We can’t allow a pro-fracking climate denier to take the helm of the Environmental Protection Agency — take action to block Scott Pruitt for head of EPA!
Donald Trump has made a number of bizarrely inappropriate cabinet nominations, naming people with either no relevant experience or outright contempt for the offices they’ve been chosen to fill. If confirmed and installed in these positions of power, they could do a lot of damage.
Scott Pruitt, Donald Trump’s nominee to lead the Environmental Protection Agency, is no exception. He’s been one of the EPA’s loudest opponents, suing to overturn clean air and water rules. If confirmed, he could roll back decades of progress in protecting our environment. We can’t let that happen.
Pruitt has consistently sided with the oil and gas industry in disputes over Exxon’s climate deception, federal estimates of air pollution from gas drilling, and attempts to assess fracking’s impact on drinking water. He’s also a climate change denier.
Pro-Big Business? Anti-science? At the EPA? What a disaster!
As if that weren’t bad enough, he’s also taken action against reproductive choice, freedom to marry, immigration reform, and equal protections for gay, lesbian, and transgender Americans.
We need someone at the EPA who respects the constitutional rights of all Americans and who will work to ensure a healthy, safe environment for everyone. Clearly, Scott Pruitt is not the right person for the job.
