It Is Time To Fight for the Republic: Stop This Coup Now

Dec. 2 (EIRNS)—After nearly four years in which the British and U.S. intelligence agencies have constantly pursued the destruction of candidate and then President Donald Trump, as a “Putin agent,” it is time that patriotic Americans move up to a higher level of this fight against British imperialism.

This blatant “color revolution,” or attempted coup d’état, now calling itself an “impeachment” of the President—and never having made a single sane case or argument to the American people—must now be defeated. There is a brief but wide-open window of opportunity to stop it now, because powerful new evidence has exposed the ugly CIA/NSC/British MI6 hand waving the Democratic Party puppet (see EIR Daily Alert for Dec. 2 for those evidentiary weapons). The late statesman, American System economist and British Empire nemesis Lyndon LaRouche insisted on principles to win a really important political fight: Keep flanking the enemy on a higher level; keep raising the understanding of your own forces to a level above the enemy’s thinking.

Imagine, already, that we have lifted the President to a higher ground: He is fighting for his Moon-Mars mission “Project Artemis,” and his policy of cooperation with the other spacefaring powers for peace and progress, against a Democratic Party which has been forced to abandon impeachment and go to election on the “Green New Deal.” He is backed by the growing “Committees of Correspondence” of Lyndon LaRouche’s Political Action Committee, with LaRouche’s full “Four Laws” program to rebuild the American and international economy. With Wall Street set to crash again, LaRouche’s movement is crowding Congress to break up the Wall Street megabanks with the Glass-Steagall Act, and establish a Hamiltonian National Bank so we can build new infrastructure, here and in South America and Africa.

That is the level this war against the coup can get to, by expanding now to bring in many more Americans, and get them moving others into action. The “impeachment” phase of this coup is putting on its last fake picture show during this month; it can, potentially, be shut down and go no further. But the underlying attempt to remove Trump from Presidential power, now four years old, is not a partisan Democrat matter, but a British intelligence attack, involving U.S. intelligence agencies’ sedition—the word of Attorney General Barr.

The intelligence agencies’ conspirators and their national media megaphones will not give up without being decisively defeated. President Trump can win battles in this war—he has already won some. But he cannot win the war unless Americans think and act bigger than you have been willing thus far. This must become, more and more, a mass movement against these agencies’ trying regime change in America.

The larger that movement of “Committees of Correspondence” becomes, LaRouchePAC will always have the correspondence, the weapons to circulate through them. Right now, Scott Ritter’s “The ‘Whistleblower’ and the Politicization of Intelligence” in Consortium News Nov. 27; and Barbara Boyd’s LaRouche PAC lead on Nov. 29, “The Third Phase of the Coup: Treason in High Places, as the Fascist Ukraine Coup Comes Home to Roost in the U.S.” and her accompanying Nov. 27 Fireside Chat with Bill Binney (“Hunting and Prosecuting Crazy Spooks To Save the Nation – LaRouchePAC Fireside Chat”) are crucial.

U.S. POLITICAL AND ECONOMIC

China Sanctions NGOs, Suspends U.S. Naval, Military Aircraft Visits to Hong Kong

Dec. 2 (EIRNS)—China has imposed sanctions on the New York-based Human Rights Watch and other NGOs, as well as suspending the review of requests by U.S. warships to visit Hong Kong, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Hua Chunying said at her briefing today. The sanctions are in reaction to the U.S. signing into law of the Hong Kong Human Rights and Democracy Act of 2019. Sanctions will also be imposed on the National Democratic Institute (NDI) and International Republican Institute, two pillars of the National Endowment for Democracy, as well as against NED itself, and others.

“Recently, in disregard of China’s opposition, the U.S. signed into law the so-called Hong Kong Human Rights and Democracy Act. This is in severe violation of international law and basic norms governing international relations and serious interference in China’s internal affairs. In response to the unreasonable U.S. practice, the Chinese government decides to suspend reviewing requests of U.S. military vessels and aircraft to visit Hong Kong starting from today and to impose sanctions on NGOs that played an egregious role in the Hong Kong amendment bill disturbance, including the National Endowment for Democracy, the National Democratic Institute for International Affairs, the International Republican Institute, Human Rights Watch and Freedom House. China urges the U.S. to correct its wrongdoing and stop meddling in China’s affairs, including Hong Kong affairs. China will take further measures if necessary, as the situation evolves to firmly safeguard stability and prosperity in Hong Kong and China’s sovereignty, security and development interests,” Hua Chunying said. Hua further stated that China had suspended a review of a request for visits by U.S. naval vessels and aircraft to Hong Kong, specifying, “As for how long the suspension will last, it depends on how the U.S. acts.”

