Phase Change Sweeping Across America—‘Country Over Party’

Oct. 2 (EIRNS)—There is a rapidly escalating sense of reality rising in the hearts and minds of the American population, that a truly revolutionary change is not only necessary in this nation, but that it is possible. It began with the election of Donald Trump, an outsider to the politics of both political parties, and a fighter who was willing to take on the globalist institutions imposed on the nation by the British Empire—institutions which are “of the Empire, by the Empire and for the Empire.” Trump declared war on these institutions in his speech to the UN on Sept. 25—the WTO, the International Criminal Court, the Free Trade pacts, the Global Warming hoax, regime change under the cover of human rights, and more. Sovereignty, he said, has been lost, and must be restored, for all nations.

One of the most destructive of these British institutions is the two-party system itself. On Sept. 9, 2012, one day after his 90th birthday, Lyndon LaRouche spoke to those gathered at the celebration. Referring to the presidencies of George W. Bush and Barack Obama, he said: “President George Washington and others, at the founding of our republic, as an independent republic, tried to prevent the formation of a party system. And I think, the time has come, to eliminate the party system. At this time, it’s the only way, formally, through the legal process, that we could eliminate the possibility of these two kinds of Presidents…. We have a Constitution, which is defined, but why do we have to have parties intervening in between the process of selecting Presidential leadership in national government? What screwball invented this kind of nonsense? People become partisan, and say, which party wins is going to determine the fate of the nation! The idea of going to a European kind of government, which is inherently corrupt, by its very nature, not necessarily by the intention of the people, or the intention of the politicians, they just don’t know any better!” (see EIR, Sept. 21, 2012).

Indeed, the election of Trump demonstrated that the population was disgusted with the controlled environment of donkeys and elephants. However, as Trump told the throngs at his Tennessee rally on Monday, the Democrat Party has gone “loco” since the 2016 election, fully supporting the British coup attempt against the government of our country, pledging to impeach Trump if they can take over the Congress in the November midterm elections. They must therefore be defeated, which means voting for Republican candidates in November, to defend Trump and prevent the coup.

Trump therefore must fight for Republican candidates. However, Kesha Rogers’ Independent Congressional campaign in Houston, against the most obnoxious of the “impeachment” candidates, Al Green, is based on “country above party,” and the three points of the LaRouchePAC program to win America’s future—stop the coup; get the U.S. to join the New Silk Road; and implement LaRouche’s Four Laws. Some Republican candidates are endorsing that program, and are welcoming LaRouchePAC’s active support for their campaigns.

One Republican Senatorial candidate, John James of Michigan, a Black Army Ranger veteran, in a campaign video said it most clearly: “Look around you: blighted neighborhoods, failing schools, forgotten veterans, it’s disgraceful, and both parties are to blame. They pit Americans against each other, then they blame the other side when nothing gets done. Well, I’m tired of their B.S. I’m John James and I hate politics, but I approve this message because I love this country and I’m ready to serve.”

We must mobilize the entire country with this spirit, including emphatically the call to serve. It is a revolutionary moment in history. People have no reason not to drop whatever was on their agenda, and join Kesha Rogers’ campaign, either in Houston or in their hometowns. Join the LaRouchePAC Campaign To Win the Future, assuring that the impeachment party is defeated on Nov. 6 as a first step. Imagine a nation without poverty, working hand-in-hand with Russians, Chinese, Indians and others to build new cities on Earth and colonies on the Moon and Mars. Helga Zepp-LaRouche referred today to this truly patriotic spirit arising across the nation, saying: “Let’s create a miracle—we should only believe in miracles we make ourselves.”

U.S. POLITICAL AND ECONOMIC

Trump-Endorsed Senate Candidate in Michigan Runs Against Party System

Oct. 2 (EIRNS)—Michigan’s Republican candidate for Senate John James, running against incumbent Debbie Stabenow, released his first TV ad of the general election today: a 30-second blast at both parties for sinking the country.

The ad opens with shots of people walking down the street, one sighing that their insurance premium went up again; another that the VA doesn’t cover “that”; etc.

Enter the candidate, John James. He says, as his ad displays video shots of Michigan’s destroyed homes, ancient schools, and a homeless vet:

“We’ve got to do better than this. Look around you, blighted neighborhoods, failing schools, forgotten veterans.

“It’s disgraceful, and both parties are to blame. They pit Americans against each other, then they blame the other side when nothing gets done.

“Well I’m tired of their B.S. I’m John James and I hate politics, but I approve this message because I love this country and I’m ready to serve,” he concludes.

