Today: An International Call To Action for Mankind To Look to the Stars, on Six Continents

Sept. 9 (EIRNS)—Today, Tuesday Sept. 10, is the first of two “Days of Action” this week, organized by the International Schiller Institute. Organizers on six continents (the Schiller Institute has not established an organization in Antarctica—yet) will be distributing the “International Call to Youth: The Age of Reason Is in the Stars!” written by Schiller Institute founder and Chairwoman Helga Zepp-LaRouche (see EIR Daily Alert #175, Wednesday, September 4, for full text), translated into nine languages, to college campuses, calling on the upcoming generation to reject the anti-science and anti-human doomsday cult promoting the lie of anthropogenic climate change, and turn their eyes and their creative potential to the stars. It is there that the mind’s eye can read Mankind’s destiny—to bring dominion over the Earth, the Solar System, and the Universe, and subdue it, and to participate in the unfolding creation of that Universe on behalf of all future generations.

The Schiller Institute New York City Chorus advanced that quest for truth and beauty on Sunday, performing works of Bach, Brahms, Schubert, and several African American Spirituals, to honor the dead and the living on the anniversary of 9/11.

The urgency of this task cannot be overstated. Manhattan will be experiencing an onslaught of madness during the month of September. “Climate Strike” week, Sept. 20-27, is bringing anarchists and greenies to Manhattan to demonstrate at the UN during the opening week of the General Assembly, leading to an “International Rebellion” against scientific and industrial progress beginning Oct. 7, organized by the eco-fascist Extinction Rebellion, founded and led by psychedelic drug user and promoter Gail Bradbrook.

The abused child Greta Thunberg from Sweden—used by the eco-fascist movement to convince children and disturbed adults that the world will soon end if human progress is not ended immediately—will also be in New York for the psychological die-in. Bill McKibben, whose 350.org preaches the doomsday message in 188 countries, is mobilizing people to come to New York, while bragging that they have now coerced financial institutions to divest $11 trillion from the fossil fuel industries.

And, it must be noted, the child activist Joshua Wong from Hong Kong will also be in Manhattan at the same time as the Climate Strike activists. It was Wong who, at 17, was anointed the “leader” of the 2014 color revolution in Hong Kong called “Occupy Central,” and who was chosen again this year (by the National Endowment for Democracy and elements of the U.S. State Department) to be the supposed “leader” of this year’s still-ongoing Hong Kong color revolution, phase II. This is not a coincidence. Nor should anyone be surprised that the climate fraudsters and the regime change artists are controlled by the same interests—the financial lords of the City of London and Wall Street, the dying British Empire.

It is the common aims of mankind which can and must unite sovereign nations to defeat that Empire. The space-faring nations, especially the U.S., Russia, China, and India, are also the leading nations which refuse to submit to the insane notion that we must stop using fossil fuels, while also promoting the expansion of nuclear power and the development of fusion energy. This is the moment of decision for mankind.

Confucius loved to recite a poem from the Book of Songs, which reads in translation:

What do the Heavens say?

Do the four seasons proceed,

And all things come into being?

What do the Heavens say?

Helga Zepp-LaRouche Greets Schiller Institute NYC Chorus ‘Living Memorial’ for 9/11

Sept. 9 (EIRNS)—The Schiller Institute New York City Chorus performed a Memorial Concert on Sunday in honor of the 9/11 victims. The following is Helga Zepp-LaRouche’s greeting to the event, titled, “Let the Stones Speak”:

To all of you gathered for this concert held in memory of those who perished in the fateful attacks of September 11, 2001, and those who perished in its ongoing aftermath, whether in war, or due to the medical problems caused by the rescue and clean-up, I send my heartfelt greetings.

Today, September 8, happens to be the birthday of my beloved late husband Lyndon LaRouche, who was passionately committed to the cause of justice for all mankind as a whole, and especially the case of 9/11. In 2016, in response to a question from a military veteran about the first responders who had perished along with many others on that clear September morning, my husband said the following:

“We have to set up some kind of memorial, a living memorial for people who died in that case. That would do something. Because the United States so far has failed to do anything about that—a few handfuls of people have been concerned with that. But we have to get the humiliation expressed by the people as a whole, for their failure to defend life, human life, when that life was needed.”

