced the publication of its new strategic pamphlet to expose the anti-China hysteria as part of the coup attempt against President Trump. The 24-page pamphlet, “End the McCarthyite Witch Hunt Against China and President Trump” is available on the EIR website, and it presents the LaRouche policy alternative to the war and economic collapse which the bankrupt British Empire is otherwise imposing on the planet.

President Donald Trump, Bring Justice to the World: Exonerate Lyndon LaRouche

Nov. 23 (EIRNS)—By acclamation, over 300 participants from more than 30 countries on all six continents, who attended the Nov. 16-17, 2019 Schiller Institute conference in Bad Soden, Germany, “The Future of Humanity as a Creative Species in the Universe,” issued the following call:

“In unique moments of history, a single decisive action can evoke justice for an entire era, for all nations. The universal poet of freedom Friedrich Schiller, in his masterpiece Don Carlos, had the Marquis of Posa urge King Philip to ‘become among a million kings, a king,’ and bring justice to the Netherlands and all Europe.

“President Trump, the time has come to posthumously exonerate Lyndon H. LaRouche, who was railroaded and unjustly incarcerated from 1989-1994. This is needed both to bring justice for the man, and justice for his ideas. Each and all our nations, especially our future generations, need unfettered access to his unique discoveries in physical economy; to his contributions to classical culture and physical science; to his policies for great infrastructure projects and economic development—access that can only come from ending the decades of slanders and vilification, which only exoneration can provide.

“The great, existential crises facing our nations and the world, and the unique contributions which the ideas of LaRouche can make to their solution, bestirs us to call for the urgent exoneration of Lyndon LaRouche.”

Desperate Media Cover Up Ukrainian Deputies’ New Revelations, Exposing Burisma and Biden

Nov. 22 (EIRNS)—New revelations published as the result of a Nov. 20 press conference by Deputies of Ukraine’s Verkhovna, Rada Andriy Derkach and Oleksandr Dubinsky, in which they alleged that Hunter Biden received $16.5 million from the Burisma firm, and that that money itself was stolen from the Ukrainian people, prompted a panicked response in American media to black out their charges.

According to NBC, the first U.S. accounts of the story appeared on Zero Hedge, with over 10,000 users engaging with them on Facebook on this story, “which was shared to dozens of pages that totaled more than 3 million followers.” The Daily Beast reported Nov. 21 that “right-wing Twitter feeds in the U.S.” covered the story, “until Twitter suspended one of the sites pushing that fake news, and others quickly deleted their posts.” NBC insisted the charges were “a misleading claim,” and an “incorrect story seizing on some truthful elements while wildly extrapolating others to offer conservatives and Trump loyalists a welcome alternative to the day’s news” on the impeachment front.

Fiona Hill used her cameo appearance on Capitol Hill to explain that “a fictional narrative” of Ukrainian interference in the 2016 elections was being pushed. And Atlantic Council senior fellow Anders Aslund was trotted out to say that the two Ukrainian lawmakers were “not credible…. These two both are professional disinformers. Anybody who’s anybody knows about these two. They are not credible.”

If Impeached, Trump Wants Senate Trial, and He Has His Witness List Ready

Nov. 22 (EIRNS)—President Donald Trump told the “Fox and Friends” broadcast this morning that if the House votes to impeach him, “I want a trial.” He wants Hunter Biden to be called to testify, and the whistleblower, but there is only one person he wants more to testify than Biden, he said, “and that is Adam Schiff…. I want to see Adam Schiff testify about the whistleblower.” He explained that Schiff had made up a statement about the President’s July 25 phone call with the President of Ukraine, and “I want to find out: Why did he make up my statement?”

Trump was in fine, feisty form in his hour-long interview. He is looking forward to the release of the report by Justice Department Inspector General Michael Horowitz, followed by the report from “Bull Durham” (i.e., U.S. Attorney John Durham) into Russiagate, which he predicts “will be perhaps the biggest scandal in the history of our country…. This was an overthrow attempt at the Presidency. They tried to overthrow the Presidency…. It’s just starting to come out, but I think this is nothing compared to what you’ll see over the next couple of weeks,” he forecasted.