James is a 37-year-old West Point-trained Iraq War veteran, a Ranger-qualified aviation officer, who came back from war to run his family’s business. He defeated a Milton Friedman businessman in the Republican primary, building a grassroots machine which he claims is the largest in the country in this election cycle, and was endorsed by President Donald Trump, who then invited him to visit him in the Oval Office.

James argued in a recent short campaign video posted to his campaign site that his major focus is not the year 2018, but 2118—one hundred years from now.

His most recent such video touches on a theme elaborated more fully by Texas Independent Congressional candidate Kesha Rogers in her “Open Letter to the 9th District” of Texas, posted to her website. In James’ words, the Democrats are more interested in maintaining their power than eliminating poverty; the Democratic Party just wants to make poverty “comfortable.” We must “upscale our country’s labor force,” provide more opportunities, and get better education instead, to look out for our grandchildren, he urges.

Rogers’ “Open Letter” to her Texas district spells out how to accomplish what James would like to achieve, through Lyndon LaRouche’s famous Four Laws and the Belt and Road.

Tucker Carlson Book Hits Both Parties, Cultural Decay

Oct. 2 (EIRNS)—Fox News host Tucker Carlson had his book published today, adding his voice to the “damn both of your parties” sensibility which is emerging across the country. Titled Ship of Fools: How a Selfish Ruling Class Is Bringing America to the Brink of Revolution, the book has a picture of the “Ship of Fools” on the cover heading over a waterfall, which includes not only the Clintons, but also Democrats Maxine Waters and Nancy Pelosi, Republican Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell and Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg, neo-conservative Bill Kristol and Amazon chairman Jeff Bezos.

“The premise of the book is really simple: Why did Trump get elected?” Carlson said Monday in a telephone interview with the Florida paper Naples Daily News. “Satisfied countries aren’t going to vote Donald Trump into the White House. There has to be something profound going on for that to happen.” He said the breaking point came in 2015 when the “middle class died,” following the 2008 financial crash. “Democracies don’t work except in middle-class countries,” he writes.

The Naples paper writes: “Carlson pointed out how there’s something wrong when people with household incomes of $80,000 annually cannot afford to send their children to summer camp. Parents nowadays continue to provide money for their children after they move out and graduate from college. And student loan debt continues to skyrocket.”

“If I could sum it up, I would say that almost all of our political volatility stems from economic causes,” Carlson said in the phone interview. “The economy doesn’t work for most people. What’s going on is a small group of people is getting richer than anyone else has in human history and everyone else is languishing.”

“What I do is try to describe what is happening and my frustration in watching the news coverage,” Carlson said. “I’m very frustrated by the dumbness of it all.”

“Why are 23-year-old kids dying of fentanyl overdoses?” he asked. “Suicide rates for men are way up. People are struggling to pay basic things like medical bills. I’m just amazed that this all can be happening right in front of us.”

He said that the reason the media are so perverse is because most of the reporters “went to the same Ivy League schools as the people they cover. So they’re too close to their sources to understand what’s happening in the rest of America.”

“My argument at the core of the book is, all of this volatility is coming from the same place. All of these divides are not political divides; they’re economic divides. That’s the problem. People are seeing this through the wrong lens. This isn’t a partisan battle. We need a reckoning; we need to be honest about how we got here.”

What Will It Take To Defeat the Russiagate Coup, and Bring U.S. and Europe into the New Paradigm?

Oct. 2 (EIRNS)—The Schiller Institute announced its weekly strategic webcast with Helga Zepp LaRouche today, scheduled for Thursday, Oct 4, 3 p.m. (EDT).

Previewing the themes for that webcast, in a discussion yesterday, Zepp LaRouche identified the current crisis as one in which two contrasting dynamics have been unleashed, and are in direct conflict.  One is defined by the collapsing financial/geopolitical system in the trans-Atlantic region, in which the acceleration of the downward spiral is the factor driving desperate leaders of the failed paradigm to unleash more conflicts, increasing the danger of global warfare, including nuclear war.  At the same time, the New Paradigm associated with the global economic and diplomatic initiatives of the Belt and Road Initiative, and the BRICS, a paradigm of peace and development, is gaining momentum, as a growing number of nations are choosing the New Silk Road spirit, over the deadly course of imperial geopolitics.

The question posed to all citizens in the West is whether the United States and nations of Europe will act to break with the past, and thereby assure the success of the New Paradigm. President Donald Trump’s UN General Assembly speech a week ago today, sounded many of the same themes he voiced to win the 2016 election, including rejection of Southwest Asia wars and regime change policies, of the right of nations to sovereignty, and of ending the colonialist practices being imposed under the guise of “free trade.”  But despite these positive themes, and the courage he has shown in his ongoing battle against the British Empire-directed, corrupt officials from the Bush-Obama-Clinton network of intelligence operatives running Russiagate against him, the neo-cons and neo-liberals have not yet been defeated, and continue to assert a significant negative influence on U.S. and NATO policy, she said.

