House GOP brings to an unceremonious end its year-old probe into FBI and DOJ handling of Clinton and Trump investigations By Associated PressMarketWatchDecember 31, 2018 WASHINGTON (AP) — House Republicans say more investigation is needed into decisions made by the FBI and the Justice Department in 2016 as they brought an unceremonious end to their yearlong look at the department’s handling of probes into Democrat Hillary Clinton’s emails and Donald Trump’s ties to Russia.
In a letter released late Friday, less than a week before Republicans cede the House majority to Democrats, the chairmen of two House committees described what they said was the “seemingly disparate treatment” the two probes received during the presidential election in 2016 and called on the Justice Department to appoint a special counsel to investigate further.

“This decision was made after many conversations between local social-change organizers and supporters of the march,” the chapter’s organizers said Friday in a statement posted on Facebook. “The local organizers are continuing to meet and discuss how to broaden representation in the organizing committee to create an event that represents and supports peoples who live here in Humboldt.”

Critics call Corsi a conservative conspiracy theorist, and point to his published work, including the book “Where is the Birth Certificate?’ which challenged President Obama’s U.S. citizenship and “Hunting Hitler: New Scientific Evidence That Hitler Escaped Nazi Germany,” in which he tries to make the case there’s no evidence Adolph Hitler ever died.
Corsi is also an associate of Roger Stone, and ally and adviser to President Trump who is also being investigated by the Special Counsel’s office.
American-Palestinian Reportedly Gets Life Sentence for ‘Selling Land to a Jew’
By Greg NormanFox NewsDecember 31, 2018 An American-Palestinian dual national reportedly was sentenced Monday to life in prison with “hard labor” for trying to sell land to Israelis — extending an incarceration that has already drawn the ire of the U.S. ambassador.
A Palestinian court convicted Issam Akel, who has been held since Oct. 10, of “attempting to sever parts of Palestinian land and annex it to a foreign state,” Reuters reported, citing a judiciary spokesperson.

Dershowitz: A Defense That Might Have Freed Flynn — and Still Could
By Alan Dershowitz, opinion contributorTheHillDecember 31, 2018 Ever since former Trump national security adviser Michael Flynn was arrested for lying to FBI agents, I have argued that he had a strong defense to that charge: namely, that his lies were not material because the FBI questioned him for an illegitimate purpose — to give him an opportunity to lie, rather than to obtain information it did not already have.
The question posed by the Flynn case is whether a lie can be material if the FBI already had indisputable evidence of the truthful answer and asked him the question for the sole purpose of giving him an opportunity to lie.

Franklin Graham: Facebook ban was ‘personal attack toward me’ By Justin WiseTheHillDecember 31, 2018 Evangelist Franklin Graham on Sunday accused Facebook of personally attacking him after the company banned him from the platform for 24 hours over a post he published in 2016.
“Why are they going back to 2016,” Graham, the president of the evangelism organization Samaritan’s Purse and the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association, said on Fox News after discussing how the social media platform moderates content on a day-to-day basis.