Discussing the terrible witnesses testifying against him in the House inquiry, whom he does not even know, President Trump summarized the war in Washington:

“I come to Washington. So you’ve had Bush, and you have never-Trumpers. So you have Bush, you have Clinton, you have Obama, so you have 24 years of people in positions, right? Then I come in with no experience, which is a good thing. But I know life. And I come in and I end up with thousands of people that are never-Trumpers, Clinton people; and sometimes the never-Trumpers are worse than Clinton and Obama people, believe me. I mean, it’s an amazing phenomenon….

“With no experience, I come to Washington. I’ve defeated the Clinton dynasty. I’ve defeated the Bush dynasty, and I’ve defeated the Obama whatever-you-want-to-call-it, right? The three biggest. I defeated them all at one time with no experience. The hatred is incredible.”

Giuliani on the Warpath, Seeks Visas for Ukrainian Witnesses of Joe Biden’s Corruption

Nov. 24 (EIRNS)—President Donald Trump’s personal lawyer, Rudy Giuliani, sent an explosive letter to Sen. Lindsey Graham two days ago, requesting his assistance in securing visas for three Ukrainians, who are “ready, willing and able to come to the United States and inform us of the corruption, election interference and other crimes Americans committed in Ukraine in 2016.” The three, whose names he offered to provide the Senator’s staff, “have direct (non-hearsay) evidence of Democrat criminal conspiracy with Ukrainians to prevent Donald J. Trump from being President.”

That includes “oral, documentary, and recorded evidence of the Biden Family’s involvement in bribery, money laundering, Hobbs Act extortion, and other possible crimes. They do not seek anonymity, like the disappearing informant. They desire a visa and it will not be granted by Ambassador Bill Taylor’s embassy in Kiev,” Giuliani wrote.

“It is my duty, as the President’s personal counsel, in order to defend my client against another set of false charges, to bring these exigencies [and] circumstances to your attention. Although I understand the reluctance of the Senate to hold hearings in the past … the Senate now has an additional duty to protect the office of the Presidency from the damage predicted by Alexander Hamilton, from an impeachment becoming entirely partisan. Our constitutional balance is under attack by partisans not trying to do justice or follow the constitution, but to remove a President who they know they cannot defeat in an election less than a year away.”

Giuliani also offered to provide Graham’s office the identity of a former United States Attorney who had received information from Ukrainian witnesses of this corruption in 2018, to which no one would listen.

Giuliani continued: “The allegations against Biden are highly credible…. The conduct, if true, is corruption at the highest levels of both the American and Ukrainian governments. President Trump was fully justified and legally obligated in requesting this important investigation, of very serious criminal allegations, because no one else had the courage to do so. And he has the ultimate responsibility to take care that the laws are faithfully executed” under the U.S. Constitution.

Taking nothing for granted, Giuliani told Fox News on Nov. 23, that “they’re going to try to kill me,” for exposing Biden. Biden sounded like a “poor imitation of ‘The Godfather’…. He’s been lying all his life. Every place that Joe Biden was a point man … the Biden family came away with millions.”

After that interview, Giuliani warned in a tweet warning that if he should disappear, “the files in my safe about the Biden Family’s 4 decade monetizing of his office … will appear immediately.”

Rep. Debbie Dingell Warns Democrats, Trump Could Win Michigan Again, and Re-election, Too

Nov. 22 (EIRNS)—Michigan Democrat Rep. Debbie Dingell told the Yahoo News Skullduggery podcast on Nov. 15 that President Donald Trump could take Michigan again in 2020, despite the impeachment drive (which she is duly supporting). Skullduggery host Michael Isikoff said her warning was “notable,” given that she is one of the few Democrats who, in 2016, had forecast that Hillary Clinton was heading to a loss.

“I do think Donald Trump could win reelection right now,” she told her hosts, while cautioning that she doesn’t “think it’s a given, since the outcome depends on whom Democrats select as their 2020 nominee.”