It is therefore necessary to escalate the fight to bring the authors of the regime-change coup attempt against President Trump to justice.  Trump’s order to declassify documents related to systemic illegal actions by top Department of Justice/FBI officials, combined with Congressional hearings into the May 2017 meeting (or meetings), during which—according to former FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe—Deputy Attorney General Rosenstein discussed a plan to remove Trump using the “25th Amendment,” will provide more evidence to shut down the coup.

Americans must take the Nov. 6 midterm elections as a point of mobilization to defeat the coup, and show that the United States is ready to join the New Paradigm.

STRATEGIC WAR DANGER

China Responds to U.S. Provocations in South China Sea

Oct. 2 (EIRNS)—China has responded vigorously to the “freedom of navigation” incident during which the guided missile destroyer USS Decatur sailed within 12 miles of Chinese-claimed reefs in the Spratly Islands on Sept. 30. Wu Qian, spokesman of China’s Ministry of National Defense, said today that China has indisputable sovereignty over the South China Sea islands and their adjacent waters, reported the China Daily. However, the U.S. sent vessels to enter the China South Sea without permission, threatening China’s sovereignty and security and harming the two countries’ and militaries’ relationship, as well as the region’s peace and stability.

Chinese Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Hua Chunying issued a similar statement criticizing the U.S. provocation. “We strongly urge the U.S. side to immediately correct its mistake and stop such provocative actions to avoid undermining China-U.S. relations and regional peace and stability,” she said. “The Chinese side will take all necessary measures to safeguard its national sovereignty and security.”

Nonetheless, Secretary of Defense James Mattis is downplaying the rising tensions between the U.S. and China, despite the spate of recent incidents and the cancellation of the U.S.-China 2+2 meeting, including Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and China’s Defense and Foreign Ministers, that had been set for Beijing later this month. “There’s tension points in the relationship, but based on discussions coming out of New York last week and other things that we have coming up, we do not see it getting worse,” Mattis told reporters traveling with him to Paris, reported Associated Press. “We’ll sort this out,” he said.

The incident with the USS Decatur in the South China Sea appears to be the most serious of such incidents in recent weeks, following as it did last week’s flights of two B-52s over the sea, the earlier U.S. sanctions imposed on China’s military procurement agency for buying Russian hardware, and the U.S. $330 million arms deal with Taiwan. Yesterday, a U.S. Pacific Fleet spokesman told CNN that the Chinese destroyer that was sent out in response to the Decatur’s presence came within 45 yards of the U.S. ship in an “unsafe and unprofessional maneuver.” The spokesman said the Chinese warship “conducted a series of increasingly aggressive maneuvers accompanied by warnings for the Decatur to depart the area.”

EU Commission Announces Anti-Chinese New Silk Road Plan

Oct. 2 (EIRNS)—In its attempt to counter China’s advances in Europe’s east and southeast, the European Commission is making big announcements about its plan, “Connecting Europe and Asia—Foundations for an EU Strategy.” The Eurocrats want to spend €123 billion for (non-Chinese) projects in eastern and southeastern Europe in the 2021-2027 period. It is, however, dubious that the promised funds will ever arrive there: Already now, €270 billion are sitting in a pile in Brussels, unused funds for projects never started, never planned.

The main reason is that such projects only exist as announcements on paper, or the recipient country does not have the required matching funds to apply for the money from Brussels. Furthermore, recipient governments are still obliged under EU law not to go into new debt with their national budgets, but to observe strict austerity.

The European Court of Auditors will document this absurdity in a coming report which criticizes the EU for failing to make constructive use of the funds. Last year, the backlog in the EU was €246 billion, and already this year it is €270 billion, with the tendency increasing. Unless the EU changes habits, its plan to counter China is a paper tiger. The Eurocrats will, however, continue sabotaging projects, which they have been doing since long before the first Chinese company appeared in East or Southeast Europe.

THE NEW GLOBAL ECONOMIC ORDER

Nigerian President Urges International Support for Restoring Lake Chad Basin, in UNGA Address

Oct. 2 (EIRNS)—In discussing the factors driving terrorism and migration in Africa during his Sept. 25 address to the UN General Assembly, Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari singled out the “consequences of a drastically shrunk Lake Chad and the parching up of otherwise fertile arable lands” as a major factor, as he called for “a rededicated international engagement to accelerate the recovery efforts in the Lake Chad Basin to address the root causes of the conflicts in the region.”