To understand what my husband meant by humiliation, one might look to the works of the great German poet for whom the chorus is named: Friedrich Schiller. Schiller personally felt a great humiliation on behalf of mankind, when the French Revolution turned out to be nothing but a violent bloodletting, which he described in his poem Song of the Bell. He wrote his Letters on the Aesthetical Education of Man to address the great shortcomings of the population of Europe, which had met a moment of great opportunity with such small hearts and minds.

This is why the work of the chorus is so very important to the development of mankind, because when people are ennobled, tragic events do not lead to self-perpetuating continuing tragedy, but rather become the catalyst for a greater good, and in that way those who lost their lives are immortalized by the sublime actions of future generations.

As my husband wrote in 2001 in a statement entitled, “Faith, Hope, and Agapē”:

“Therefore, let the stones speak; let Creation itself testify to the manifest intention of the Creator, as it did to Johannes Kepler, and to Carl Gauss after Kepler. Let the relevant evidence speak for itself, as Moses Mendelssohn taught and demonstrated. Let the relevant evidence speak for itself, as the cognitive powers of the individual mind are capable of reenacting, and thus verifying universal physical principles, including principles bearing upon our notions of the nature of the relations among man, God, and nature.”

Hong Kong Color Revolution ‘Rock Star’ Joshua Wong in Germany, Then to New York

Sept. 9 (EIRNS)—The boy-wonder Joshua Wong, who has been promoted by the color revolutionists as a god-like hero saving the Hong Kong people from the evil Chinese empire, was allowed to leave Hong Kong today on a pre-scheduled visit to Germany and the U.S. He had been arrested at the airport Sunday, accused of breaking his bail conditions, but in fact the court had given him permission to leave on two pre-arranged trips, first to Taiwan and now to Berlin and New York, from Sept. 9-23.

German Foreign Minister Heiko Maas today welcomed Wong’s release and said he planned to meet him when he arrives Monday night. Wong said he would be meeting other politicians as well, and will speak at Berlin’s Humboldt University—Humbolt will be turning in his grave. Proving once again that the target of the color revolution is China as a whole, not just Hong Kong, Wong told the press he would call on Germany to halt trade negotiations with and arms sales to China until they honor their people’s human rights.

Although his schedule for the New York trip has not been announced, he will be there at precisely the same time as the massive “Climate Strike” week from Sept 20-27. We will watch to see if he meets up with wonder-woman Greta Thunberg, who is in New York to promote the doomsday cult of anthropogenic climate change—funded by the same City of London and Wall Street financial interests which are behind the color revolution in China.

Russia and U.S. Representatives Meet on Counter-Terror Cooperation in Vienna

Sept. 9 (EIRNS)—Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Oleg Syromolotov and U.S. Deputy Secretary of State John Sullivan today held the fourth round of discussions on cooperation on counter-terrorism in Vienna. Discussion topics included terrorist migration, the activities of the Islamic State (ISIS) in Afghanistan, the situation in the Sahara-Sahel zone and terrorist financing.

Syromolotov told TASS in general the dialogue with the Americans was developing dynamically and both sides were committed to achieving practical results, as well as helping to build the confidence necessary for making progress in bilateral relations.

The State Department readout indicated constructive discussions on the major topics, and concluded: “The United States and Russia agreed to convene the U.S.-Russia Counterterrorism Dialogue at a high-level on an annual basis, and for U.S. and Russian counterterrorism experts to meet in coming months to explore options for further cooperation.”