Judging by what she heard from Michiganders during the GM strike, she said the support she encountered in 2016 for Trump has not changed much. “I walked the picket line every weekend while I was home, while the GM strike was going on. And there were members who were walking those picket lines who were voting for Donald Trump again, and they were very open about it.”

“We did a terrible job” in 2016 talking about issues that connect with her constituents, she commented. “I’m point blank about this. Said it right after the election, too. Said it before, nobody listened. We got to talk about issues that matter to working men and women across this country. You know, sometimes we forget about what those core issues are. And most voters don’t want a lot. They want somebody to care about them. They want to be able to get a job, have a job, hold a job. They want to be able to live in a safe neighborhood.  They want to be able to educate their kids. They want to be able to afford food—and if they’re sick, to be able to go to the doctor. And they want to have a safe and secure retirement.”

STRATEGIC WAR DANGER

Hong Kong Municipal Elections Take Place in Relative Calm, with Very High Voter Turnout

Nov. 24 (EIRNS)—The final results of the Hong Kong municipal elections are not known at this time, but they occurred under conditions of relative calm, and with a record-breaking 71.2% voter turnout. Leaders of the Maidan-style violent demonstrations a few days ago insisted on a suspension of violence so that the elections could proceed, since they hope to increase their representation on Hong Kong’s district council. The government also deployed police and other forces to ensure that voting could proceed.

According to BBC and other media, a record 4.1 million people registered to vote, more than half the population of 7.4 million, and of them, 71.2% cast their ballots. Leaders of the protest movement were claiming early advances, while making it clear that they intend to resume their violent war against China in short order. USA Today wrote that “pro-democracy activist Tommy Cheung and student activist Lester Shum were among the early winners. Cheung described the results as a ‘tsunami.’ ”

If Trump Signs ‘Democracy Act,’ Hong Kong Could Be ‘Erased from Modern World,’ Warns Editorial

Nov. 22 (EIRNS)—The Hong Kong Human Rights and Democracy Act, which was passed by both houses of the U.S. Congress earlier this week, and is now before President Donald Trump for signature, constitutes an existential threat to Hong Kong, which would be “erased from the modern world,” the semi-official Chinese daily Global Times reported yesterday. The escalating violence in Hong Kong, encouraged by this act and others is a fundamental threat to China which requires intervention by the mainland, even if this means damaging U.S.-China relations.

“Once the bill is signed by the U.S. President, subtle changes will take place in Hong Kong’s international business environment, because of the uncertainties caused by the U.S. American investors in Hong Kong will panic, and the city’s geoeconomic status and function will be reevaluated. Some may expect this to deter Beijing. Such thinking is naïve. Hong Kong is in a mess, but the country hasn’t intervened so far. Instead, the Chinese central government encourages the city to stop violence and end chaos under the leadership of the HKSAR [Hong Kong Special Administrative Region] government, solve the conundrum under the framework of the Basic Law and not use the provisions of the Basic Law for emergency situations.”

The editorial continued with a stark warning: “However, if the chaos continues, even paralyzes the city and destroys ordinary people’s lives, how can the central government not intervene? Passing the act is the U.S. attempt to disrupt the People’s Republic of China’s governance over Hong Kong, weaken the HKSAR government, and compel the police to be afraid of cracking down on radical rioters in accordance with the law. The U.S. is hoping that Hong Kong falls into disorder for a long time. If we take this U.S. bill seriously and shrink from tackling riots, Hong Kong will suffer from an accelerated collapse of the rule of law and be erased from the modern world….

“If riots continue, Hong Kong is doomed. The threat from the U.S. is much less than the damage the city is currently suffering.”

Trump Defends Xi Jinping, Argues China Should Resolve Hong Kong Itself

Nov. 22 (EIRNS)—President Donald Trump, toward the end of a nearly hour-long telephone interview on “Fox and Friends” this morning, was asked if he would sign the Hong Kong Human Rights and Democracy Act, and “stand up for Hong Kong.”