In response to a media question, Hua stated that sufficient evidence showed that some organizations have supported anti-China disrupters in Hong Kong and instigated them to commit violence, crimes, and secessionist activities. They should take the major responsibility for the current unrest in Hong Kong, and should be sanctioned as a price for what they did, Hua said, as reported by Global Times.

Impeachment Post’ Seeks To Start Fight between Trump and Zelensky

Dec. 2 (EIRNS)—Washington, D.C.’s flagship paper, the Washington Post, which honesty in advertising would be the Impeachment Post, devoted a front-page lead today to trying to strike up conflict between President Donald Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky—part of the intelligence agencies’ objective of sending Ukraine back to war against Russia.

The piece, entitled “Ukraine’s Zelensky Is Making Headway Against Corruption. But the Fight Risks Angering Trump,” conveying the idea of Zelensky being caught between Trump and attorney Rudy Giuliani, and fighting corruption. Its sources are routinely identified only as “Ukraine activists” or just “activists,” giving U.S. intelligence Ukraine experts and Ukraine officers cover. Zelensky must fire certain prosecutors, it says, who, claims the Post, are somehow linked to Giuliani. Zelensky’s political ally Igor Kolomoisky must leave Ukraine, and Zelensky must sue his Privatbank for billions—otherwise, no IMF loans. Joe and Hunter Biden “will not” be found involved in any corruption; “Ukrainian activists” not otherwise identified say all corruption at the Burisma company occurred before the “Maidan” insurrection.

As for the Maidan coup itself, the Post pronounces that the “activists” involved simply wanted “clean government and economic ties with the EU.” The door, it hopes, is thus closed to the investigation of LaRouchePAC’s documentation since 2014 that it was a coup run—using fascist organizations—by the British Empire, the State Department, and the CIA.

Will Trump Get To Battle Democratic Dinosaurs on Green Fascism?

Dec. 1 (EIRNS)—If the intelligence agencies’ war coup (“impeachment”) against President Donald Trump can be beaten down during the first weeks of December, a fight on much more crucial grounds could develop: “Green” fascism under the claim of a so-called climate emergency, vs. investment in advanced nuclear power and a crash program—“Project Artemis”—in human space exploration. The battle would pit a propaganda war, spending hundreds of millions of dollars of Mike Bloomberg and other Wall Street billionaires, joined by various senior Democratic has-beens, against the President and the growing forces lining up for Lyndon LaRouche’s “Four Laws” policy of physical economic revival.

Bloomberg, among the few Democratic Presidential candidates who have called the House impeachment circus a waste of time, is already making huge ad purchases on social media. It sounds like what the intelligence agencies and the Mueller investigation claimed Russian trolls were doing, but for real, and with thousands of times more money. And this Facebook and other social media blitz by Bloomberg is entirely separate from his $31 million television ad campaign for this week alone, and just a warmup for his war against Trump. CNBC reports he is planning to spend $100 million solely on digital ads to attack President Donald Trump. His Presidential campaign advertising, which is expected to spend $500 million in 2020, is being run by former Facebook Chief Marketing Officer Gary Briggs. Moreover, at least for the primary season, Briggs will find himself at war with former Google executive Sonal Shah, who is policy director for Pete Buttigieg.

The has-beens are taking their places. Ex-Presidential candidate and Secretary of State John Kerry on Nov. 30 announced a climate emergency “coalition” he calls “World War Zero.” Bipartisan but not much, the “coalition” lists Bill Clinton, Jimmy Carter, Hitler admirer Arnold Schwarzenegger and never-Trumper former Ohio Gov. John Kasich, as well as Leonardo DiCaprio and other Hollywooders. Kerry said on their new “World War Zero” website that they want to “make the world respond to the climate crisis the same way we mobilized to win World War II.” And “town hall” meetings around the country beginning in January. “We’re going to try to reach millions of people … in order to mobilize an army of people who are going to demand action now on climate change sufficient to meet the challenge.”  World War Zero, it says in the small type, is a partner of the American Security Project.

This sounds very much like what Bloomberg claims he is going to do at the same time, using a massive wall of advertising money which could reach $200 million in a couple of months.

THE NEW GLOBAL ECONOMIC ORDER

India Announces Very Large Infrastructure Plan, But Out on PPP Financing Limb

Dec. 2 (EIRNS)—Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Commerce and Industry Minister has announced a large new infrastructure investment plan for India, which begs for the LaRouche/Hamilton credit and funding method but does not have it. The plan, announced Nov. 27 by Minister Piyush Goyal and reported in the Press Trust of India Nov. 27, is nonetheless hard infrastructure, not any kind of green new deal. Modi had, himself, first announced the plan on Independence Day, Aug. 15, saying it would nearly double the size of the Indian economy to $5 trillion over the five years of the plan.