STRATEGIC WAR DANGER

U.S. Space Command Runs Its First War Game

Sept. 9 (EIRNS)—The newly established U.S. Space Command is running its first war game, this week, at Maxwell AFB, Alabama. Called the “Schriever War Game,” it brings together several military commands, allies, and the nation’s intelligence agencies, focuses on a rival nation in Europe starting a “multi-domain” war, a military term that combines traditional land, sea, and air combat with space battle and cyberattacks, reports the Colorado Springs Gazette, where the Air Force Space Command is based. The rival—not named, but fitting Russia or China, according to how these countries are defined in military strategy documents—is “seeking to achieve strategic goals by exploiting multi-domain operations,” Air Force Space Command said in a news release. The other countries participating in the exercise, according to the Gazette, are Australia, Canada, New Zealand, and Britain, that is, the English-speaking countries that make up the Five Eyes intelligence alliance.

This is not the kind of war game that involves maneuvering thousands of troops with all their hardware. Rather, it involves only 360 people and is likely taking place in a conference center. It does examine a big war, though, with a “full spectrum of threats across diverse, multi-domain operating environments to challenge civilian and military leaders, planners and space system operators, as well as the capabilities they employ,” says the Gazette.

Another “multi-domain” effort is underway in Europe, with the U.S. Army’s Multi-Domain Task Force, which is focused on implementing the Multi-Domain Operations concept in Europe. The concept had heretofore been mainly focused on the Western Pacific region, that is, aimed at China, but now the Army is adapting it for use in Europe against Russia. Setting up the task force in Europe “highlights the strategic importance of having a multi-domain capability in the European theater to deter and counter aggression across all domains,” said Col. Joe Scrocca, a U.S. Army Europe spokesman. Elements of multi-domain capabilities have already appeared in large exercises such as Saber Guardian in Romania, Bulgaria, and Hungary, as well as Saber Strike in the Baltics, reports Defense News.

Dark Ages Diseases Emerge in Los Angeles County, Bespeaking a Biological Holocaust

Sept. 9 (EIRNS)—In an article published in The Hill Sept. 8, Dr. Marc Siegel, medical director at Doctor Radio at NYU Langone Health, lays out a stark picture of how diseases once associated with the Middle Ages—typhus for one—have erupted in Los Angeles County (and potentially many others) as a result of the conditions associated with homelessness and poverty. His article is appropriately headlined “Is a Dark Ages Disease the New American Plague Threat?”

He warns that with its population of 60,000 homeless, 75% of whom lack even temporary shelter or adequate hygiene and medical treatment, Los Angeles County has “all those factors that make a perfect cauldron” for leprosy, also known as Hansen’s disease, which is transmitted by nasal droplets and respiratory secretions with close repeated contact. Realistically speaking, Dr. Siegel writes, “it’s only a matter of time” before leprosy could take hold among Los Angeles County’s homeless population, given the conditions in which these abandoned citizens live.

One factor explaining the spread of murine typhus, Dr. Siegel said, is that, while it can be easily treated with antibiotics, treatment is made difficult in “resistant, hard-to-access populations,” such as the homeless, or the extremely poor in developing countries.

Leprosy, he continued, involves a mycobacterium that is very difficult to transmit and very easy to treat with a cocktail of three antibiotics. But diagnosis or treatment is often unavailable in India, or Central and South America, where leprosy afflicts the very poor, people living in close quarters with poor sanitation.

“Lack of prompt diagnosis can cause the disease to become more common,” he states. While the possibility exists of sporadic cases of leprosy continuing to be brought across the U.S. southern border undetected, he writes, the real danger lies in the conditions existing in Los Angeles County which would facilitate transmission. And, he warns, “leprosy appearing among the homeless in L.A. is a sure recipe for instant public panic.”

Argentina Is an Economic and Social Catastrophe

Sept. 9 (EIRNS)—Although Argentina’s President Mauricio Macri claims his only purpose now is stabilizing the nation’s currency market and ensuring “tranquility” in the next few months, the underlying situation in the country is explosive. Social upheaval stemming from the hideous conditions of austerity imposed by Macri’s IMF policies over the past four years, plus an uncontrollable debt and financial crisis, have combined to produce a national catastrophe.