Although he didn’t say if he would be signing the act or not, Trump made clear his own view, and poked at the hysteria around Hong Kong:

“That’s a complicated factor. If it weren’t for me, Hong Kong would have been obliterated in 14 minutes. He [Chinese President Xi Jinping] has got a million soldiers standing outside Hong Kong that are not going in only because I asked him, ‘Please don’t do that. You’ll be making a big mistake, it’s going to have a tremendous negative impact on the trade deal.’ And he wants to make a trade deal….

“I stand with Hong Kong, but I also stand with President Xi. He’s a friend of mine, he’s an incredible guy. We have to stand, but I’d like to see them work it out, OK? We have to see them work it out. I stand for Hong Kong, I stand for freedom, I stand for all those things we want to do. But we are also in the process of making the largest trade deal in history. If we can do that, that will be great. China wants it, we want it. And if it weren’t for me, thousands of people would have been killed in Hong Kong and you wouldn’t have any riots, you’d have a police state. The only reason he’s not going in is because I told him it would affect our trade deal.”

Project Democracy Takes Aim at China at Halifax International Security Conference

Nov. 24 (EIRNS)—The Halifax International Security Forum, convened in Halifax, Nova Scotia yesterday and, in the best traditions of the American neo-con mindset, is taking aim at China. Canadian Defense Minister Harjit Sajjan tried to play this down in his welcoming remarks Nov. 22. “Some of the things that China from a security perspective has been doing is concerning, and we need to be mindful of that,” the National Post quoted him as saying. “But it’s only through the appropriate discussions that we are able to get back into a rules-based order.”

This is not the view of Peter Van Praagh, president of the forum, who countered that China can be characterized in a variety of ways, including as a strategic competitor and adversary. “I think it’s clear that China and Canada do not share the same interests,” Van Praagh demanded. “There is some intermingling on some issues, but China has a very different view of the world than Canada’s view of the world.”

Van Praagh further announced the forum would conduct a year-long initiative focused on China, that would involve consulting with subject experts to produce a strategy paper for release at next year’s gathering, just after the U.S. presidential elections.  “It’s no longer a secret that Xi Jinping’s China is working hard to make the world safe for authoritarianism. It is time for a comprehensive China strategy for the United States, Canada and their allies—one that makes the world safe for democracy,” he said in a Nov. 22 statement.

Van Praagh is a dyed-in-the-wool Project Democracy operative. His biography posted on the Halifax Forum website states he has previously served as Senior Director for Foreign Policy at the Washington-based German Marshall Fund, as Deputy Vice President of Programs at the National Endowment for Democracy, and as Chief of Party for the National Democratic Institute (one of the pillars of the NED), in both the former Soviet Union and in Turkey.

The Washington Post’s Josh Rogin, in a Nov. 21 column datelined Hanoi, described the Halifax Forum as co-founded by “the late, great Sen. John McCain, who believed that a community of democracies was needed to defend the rights of not only Americans but also people throughout the world, struggling for dignity and freedom against dictatorships like the one presided over by the Chinese Communist Party.” That’s the same John McCain who never saw a war or a terrorist he didn’t like, so long as it was directed at regime change against a government he deemed “undemocratic.”

Lest anyone think that Russia has been forgotten in the rush to condemn China, former Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko, whose neo-Nazi regime was massively voted out in April, addressed the conference on Nov. 24, arguing for Ukraine to join NATO and, as the Halifax website wrote, “warning from the frontlines of the Russia conflict, ‘Don’t let Putin divide us.’ ”

Putin Instructs Russia Security Council, Our Task Is To Continue Developing Our Military Potential

Nov. 23 (EIRNS)—Russian President Vladimir Putin convened the Russian Federation Security Council, yesterday, and focused his remarks on the continued development of the Russian military establishment, in the context of a complex security environment that still presents threats to Russia.  “Technology is developing rapidly, including military technology, while competition and rivalry are growing stronger and morphing into new forms,” he said, according to the transcript posted on the Kremlin website. “There are old, smoldering conflicts in various regions of the planet, and new ones keep appearing. The leading countries are actively developing their offensive weapons. I would like to add that the so-called ‘nuclear club’ is receiving new members, as you well know. We are also seriously concerned about the NATO infrastructure approaching our borders, as well as the attempts to militarize outer space.

