Felix Rodriguez was not a CIA “Asset” he was a CIA field agent with the CIA Special Activities Division. In the late 1960’s Rodriguez was also the agent assigned to work with the Bolivian Army in the search, capture and execution of Che Guevara. The farm which Camarena infiltrated was a vast acreage. The CIA enlisted the Guadalajara Cartel to provide enough space to build a Contra training facility. The kidnaping of Camarena took place after a DEA raid on the farm which relied primarily on his intelligence. The CIA wanted to find out if Camarena had seen/reported on the CIA training facility. I would also note that most of the money to train the Contras in Mexico did not come from the sale of arms to Iran. It came from selling crack cocaine in the black neighborhoods of Los Angeles (“Freeway” Rick Ross), Chicago, NYC, and Atlanta.
