The Green Nazi International and the Second Stage of the Coup

Aug. 8 (EIRNS)—Remember Bob Mueller? Heard anyone talking about him lately? But after Mueller’s investigation failed so spectacularly, Phase Two of the attempted coup against the President has begun. LaRouchePAC analyst Barbara Boyd will begin to lay bare the British intelligence roots of this new phase this evening, in LaRouchePAC’s Fireside Chat livestreamed conference call, available on the LaRouchePAC website, as she did so successfully earlier, for Phase One, with her report, “Robert Mueller Is an Amoral Legal Assassin: He Will Do His Job If You Let Him,” issued in September 2017.

Her preview for her presentation today states: “Almost as soon as the ‘Russia, Russia, Russia!!!’ attack on the U.S. Presidency collapsed with Robert Mueller’s mentally vacant Congressional testimony, a new narrative, a new phase of the coup was put into place, complete with actual violent choreography and the killing of innocents. This attack emanates from the same British imperial forces and psychological warriors who invented the myth of Russiagate. It is not just an attack on Trump designed to ensure his defeat in 2020. It is an attack on the entire nation’s ability to reason about and assess reality, as the world’s economy teeters on the edge of yet another collapse. Most of all it is targeted at our youth—those who, historically, have brought about great and historical change at major turning points in history, such as the crisis we now face. President Trump said this week, correctly, that a change in culture was urgent, and he is clearly trying to figure out how to do that.”

Mrs. Boyd will make clear that the ideology with which the mass-shooters have been supplied, is a variety of Green Fascism. Even if mere commentary and appearances would have you believe otherwise, the reality is that the synthetic belief-structure linked to the El Paso shooting suspect and others, is closely intertwined with the increasingly dictatorial and violent international “Green” movement, supposedly against man-made “global warming,” against which Helga Zepp-LaRouche, president of the Schiller Institute, has been warning sharply during recent weeks.

The 16-year-old figurehead leader of that Green movement, Sweden’s Greta Thunberg, is clearly unaware that her campaign is being funded by Warren Buffett, the Gettys, and others among the richest people of the world. That it is actually headed up by the financiers’ City of London and its banks.  Now, as in the 1920s and 1930s, their financial system is coming under immediate threat. Now, as then, they are trying to extend dictatorial control over all world investment streams, this time under the banner of “green,” “sustainable” investment. Now, as then, they are lining up to back an international fascist movement.  It is a different movement this time, but not that different—remember that the original Nazis were also “green.”

Now, as then, Russia, China and the U.S. are potential obstacles. President Vladimir Putin recently openly rejected this sort of “environmentalism.”  China is building both coal power and nuclear power plants, both domestically and in power-starved developing countries in Africa and elsewhere.  President Trump has taken the U.S. out of the Paris Climate Accord.

COLLAPSING WESTERN FINANCIAL SYSTEM

One-Fourth of All Bonds Globally Now Have a Negative Interest Rate

Aug. 8 (EIRNS)—Deutsche Bank reported today that the amount of bonds with negative rates has reached $15 trillion worldwide. This is 25% of the entire bond market. U.S. ten-year bonds are now going in that direction, after they plunged for a short time to 1.5% yesterday, to go back to 2% at the end of the day.

Another financial reading of note is the fact that, regarding currency values over time, the Chinese currency is the strongest of all, measured in relation to trade in goods and services. This week, the Swiss financial daily Neue Zürcher Zeitung reported its calculations that based on the trade-weighted currency index, China’s yuan/renminbi has gained value against the dollar in the last 10 years. The index measures how much the prices of goods and services of one country have changed from the standpoint of its trading partner. According to the index, the yuan/renminbi has gained 20.4% since 2010 and the dollar 17.2%. The euro instead has lost 5.3% of its value.

UN’s Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change Spreads Food Scare

Aug. 8 (EIRNS)—A new “Special Report On Climate Change and Land” by the UN Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) published today, focuses on global warming’s alleged effects on soil quality, agriculture and food supply. Timed with an army of green NGOs that are also becoming active again in the mainstream media on the issue, the target is the way food is consumed in the developed sector: too much meat, too much food from so-called non-sustainable farming methods, too little food security—“inevitably”— under current modes, and, of course, too much human population. For example, Greenpeace charges production and consumption of meat with 70% of the global greenhouse gas output.