“The Lake was a major source of livelihood to more than 45 million inhabitants of the region,” he said. “Its shrinking meant loss of livelihoods and they are now rendered poor and vulnerable to the activities of extremists and terrorist groups. The instability thus caused in the sub-region intensified internal displacements leading, among other consequences, to intense economic competition especially between farmers and herdsmen.”

To eliminate that threat, “what is required is continuous and robust UN cooperation with national governments and sub-regional and regional organizations such as the Lake Chad Basin Commission, the Economic Community of West African States and the African Union, to enhance capacity in conflict prevention, conflict management and peace building,” he urged.

President Buhari did not name the great Transaqua project to replenish Lake Chad by transferring water from the Congo River Basin, by a means that creates navigable canals and hydropower, transforming the entire region in the process, but that Transaqua project was adopted unequivocally as the needed solution at the Feb. 26-28, 2018 International Conference on Lake Chad in Abuja, Nigeria, which was opened by President Buhari. Italy and China have been commissioned to prepare a study on the feasibility of that project, for which they are providing funding.

Erdogan’s Germany Visit Was a Success, Notwithstanding What the New York Times Fits To Print

Oct. 2 (EIRNS)—Writing in Al-Monitor news agency on Oct. 1, veteran columnist Cengiz Candar made clear that the truth about the outcome of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s Sept. 28-30 visit to Germany is opposite of what the New York Times wanted people to believe, and the visit has improved his country’s relations with Germany. Before returning to Turkey, Erdogan said in Cologne: “Grace to God Almighty, we have achieved a very productive, a very successful visit. In our talks with [President Frank-Walter] Steinmeier and [Chancellor Angela] Merkel, we covered the issues of common interest in frankness. I emphasized that, putting aside our differences of opinion, we have to focus on our common interests. We will enhance our cooperation in every field, ranging from the struggle against terrorist organizations to the refugee crisis, from conflict to trade wars.”

The New York Times report was just the opposite, and in all likelihood, deliberately so. In its Sept. 28 article, “In Erdogan’s Charm Offensive, Germans Find Offense,” the Times said, “if Mr. Erdogan was on a charm offensive, Germans seemed to agree that, after just 24 hours in Berlin, it was more offensive than charm.”

Rejecting out of hand the Times-spouted lies, Candar said Erdogan had a business breakfast with Chancellor Merkel in Berlin. “The outcome is that Merkel will be in Istanbul with French President Emmanuel Macron and Russian President Vladimir Putin for a four-nation summit on Syria.  Erdogan, by bringing together the leaders of Russia, France and Germany to Istanbul as the host and as the owner of the initiative on Syria, further postponed any imminent attack on Idlib. His visit to Germany was very fruitful and successful from this angle of international diplomacy,” Candar wrote. Moreover, German Economy Minister Peter Altmaier will head a big delegation to visit Turkey soon.

Malaysia’s Premier Mahathir Confirms, China’s Belt and Road Is Not Colonialism at All

Oct. 2 (EIRNS)—Following his address to the United Nations General Assembly on Sept. 28, where the Malaysian Prime Minister Dr. Mahathir Mohamad had championed the aspirations of the developing world and smaller non-aligned nations, and had warned of a “new version of colonialism” rising in Asia, the anti-China media around the world had concluded that the Malay premier was referring to China. In an interview with BBC’s “Hard Talk” program today, Dr. Mahathir popped the bubble of the China-bashers, saying he did not accuse the Chinese.

Asked directly if he saw the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) as a new form of colonialism, Mahathir replied “not at all,” South China Morning Post reported. He continued: “I merely said that there were other forms of colonialism and one of them was neocolonialism, [a term] which was coined by President Sukarno,” he said, referring to Indonesia’s late independence leader. He pointed out that the Chinese investors are “still coming, they still want to invest in Malaysia. … They’ve seen me, many of them have seen me recently and they don’t seem to be in any way angry with me because of what I said regarding colonialism.”

CORRECTION: In our Tuesday EIR Daily Alert item, “Belt and Road Executive Group for Sweden Launched,” the fifth paragraph, after the description of Kitty Smyth’s presentation, was inadvertently left out. The paragraph reads:

“The typical misunderstandings of the BRI in Swedish business circles were dissected by Ali Farmandeh, chairman of the China-Sweden Business Council (CSBC). The BRI is much, much more than Chinese production of Swedish goods. The New Silk Road is also not something far away, as many in northern corner of Europe think. Among the 70 member states of the BRI there are also neighbors in Europe, who are already building their parts of the world connectivity network, projects where Swedish businesses can take part immediately.”
