Contact Congress Now as USMCA Makes Advances!
This past Monday, Mexico’s Senate passed a progressive labor reform bill, which brings us one step closer to the U.S. Congress ratifying the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement.
The labor reform package will transform unions in Mexico to be more democratic, making it so that, according to President Andrés Manuel López Obrador (AMLO), “the workers freely choose their leaders.” But in reality, it could coerce workers to join a union unwillingly.
Still Mexican lawmakers tout that the bill will “promote labor justice, democracy of unions, and collective bargaining,” like it’s positive.
In his article, “Mexico’s Collective Bargaining Law Paves Way for USMCA and North American Union,” Christian Gomez writes: “Once AMLO signs the bill into law, Mexico expects that the U.S. Congress will introduce a USMCA Implementation Act within a month to be voted on sometime in early summer of this year.”
Since congressional approval of the USMCA trade agreement would accelerate the development of a North American Union and destroy our national sovereignty, we need to contact Congress now in opposition to the USMCA.
Please phone your representative (202-225-3121) and senators (202-224-3121) and urge them to preserve our national sovereignty by voting no on the USMCA and preventing a North American Union.
Then, follow up by emailing them.
