We Are Change’s Luke Rudkowski spoke to entrepreneur, author and Nomad Summit founder Johnny FD about what it means to be a “Nomad” from the Digital Nomad capital of the world, Chiang Mai, Thailand.
“I went through the normal system. I went to high school, got good grades, went to college, took out student loans, graduated so that I could try to get a good corporate job, and there I am—I worked for this big American corporation, they’re treating me like crap, I don’t have any benefits, and at the end of the year, I had nothing in savings. I had hardly been able to take a vacation. Even if I could fly here, I had to fly straight back, and I had to keep working, I have all of this student loan debt, and it’s just BS. I just couldn’t get ahead and I wasn’t happy. I had everything people told you that you [should have], and even then if you’re not happy, what next? I’m so lucky that I found Chiang Mai, Thailand.”