Cattle production and other animal husbandry are also portrayed as absorbing huge quantities of grain which is not directly consumed by humans but wasted on feeding livestock. (Do they include ethanol gas as “direct” human consumption of grain?) The various complainants charge that traditional and indigenous eating habits are being replaced by modern food consumption, especially meat, none of which is sustainable, they assert. And, since the supposedly global heat wave is allegedly turning arable lands into deserts, acreage usable for growing grain is becoming scarce.

A direct plan discussed for Germany is to raise the Value Added Tax (VAT) on food to the highest rate, that of luxury goods, which would mean increasing the VAT tax on food from its present 7% to 19%. Thus, food, and particularly meat, would become much more expensive. However, there is no plan to make sure farmers would get any of this extra income, but only a few cents as a token courtesy.

What is not mentioned by the IPCC charges are such features of the current food supply chain as rampant commodity speculation. For example, already several years ago, the volume of wheat futures traded yearly were 50 times more than the average annual volume of the wheat harvest globally. Now, with the “green bonds” are being promoted, speculation will increase the pressure on growing and producing food.

Germany’s ‘Black Zero’ Budget Constraints Will Not Be Applied to Green Climate Protection

Aug. 8 (EIRNS)—Among many other scandals of the German government, the latest is the discussions at the Finance Ministry of violating the drastic “balanced” budget austerity rule “black zero,” which, since its initiation in past years, has made substantial investment in real infrastructure virtually impossible. The zero budgeting will not apply to climate protection projects, says Finance Minister Olaf Scholz, sounding the alarm that without extra borrowing, the government’s targets for climate protection would not be met.

This climate rescue operation being a scandal in itself, the further scandal is that the Scholz plan is trying to repeat the private bank rescue operations in the wake of the global crisis of 2007-2008, mobilizing hundreds of billions of euros for the banksters. Then, as well, the hype was that there was ostensibly “no alternative” to bailing out the banking system, and that “time is running out.”

U.S. POLITICAL AND ECONOMIC

State Department Western Hemisphere Chief Resigns, Clashed with Bolton Neocons on Ibero-America Policy

Aug. 8 (EIRNS)—Assistant Secretary of State for the Western Hemisphere Kimberly Breier resigned her post yesterday, citing “personal reasons.” A more likely explanation is that her departure reflects factional battles in the White House, in which National Security Adviser John Bolton and his neocon allies are calling the shots on Ibero-America policy, and that Breier was increasingly sidelined.

Breier had no problem with regime change for Venezuela. In fact, shortly after Juan Guaidó declared himself “interim” President last January, she shepherded him on a tour of several Ibero-American countries, to present him as Venezuela’s “legitimate” president.

But she reportedly clashed with hard-liners in the White House, National Security Council and Congress who wanted a tougher policy toward Ibero-America, especially on immigration matters. Breier was State’s point person for dealing with Mexican immigration into the U.S., and was actively involved in negotiations with Mexico in early June to forge an agreement to avoid the imposition of U.S. tariffs on Mexican imports.

When Iran-Contra felon Elliott Abrams was named State Department Special Representative for Venezuela, Breier was reportedly pushed aside. She also alienated Venezuela hawk Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL), by refusing to testify before his Senate Foreign Relations Committee on Central America policy.

According to the Washington Post, White House adviser Stephen Miller recently chastised Breier by email, telling her it was her job “to defend” the Department of Homeland Security’s strong-arming of Guatemala into accepting the designation of a “safe third country.” This means that Guatemala must offer asylum to migrants who seek it when traveling through the country going north. Those who are refused asylum in the U.S. are returned to Guatemala—not their country of origin—which must take care of them, a huge financial burden for a poor country.

Update on the George Soros, British Empire and Big Money Coup Assault against the U.S. Presidency

Aug. 8 (EIRNS)—A round-up of recent reports on aspects of the coup operations against President Donald Trump, shows more coming out about their big money and British pedigree. An Aug. 7 article in The Hill by John Solomon—“George Soros’s Secret 2016 Access To State Exposes ‘Big Money’ Hypocrisy of Democrats”—demonstrates that George Soros had Victoria Nuland, then Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs, on speed dial in 2016, endlessly working “Toria” for his business and “philanthropic” interests.

Among Soros’s most significant “philanthropic” interests was his $10.6 million investment in Hillary Clinton’s campaign for President. Solomon’s article details the collaboration between the Open Society’s Kleptocracy Initiative, and the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) in attempting to remake Ukraine beginning with the Maidan coup in 2014. Solomon points out that Ukrainian oligarch Dmytro Firtash, a business competitor of Soros’s in Ukraine, was targeted and indicted by the Department of Justice as part of the so-called Kleptocracy Initiative.