Many analysts fear that popular rage is such that containing it over the next two months may be impossible. Nationwide protests and strikes are demanding that Macri declare “a national food emergency” to attend to the needs of the poor.

The speculative bubble that Macri’s policies of total deregulation have caused, depending entirely on a booming carry trade, has now burst, as a result of the run on the currency, devaluation, and capital flight that followed the Aug. 11 primary elections, in which Macri was trounced by opposition leader Alberto Fernández. The emergency measures taken in the last two weeks, including “reprofiling” debt and imposing “light” exchange controls, have not changed the underlying reality. Since Aug. 9, reserves have dropped by $15.7 billion, to $50.5 billion. Note too, that the exchange controls don’t touch speculative money flows at all. Early in his term, Macri eliminated all exchange controls, letting speculators do whatever they wanted.

According to the Observatory of Foreign Policy and International Conjuncture (OCIPEx), of the $37.1 billion in hot money that entered the country through July, 95% of it—$35.4 billion—fled the country prior to the Sept. 1 imposition of exchange controls. The estimate is that $8 out of every $10 disbursed by the IMF ($44 billion thus far), has fled the country.

The Sept. 4 Contexto reports on findings of a team of economists known as the “Economic Project,” showing that between 2016 and 2019, there were 4,074 industrial firms (many of them small to medium-sized) that were forced to close; 120,233 workers (some put the figure at 200,000) lost their jobs. While in 2015 there were 1.3 million industrial workers, by June of 2019, that figure had dropped to 1.1 million.

The national statistical agency, INDEC, reported that in June, industrial production fell year-on-year by 6.9%, and 1.8% compared to May. In the first six months of 2019, industrial production dropped 9.4% year-on-year. As of June of 2019, industry was operating at 59.1% of installed capacity.

THE NEW GLOBAL ECONOMIC ORDER

Putin and Macron Advance France-Russia Collaboration

Sept. 9 (EIRNS)—Ahead of the 2+2 talks among Russian and French Defense and Foreign Ministers today in Moscow, Russian President Vladimir Putin and French President Emmanuel Macron spoke by phone Sept. 8 to review progress in the diplomatic initiatives they agreed to during their talks last month in France. Among the topics they discussed was the prisoner exchange between the Ukraine and Russia which could help lead to new summit in the Normandy Four format, which comprises Ukraine, Russia France, and Germany.

“In furtherance of the recent Russian-French talks in Fort de Brégançon, Russian President Vladimir Putin had a telephone conversation with French President Emmanuel Macron. Vladimir Putin and Emmanuel Macron gave a positive assessment of the Sept. 7 release and exchange of detainees between Russia and Ukraine as an important humanitarian operation. They expressed the hope that it will encourage normalization of the Russian-Ukrainian relations,” the Kremlin said, according to TASS.

“They noted that the Cooperation Council on Security involving the Russian and French foreign and defense ministers will resume its work in Moscow on Sept. 9. The sides agreed to establish contacts in other formats,” the Kremlin press service said. “The Presidents agreed to continue their contacts both by telephone and through personal meetings,” the statement concluded.

At a press conference following the “2+2” meeting, French Foreign Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian said that the introduction of a ceasefire and prisoner exchange have established the conditions for holding a Normandy Four summit. “Today there is an opportunity to achieve peaceful settlement [in Ukraine]. Now the ceasefire is in effect, which seems to be more lasting and more effective than all the previous ones. Troops were withdrawn in Stanitsa Luhanskaya, a swap took place. President Macron worked very hard on this issue,” Le Drian pointed out. “Therefore, we are thinking that the Normandy Four initiative is a timely action, which needs to be carried out in the coming days.”

French Defense Minister Florence Parly commented at the press conference that the talks, while showing the difference between the two sides, also showed a willingness to seek solutions. “In Syria, we confront a common challenge—terrorism, although our approaches differ,” she said. “We are very worried about the situation in the Idlib zone and the humanitarian situation. We have our red lines that remain unchanged.”

She went on: “We only started this work today, this morning. But the quality of our contact makes me think that we will be successful on this path, even if it is not smooth.”