Goyal announced a goal of RS 100 lakh crore (approximately $1.4 trillion equivalent) in investment over just five years, to “transform availability and quality of infrastructure at airports, roads, highways, railroads, ports…. All infrastructure-related sectors—aviation, shipping, electricity, and oil and gas—are going to see a huge thrust in the next five years,” said Goyal at the India International Trade Fair. His portfolio includes railways, and he said the rail aspect of the plan involves investment of RS 50 lakh crore, but this over the next 12 years.

There has been a distinct slowdown in Indian economic growth, to about 4.5%/year in GDP terms, when Modi’s government, after he won re-election, had anticipated 7% growth this year. The infrastructure is clearly a response to that, and the right one, to create economic demand and increased productivity.

Goyal said, however, that this would involve various public-private partnerships, because, “obviously, the government cannot put in this kind of money alone, so we will have to engage the private sector.” The government has borrowed heavily to support wage and salary increases and other wealth transfers, and is not in a position to make very large new borrowings. It could issue a volume of new currency with appropriate backing—but does not think of that—or with international credit partners—but does not have them yet. A New Bretton Woods system on Lyndon LaRouche’s design, explained by him since the 1990s, is needed soon.

China Accelerates Energy Infrastructure Investment in Coal and Nuclear, to Green Discomfiture

Dec. 2 (EIRNS)—According to South China Morning Post on Oct. 18, China had doubled the value of large-scale infrastructure projects approved by the government in the first ten months of 2019, compared with 2018, using domestic credit policy to combat the global industrial recession with increasing productivity and productive employment.

The National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) has approved 21 projects with $107.8 billion planned investment this year, based on the paper’s calculations from NDRC documents. For the same period in 2018, $52.8 billion were approved, such as railways, roads and airports. “Three of the infrastructure projects approved by the NDRC have price tags over … $14 billion, including the most expensive on the list—a new high-speed railway network linking Chongqing and Kunming in southwest China, worth a total of … $19.9 billion.”

These are not immediate spending levels, of course; however, actual infrastructure investment has risen to 4.5% of GDP, from 4.2% in 2018.

China is now greatly disturbing the elite climate hysterics currently gathered at COP25 in Madrid, by building up coal-fired and nuclear power capacity. An Associated Press piece today, titled “China Plans New Coal Plants, Trims Support for Clean Energy,” conveys the strong disapproval of those Western countries trying to give up food, farmers, warmth, and workers. Citing the November report, “Out of Step: China Is Driving the Continued Growth of the Global Coal Fleet,” from Global Energy Monitor (formerly CoalSwarm), AP writes that China is in various construction stages of 148 GW of new coal-fired capacity, more than what all of Europe is trying to close down. The coal-fired plants would add 7-8% to China’s total electric capacity, and while the plants being built are CO2 gas emitters they are extremely low emitters of particulate pollution.

The misnomered Global Energy Monitor maintains a Global Coal Plant Tracker (on a website called “EndCoal”) to “provide information on all existing coal plants of 30 MW or larger, as well as every plant proposed since January 1, 2010.” (See also, EIR Daily Alert for Nov. 25, 2019.)

The facts appear to be that China is carrying out the plan it submitted at COP21 in Paris in 2015, for 20% renewable energy—in which it includes nuclear and hydropower. As of 2018 it was already close to that target even without hydropower, which is considerable. It then had solar capacity in the range of 8% and wind at 9% of total installed capacity, with nuclear at 2%. The UN climate fanatics now demand much more wind and solar.

China is now adding nearly 1% to total capacity per year in the form of nuclear, over the coming five-six years, plus the large coal-fired fleet addition. And the subsidies for rooftop solar and “solar plants” have definitely been removed, which is what the climate fanatics mean by “cutting back spending on renewables.”

China actually appears to be shifting to higher shares for nuclear and coal, and therefore to higher technological productivity, having fulfilled the “renewables” pledge it made at COP21.

SCIENCE AND INFRASTRUCTURE

Shocking Discoveries Will Reshape Astrophysics of Black Holes

Dec. 2 (EIRNS)—Professor Liu Jifeng of the National Astronomical Observatory of China of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (NAOC) announced the discovery of a stellar-mass black hole, very close to our Solar System in astronomical terms, with an estimated mass of 70 Suns, several times larger than previously thought possible, for a system only 15,000 light years away. “Black holes of such mass should not even exist in our galaxy, according to most of the current models of stellar evolution,” Professor Liu, the deputy-director of the Observatory and the head of the research team, said in the press release.