At the same time, Soros’s Open Society anti-corruption fronts in Ukraine were central to the production of the “black ledger book” of cash payments to Paul Manafort which led to Manafort’s resignation from the Trump Campaign and the reopening of the investigation which led to his indictment. The black ledger is considered by most who are familiar with the matter to be as fake as “ex” MI6 agent Christopher Steele’s dirty dossier on Donald Trump. After being used to open the Manafort investigation, including in controlled leaks by prosecutor Andrew Weissmann, it was never presented to jurors in the Manafort trial.

While Solomon does not note it in his article, it is otherwise clear that Nuland and Soros were up to their ears in the British-directed operations against the Trump Campaign, including those of Christopher Steele. Steele was a regular intelligence source on Russia and Ukraine for the U.S. State Department before, during, and after his employment with the FBI. Soros funded Steele after he was fired by the FBI.

In another Russiagate-related matter: In May 2019, an unnamed Deputy Assistant FBI director was cited in DOJ Inspector General Michael Horowitz’s report for numerous unauthorized leaks to the news media, including aspects of sensitive investigations, along with repeated acceptance of gifts from journalists. His activity was considered so egregious that Horowitz recommended criminal prosecution. Journalist Sara Carter has now named that individual as Bryan Paarmann.

In 2016, Paarmann was the Deputy Director in charge of the International Operations Division. This was a critical position in the ongoing illegal operations against candidate Donald Trump in 2016 and in the sedition against President Trump. That DOJ division coordinates with the State Department and supervises all FBI legal attachés in U.S. embassies abroad. It is a major coordination point between the FBI, CIA, and other U.S. intelligence agencies and their foreign counterparts. William Sessions’ DOJ recommended against prosecution. Otherwise, Judicial Watch has documented 14 referrals of FBI employees to the DOJ Office of Professional Responsibility for unauthorized leaks of classified or sensitive information. Leaks of classified information are felonies. Tom Fitton, who heads Judicial Watch, says that each of these cases was swept under the rug by Sessions’ DOJ.

STRATEGIC WAR DANGER

Ukraine’s President Zelensky Seeks Normandy Four Summit, with Backing by Putin and Macron

Aug. 8 (EIRNS)—Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky initiated a telephone conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin yesterday, Putin’s website reported. It said their discussion emphasized the importance of Ukraine’s strict compliance with the ceasefire established on July 21, as well as the disengagement of forces and weapons along the line of contact separating fighting forces in Ukraine. Putin also emphasized that preventing further shelling by Ukrainian troops of communities in the Donbas, which results in civilian casualties, is “critical” for de-escalating the conflict. The importance of consistently implementing the Minsk agreements, including their provisions on granting the Donetsk and Luhansk people’s republics a special legal status, was also affirmed during their conversation.

It was noted that both parties need to engage in constructive dialogue, including within the Minsk Contact Group. Both Presidents agreed to accelerate efforts to free detained persons, as well as to pursue future contacts within the Normandy Format.

French President Emmanuel Macron yesterday backed the proposal of Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelensky to hold a summit of the Normandy Four (Russia, Ukraine, Germany and France) in the near term, but only after a meeting of political directors, Zelensky’s press office announced after a phone conversation between the French and Ukrainian Presidents, reported TASS yesterday.

According to the statement, Macron promised that he would contact Russian President Vladimir Putin and German Chancellor Angela Merkel to coordinate this initiative.

SCIENCE AND INFRASTRUCTURE

SpaceX Catches Reusable Nose Cone Fairing with Boat and Net

Aug. 8 (EIRNS)—SpaceX successfully captured a fairing (cover for a piece of equipment) for the nosecone of a rocket launched Aug. 6 for its second successful capture, Sputnik reported today.

After a slight delay, SpaceX’s Falcon 9 rocket launched successfully from Florida, as shown in a video filmed by SpaceX founder Elon Musk.

The first rocket stage was unable to be recovered due to mission requirements; the fairing was captured by a recovery ship with a large net off the Florida coast.

Since the historic launch of the SES-10 communications satellite 24 months ago, SpaceX has been attempting to make reusing nosecone fairings a standard practice. SpaceX reused a part of its Falcon 9 rocket for the first time just under two and one-half years ago, Sputnik reported.