They said the second arm of the talks is “to think through how we can make a lasting contribution to improve strategic stability.” This is “not always easy because we often have different visions and methods,” Parly stated.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said Moscow was satisfied with the ceasefire and prisoner swaps, and hopes these developments would lead to a settlement. He also was satisfied with the “very positive the statement” by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky “that he is interested in resolving, through working in the Normandy format and Contact Group…. And we certainly expressed the hope that such a position of the Ukrainian President would continue to determine that country’s policy towards a settlement in Donbas,” Sputnik quoted Lavrov as saying.

The French Policy Reset Towards Russia

PARIS, Sept. 9 (EIRNS)—The steps toward French-Russian cooperation continue to develop. An interesting piece in Le Figaro by Isabelle Lasserre, a strongly anti-Russian journalist, entitled “The Reasons That Guided Macron’s Pro-Russian Turn,” reports that French President Emmanuel Macron had already argued against the EU sanctions against Russia when he was Finance Minister under President François Hollande. When Macron became President, these ideas matured under the influence of his adviser on Russia, Jean-Pierre Chevènement, and prompted him to change his view on Crimea, calling its return to Russia a “mere military gesture.” As a member of the Socialist Party, Chevènement played an important role as a nationalist against Mitterrand’s support for the Maastricht Treaty, and earlier had resigned as Mitterrand’s Defense Minister in opposition to the 1991 Iraq War.

Le Figaro cites an Elysée source on the reasons for Macron’s strong shift now, the main one being “a real preoccupation of the state of world affairs”: “The relationship with Russia cannot be understood if one doesn’t integrate it into the global foreign policy of France,” reports the Elysée source. “The deconstruction of all mechanisms of crisis management and of the multilateral order has become too dangerous. It must be countered. France wants to contribute to the emergence of a new international world order,” said the source. The analysis and the French ambition are based on the “long run,” and are nourished by a realistic recognition that “since its grand comeback on the international scene, Russia is indispensable to the resolution of the great crisis of the moment: It is an indispensable piece in the puzzles of Syria, Libya, Iran and Ukraine, four situations in which French diplomacy has invested a lot,” reports Le Figaro.

There is also the “the right occasion,” says Lasserre, stating that the France’s holding the rotating G7 presidency and that of the Council of Europe were two important moments when France could act. According to the Russian specialist at the French Institute of International Affairs (IFRI) the “alignment of the stars” helps as well: the election of Zelensky, the political transition in Germany, the crisis in Italy, the Brexit crisis, have created a vacuum of power of which Macron has taken advantage. The difficulties between the French-German couple and the uncertainties of the Trump Presidency have also contributed, the source says. A diplomatic source at the Institut Montaigne also speculates that it’s not to be excluded that Macron’s turn towards Russia was viewed with interest by Trump, who responded well to Macron.

The weakness in Macron’s offensive towards Russia, is that it is also motivated by the idea to break the Russia-China alliance, to which Putin responded with a clear “no” at the Eastern Economic Forum in Vladivostok. Macron is not breaking with China, but wants to do his best not to deal with both countries as a unity.

SCIENCE AND INFRASTRUCTURE

Widespread International Support and Encouragement for ISRO’s Chandrayaan-2 Mission

Sept. 9 (EIRNS)—Despite the failure of the Chandrayaan-2 mission’s Vikram lander to make a soft landing on the Moon’s South Pole Sept. 6, messages of support continue to flow into the offices of the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO), congratulating it for its “bold” effort and emphasizing that the mission will provide valuable lessons for all those—current and future generations—committed to exploring the universe.

The Hindustan Times today quoted an ISRO official reporting that the Vikram lander was lying “intact” and “tilted” on the lunar surface, although ISRO Chairman Dr. K. Sivan has made no official confirmation. Dr. Sivan has emphasized that even if the lander and its rover Pragyan are intact, they can’t transmit any scientific information unless communication is re-established.