“A significant blow to the weapons control system was the U.S. withdrawal from the Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces Treaty under a far-fetched pretext. The threat of proliferation of such missiles in various parts of the world has aggravated tension even more,” Putin continued. “In these conditions, it is important to make adequate and accurate forecasts, analyze the possible changes in the global situation, and to use the forecasts and conclusions to develop our military potential.”

Putin then pointed to the progress that has been made in the development of Russia’s armed forces over the past six years. The share of modern equipment in the armed forces is now 68%. The operation in Syria, Putin said “was a serious professional test for our military.” The experience gained there “is needed today in the military building and during the annual exercises and unplanned inspections.”

Turning to the future, Putin said that “Our task for the next decade is to continue strengthening and developing the military, technical and personnel potential of the country’s defense industry.” He highlighted a number of points on this, to include balanced development of military industry and management improvements in it. He also called for the increase in the proportion of modern weapons to 70%, and even higher in the strategic nuclear forces.

THE NEW GLOBAL ECONOMIC ORDER

China Increases Coal-Fired Power Generation at Home and Abroad, and Turns Greens Blue

Nov. 22 (EIRNS)—China has increased coal-fired power generation by 42.9 GW in 18 months, according to Britain’s Guardian. This compares with a reduction by 8 GW in the 18 months up to June in other countries through closing down old plants faster than building new ones.

Christine Shearer, with the Global Energy Monitor NGO, who co-authored a 17-page offprint, “Out of Step China Is Driving the Continued Growth of the Global Coal Fleet,” complained: “China’s proposed coal expansion is so far out of alignment with the Paris agreement that it would put the necessary reductions in coal power out of reach, even if every other country were to completely eliminate its coal fleet.” Shearer is Program Director for Coal at Global Energy Monitor (GEM); her co-authors, Aiqun Yu is GEM China Researcher; and Ted Nace is GEM Executive Director.

China has 147 GW of coal plants under construction, or under suspension and likely to be revived, GEM says. This is more than all existing coal plants in the EU combined and almost 50% higher than the 105 GW of capacity planned in the rest of the world.

She is also upset that China is helping to finance a quarter of the new coal projects in the rest of the world, including in South Africa, Pakistan, and Bangladesh, in effect backing more than half of all global coal power capacity under development. (Bronx cheer to Michael Bloomberg.)

Global Energy Monitor, founded in 2008 as “CoalSwarm,” is a project of the Earth Island Institute; it changed its name in 2018 and got 501(c)3 tax-exempt status; its funding comes from such friends of human extinction as ClimateWorks Foundation; European Climate Foundation; Natural Resources Defense Council; Rockefeller Brothers Fund; Rockefeller Family Fund; and Sierra Club Foundation.

COLLAPSING WESTERN FINANCIAL SYSTEM

China Cracks Down on Cryptocurrency Trading

Nov. 23 (EIRNS)—Chinese banking authorities have started a crackdown on a burgeoning cryptocurrency trading, which is banned in the country. Comments by President Xi Jinping in favor of the development of blockchain earlier last month sent signals to some that the cryptocurrency gambit would be fair game, in spite of a September 2017 ban on cryptocurrencies and clear statements by the People’s Bank of China Governor after President Xi’s speech that cryptocurrencies would not be legal in China. All the first-tier cities—Beijing, Shanghai, and Shenzhen—issued risk alerts to the public, warning of illegal fundraising, financial frauds, or pyramid selling, and have moved to shut down the use of offshore platforms for trading in cryptocurrencies. According to China Securities Journal, the government has already shut down six onshore virtual currency trading platforms, disposed of another 203 platforms linked to overseas servers and closed nearly 10,000 payment accounts, as well as about 300 WeChat marketing accounts.