Those of our readers familiar with Lyndon LaRouche would know that he would be excited by this news, since he was always urging his associates to explore the boundaries of our knowledge, and this black hole is one, par excellence. We don’t know much about them; they don’t allow any light to escape to tell us anything. However, once again, LaRouche would remind us of Plato’s cave; i.e., that what we see is not what we get. Everything we see, including with infrared or ultraviolet light, or by X-rays, forms mere shadows of action, and it is the action in and around the black hole, and its interaction with other stars, our galaxy, and perhaps other galaxies, that we are interested in.

Prof. David Reitze, director of the Laser Interferometer Gravitational-Wave Observatory at the University of Florida, forecasts that the combined shocks of this new black hole and a recent detection of binary black hole collisions, will lead to a renaissance in our understanding of black hole astrophysics.

Phase Two of Lesotho Highlands Water Project Launched

Dec. 2 (EIRNS)—The Sahara Desert is not the only region of Africa where water is a scarce commodity. That is why the launch of Phase Two of the Lesotho Highlands Water Project was welcomed with a celebration last week. Dignitaries from the Kingdom of Lesotho and representatives of the South African government were in attendance for the launch of the Polihali Dam, on the Orange River in Lesotho, a landlocked nation 100 miles south of Pretoria and Johannesburg.

The Lesotho Highlands Water Project (LHWP) could be characterized as a “mini-NAWAPA,” a regional water management project on a grand scale. Conceived in the 1950s and built in the 1990s, the LHWP collects runoff water on the Orange River behind a series of dams in the mountainous regions of Lesotho, and distributes down (and across international borders) to the populated urban areas of Pretoria and Johannesburg, in South Africa. Phase One involved the construction of three major dams and a network of tunnels 100 km long, during the 1990s. Designed primarily for water capture, the power segment is small, with just three generators supplying a total of 75 MW, enough for the domestic needs of Lesotho.

The Polihari Dam is the centerpiece (and the only major dam) of Phase Two, and, at 165 meters high, the largest of the entire project. For this region, which suffers regular water shortages, its expected completion in 2026 could not come soon enough.

Appeal to Archbishop of Canterbury To Support Immediate Release of Julian Assange

Dec. 2 (EIRNS)—A letter of petition signed by 61 intellectuals from 16 countries was delivered to Justin Welby, Archbishop of Canterbury, seeking for him to use his moral influence to end the unjustified imprisonment of WikiLeaks publisher Julian Assange.

The letter, from 61 prominent intellectuals, points out that “Julian Assange is not charged with any crime or even misdemeanor in Britain, and has fully served his sentence for his single offense: jumping bail to avoid extradition to the United States via Sweden. He was not and is not charged for any crime in Sweden. The sole charges against him originate in the United States, on purely political grounds, aimed at punishing Julian Assange for publication of accurate information provided by informed sources.”

Archbishop Welby has been asked “to respectfully transmit this message to Queen Elizabeth II.

“We appeal to your sense of justice and of national honor to uphold the best traditions of British democracy and respect for human rights by calling for the immediately freeing Julian Assange.”

This appeal was published by Consortium News Dec. 1.

Signers include Daniel Ellsberg; Dr. Francis Boyle, professor of international law, human rights defender; Oliver Stone; German Bundestag member Sahra Wagenknecht, William R. Polk, president of the Adlai Stevenson Institute of International Affairs, descendant of President James K. Polk; John Kiriakou, former CIA whistleblower; former Congresswoman Cynthia McKinney; Jean-Pierre Page, former head of the International Department of the French General Confederation of Labor (CGT), and others.

On Nov. 28, hundreds of Assange’s leading defenders gathered at St. Pancras Church in London to be briefed on his case by journalist and filmmaker John Pilger; former British diplomat Craig Murray; the UN special rapporteur on torture, Nils Melzer; clinical psychologist Lissa Johnson; former Ecuadorian diplomat Fidel Narvaez; Lisa Longstaff, spokesperson for Women Against Rape; and historian Mark Curtis. Videos of their remarks, under the headline “ ‘Psychologically Tortured’ Assange Victim of British ‘Rogue State,’ London Conference Hears,” has been posted to Consortium News. As well, there is an edited transcript of John Pilger’s chilling description of his visit to Assange in Belmarsh prison earlier that day.