NASA Administrator Jim Bridenstine tweeted today, “Space exploration brings out the best in us all. Even when a mission doesn’t go as planned, our efforts inspire those who come after us to continue reaching for the stars. Thank you @ISRO for inspiring generations with your #Chandrayaan2 mission.”

A similar message came from former NASA astronaut Jerry Linenger, who flew for five months on the Russian space station Mir, which operated in low Earth orbit from 1986 to 2001. Speaking Sept. 6 from a live broadcast of the Chandrayaan-2 landing attempt on the National Geographic Channel, Linenger said “we should not be too discouraged. India was trying to do something very, very difficult. In fact, everything was going as planned as the lander came down…. If you step back and look at the big picture, this [attempt] would obviously be very helpful for follow-on missions.” Congratulating ISRO for attempting the lunar landing, he concluded, “I look forward to watching complete success in the future based upon lessons learned from this bold attempt.”

Namira Salim, Pakistan’s first female astronaut, congratulated ISRO “on its historic attempt to make a soft landing of the Vikram lander at the South Pole of the Moon.”

“The Chandrayaan-2 lunar mission is indeed a giant leap for South Asia which not only makes the region but the entire global space industry proud,” she told the Karachi-based publication Scientia.”

“Regional developments in the space sector in South Asia are remarkable and no matter which nation leads—in space, all political boundaries dissolve and in space—what unites us, overrides, and divides us on Earth,” she said. Salim is the first Pakistani to fly in space with Virgin Galactic, the commercial spaceflight company.

On the internet, many Chinese citizens have also enthusiastically expressed their support to ISRO, reports Global Times today.

‘Extermination’ Rebellion Releases Action Manual in German

Sept. 9 (EIRNS)—The Malthusian outfit Extinction Rebellion has released a German translation of its radical action manual, “This Is Not A Drill: An Extinction Rebellion Handbook,” which will also serve to mobilize for the protest tent camp in the government district of Berlin, over Oct. 5-13. The camp will host the XR activists from other European countries as well.

The German manual describes in Part 1 what climate change allegedly is and its effects on the global situation; Part 2 deals with blockade and sabotage actions, and with how to deal with arrests by police.

In Hanover on Sunday, Sept. 8, some 50 XR activists repeatedly blocked traffic at Königsworther Platz, a heavily frequented square. These kinds of actions are part of the rehearsal for more and tougher actions in the coming weeks.

German Auto Industrialist Warns that Climate ‘Protectors’ Are Job Killers

Sept. 9 (EIRNS)— A few days before the opening of the Sept. 12-22 IAA international automobile fair, Stefan Wolf, CEO of car part supplier Elring Klinger, denounced the latest radicalization of the anti-car “climate” protests, warning of mass riots and violence, pointing to the tumultuous protests during the July 2017 G20 summit in Hamburg.

Wolf said that it is unacceptable to only raise the aspect of emissions with respect to automobiles, without caring about the drastic consequences of proposed political measures against an industrial sector that accounts for 10% of GDP and secures altogether 3 million jobs. “We may one day be free of CO2 emissions but no longer have any jobs and no perspective,” Wolf warned.

‘Scientists’ Put Out Eco-Fascist Manifesto for Joining XR—No More Words, Just Take Action

Sept. 9 (EIRNS)—“We Scientists Must Rise Up To Prevent the Climate Crisis. Words Aren’t Enough,” is the title of a manifesto published in Britain’s Guardian daily on Sept. 6. The authors of the manifesto are Claire Wordley, a postdoctoral research associate at the University of Cambridge, and Charlie Gardner, who is a lecturer in conservation biology at the University of Kent.

Publishing more papers won’t change things (since there’s no science in them, anyway, they might have said), the two authors write: “It seems that knowledge alone cannot trigger the radical global changes we so urgently need. It was this realization that incited us both to embrace activism, and to take to the streets and engage in non-violent civil disobedience as members of Extinction Rebellion.”

In brief: Since nobody believes our lies under cover of “science,” let’s just terrorize them into submission.