Since then, the company has launched previously-flown Falcon 9 first stages over 24 times.

A SpaceX video shows a boat, with arms stretching beyond its width holding a net, floating on a dimly-lit ocean surface. The fairing drops gracefully down to Earth on a parachute and lands comfortably in the net, with a slight bounce.

Following the breaking away of the fairing once it reached space, thrusters and a guidance system guide the piece back to Earth, with parachutes deployed to slow its descent. The boat, Ms. Tree, equipped with the giant net, breaks the fairing’s fall.

Russian space officials have shifted from previously dismissing the financial benefits of a reusable rocket, to developing their own unique design bureau specifically for building reusable launch vehicles.

European scientists also previously rejected reusable rockets, but are now building their own Falcon 9-like rocket. The next Japanese rocket, following its new H3 booster, is likely to be reusable. A Chinese firm is developing its own model similar to Space X.

THE NEW GLOBAL ECONOMIC ORDER

Serving the Northern Sea Route, Atomflot Opens Bidding To Build Two Nuclear Icebreakers

Aug. 8 (EIRNS)—Despite the thinning of polar ice, keeping open a shipping corridor between Europe and Asia—the 6,000 km Arctic passage, called the Northern Sea Route—still requires icebreaking vessels. The trade lanes are used by cargo convoys for much of the year, a service for which Moscow charges shippers a toll.

Atomflot, a subsidiary of Rosatom, which runs Russia’s nuclear icebreaker fleet, posted an official tender in July for two new nuclear-powered icebreakers for a total price of $147 billion. The new orders represent an addition to three nuclear icebreakers that Russia already has under construction—the Arktika, the Sibir and Ural—all of which are expected to enter service by 2022. The two new icebreakers now under tender, which will be an extension of that line, are to launch by 2024 and 2026 respectively. Six icebreakers are already in operation, but the Arktika and Sibir are replacing vessels of the same name built in the late 1970s, which were decommissioned some years ago.

These three new vessels of the so-called LK-60Ya type are built to enormous dimensions. Each is up to 173 meters long, and is powered by twin RITM-200 reactors, which deliver a combined 175 MW of power—making them the most powerful civilian vessels in the world.

It is widely expected that the Baltic Shipyard in St. Petersburg—where the other three icebreakers are being built—will get the massive tender, although two other shipyards, one in Crimea and one in the Russian Far East, are expected to bid on the project as well.

What’s at Stake in Argentina’s Primary Elections on August 11

Aug. 8 (EIRNS)—Argentine primary elections will take place on Sunday, Aug. 11, the initial step in this year’s presidential elections; the first round of elections takes place on Oct. 27. Electoral slates are already determined, so the primary is, more than anything else, a reading on popular sentiment, in a very polarized situation.

Neoliberal President Mauricio Macri, who has savaged the nation’s economy and living standards under the tutelage of the International Monetary Fund, faces the “Fernández-Fernández” ticket—Alberto Fernández, presidential candidate, who was former chief of staff of former President Cristina Fernández de Kirchner, who is his vice-presidential running mate in the “Front For All.”

The backdrop to the election is the dire economic crisis and currency volatility, which has the Macri team of neoliberals running scared. Wall Street and the City of London are also eyeing the situation nervously, fearful that a Fernández-Fernández team will reverse current disastrous policy. Despite having been given the IMF’s permission to intervene in the currency markets—otherwise prohibited by the $57 billion standby agreement—Macri’s team hasn’t been able to halt the peso devaluation or high inflation. Industrial collapse, business closures, joblessness, homelessness, and popular anger are at all-time highs.

Former Central Bank Governor Mercedes Marcó del Pont, described the government’s bind, as it clings to what she called “suicidal” neoliberal policies. As reported by iProfesional Aug. 7, she warned that should another currency run occur anytime soon—there have been several this year—the $6 billion in dollars, which the IMF allows the Central Bank to sell to keep the exchange rate stable, simply won’t suffice.

Between now and Aug. 11, the government will continue to raise the interest rate to stabilize the currency, she said, and will do everything possible “so the currency markets don’t go wild.” Interest rates are now at 62%. And after September, she continued, when the IMF’s last tranche is disbursed, “the only thing left will be debt.” All the Fund can propose is further opening up of the economy—“no solution except more and more austerity.” The Fund is leaving the next constitutional government in an untenable situation, she warned, stating that if the Fernández-Fernández “Front For All” wins, it will have to renegotiate the current standby agreement “under different conditions.”
