Terrifying Bible prophecy predicts destruction of Damascus will spark end of the world
A BIBLICAL prophecy claims the world will end once Syria’s capital city Damascus is destroyed, it can be revealed.

Bone-chilling scriptures found in verses of the books of Isaiah, Revelation and Jeremiah foresee armageddon raging in the Middle East following a huge war – leading to the deaths of two billion people.
Writings suggest Damascus – one of the world’s oldest cities – will be flattened in a battle involving Russia and the west.
The stark outlook has never been more prevalent after Israel vowed to eliminate Syrian president Bahar al-Assad if he continues to let Iran operate from the country.
The threat from Israel’s energy minister Yuval Steinitz sparked fears of an imminent conflict in the Middle East.
al-Assad is an ally of Russian president Vladimir Putin and any potential military action could risk his wrath.
It means war fears rage as Israel, Iran, Syria, Turkey and the West all square up to one another.PROMOTED STORY
Earlier this year and last year, US President Donald Trump launched airstrikes on al-Assad’s Syrian regime.

In April, western allies were forced into action after an alleged chemical assault on the rebel-held town of Douma killed 45 people and injured hundreds of others.
Last year, Trump launched attacks on the country came after the Syrian government was blamed for a devastating chemical gas attack carried out on its people, killing nearly 80.
Russia spoke out condemning the strike – leading to the lowest level of trust between east and west in generations.
Now it’s feared mankind could be heading to a flashpoint in history – and it’s all in the Bible.

“Behold, Damascus is taken away from being a city, and it shall be a ruinous heap”Isaiah 17:1
The destruction of Damascus and its consequences feature heavily in the book of Isaiah.
“The burden of Damascus. Behold, Damascus is taken away from being a city, and it shall be a ruinous heap,” features in verse one.
The verse follows: “The cities of Aroer are forsaken: They will be for flocks to lie down in and there will be no-one to frighten them… sovereignty will disappear from Damascus and the remnant of Aram.”
Theorists believe the extract refers to the levelling of the Syrian capital, ushering in a period of doom.
Tani Shrabel, writing for Endtime magazine, believes Damascus will become the battleground for armageddon following its demise.

Further prophecies feature in Revelation 9:13-15.
It reads: “And the sixth angel sounded, and I heard a voice from the four horns of the golden altar which is before God, saying to the with angel which had a trumpet, loose the four angels which are bound in the great river Euphrates.
“And the four angels were loosed, which were prepared for an hour, and a day, and a month, and a year, for to slay the third part of men.”
Shrabel believes it refers to an impending conflict around the Euphrates River – one of the longest and most historically important rivers of western Asia.
It’s claimed the line “to slay the third part of men” refers to the death of two billion people – 40 times more than the 52 million killed in World War 2.

Later, Revelation 16:12-16 reads: “And the sixth angel poured out his vial upon the great river Euphrates, and the water thereof was dried up, that the way of the kings of the east might be prepared.
“And I saw three unclean spirits like frogs come out of the mouth of the false prophet. For they are the spirits of devils, working miracles, which go forth unto the kings of the Earth and of the whole world, to gather them to the battle of that great day of God almighty… and he gathered them together into a place called in the Hebrew tongue Armageddon.”
It’s feared that this is battle when Damascus will be destroyed.
But who will be responsible – and take part in the bloody conflict?
Ezekiel chapter 38 suggests Meshech – the original word of Moscow – will participate in the battle, Shrabel writes.

Relations between Russia and the West are at a worrying low following a series of events.
The poisoning of ex-KGB spy Sergei Skripal and daughter Yulia with a nerve agent soured relations between Putin and Britain.
Putin has been supporting Assad diplomatically and militarily in his civil war against rebel groups.
And it’s these tensions which led to Evgeny Buzhinsky, a former Lieutenant-General under the USSR, to warn the stand-off between East and West is “worse than the Cold War”.
And he’s warned a nuclear war between rival nations is not only “imminent” but will be “very short”.
War fears are currently mounting as Trump will announce his decision on the future of the controversial international nuke agreement with Iran today.
