British All Out To Destroy Trump; ‘Sober’ World Promotes U.S.-Russia-China Cooperation, New Paradigm

Feb. 7 (EIRNS)—Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi, asked by an Australian journalist how concerned he was that there would be a war between the U.S. and China, responded that President Donald Trump and President Xi Jinping had spoken, and that both “agreed 100%” that U.S.-China relations would be “very positive,” and that “any sober-minded politician” recognizes that “there cannot be conflict between China and the United States, because both will lose and both sides cannot afford that.” Wang continued that China assesses official policy from the U.S., not “campaign rhetoric.”

There is little sobriety in England these days, nor in the frantic, discredited Obama camp in the U.S. The Economist, a primary voice for the City of London and the Monarchy in the U.K., runs a cover story this week with Donald Trump throwing a molotov cocktail, under the headline: “An Insurgent in the White House.” They emphasize that “American allies are worried, and rightly so.” Their concern is that the network of treaties and trade agreements which Trump is treating with disdain “form a system that binds America to its allies and projects its power across the world.”

Precisely. Here is the British Empire admitting that they have used the U.S. as the dumb giant, using its military and economic power to sustain the British Empire, based on the geopolitical premise that the world must remain divided, East vs. West. Now, not only is Trump making peace with the supposed “enemy,” Russia and China, but London is terrified that this will impact every other country which has been forced until now to follow the Empire’s military and economic dictates. As The Economist bluntly writes: “Countries that are dissatisfied with the world will be tempted to change it.”

Heaven forbid!

The Empire is clearly out to kill, as they have done repeatedly with U.S. Presidents who defended America’s founding principles against the evil of the British Empire. London’s Obama and his minions have launched a series of “color revolution” actions across the United States aimed at bringing Trump down. As for molotov cocktails, it was not Trump, but black-clad anarchists who were throwing them at the police last week in Berkeley, California, to break up a pro-Trump event. Former high-level Obama officials have mobilized two “friend of the court” briefs to support the Washington state judge who shut down Trump’s immigration order, quite openly acknowledging that this was just a convenient means to activate a color revolution against the government. Trump’s actions are “un-American,” they scream, while saying nothing about Obama’s thousands of extrajudicial drone killings, “regime-change” wars in league with terrorists, and threats of world war against Russia and China. In fact, one of the briefs was drafted by Harold Koh, infamous as Obama’s lawyer who issued the legal opinion that Obama’s drone killings were legal, essentially spitting on the Constitution and international law.

While Trump has denounced many of the most egregious of the Obama policies which have destroyed the nation’s economy and left the country hated in much of the world, Lyndon and Helga LaRouche have called on him to also expose one of the most evil of Obama’s evil deeds: the orchestration of a fascist coup against the elected government of Ukraine in 2014, which was then used in Obama’s effort to provoke a war on Russia. EIR has documented in great detail the open support from Obama and his agent Victoria Nuland for the swastika-carrying neo-Nazis who led that violent coup. Even Poland’s former Prime Minister Jaroslaw Kaczynski today denounced the Ukraine government for their continued support for the backers of Stepan Bandera—Hitler’s collaborator in Ukraine, who continue to parade in the streets with Bandera’s banners and brutalize any political opposition.

The world is primed for a sweeping away of the British Empire once and for all. As Helga LaRouche said last week, if President Trump brings the U.S. into cooperation with Russia in defeating terrorism, and brings the U.S. into cooperation with China in the New Silk Road process of nation-building in every corner of the Earth, he will be remembered as one of the great leaders of all history. We must all act with all our human creativity to bring that beautiful result to pass.

U.S. POLITICAL AND ECONOMIC

Team Obama Launches Judicial Assaults on Trump Government

Feb. 7 (EIRNS)—Two different amici curiae briefs have been filed on behalf of Washington state’s suit against the Trump Administration’s immigration ban by leading figures from the Obama team and George Soros’s stable. Neither are concerned about immigrants; these actions are openly flaunted as merely the first skirmish in a broader, all-front war to bring down the Trump Administration on behalf of the good old days of the last 16 years of Hell in the United States.

Take the six-page brief filed by 10 former national security officials. It charges that the ban was “ill-conceived, poorly implemented and ill-explained,” and was not approved by “career professionals.” Who wrote the brief? Yale Prof. Harold Koh, the State Department legal advisor during Obama’s first term who wrote the “legal” defense of Obama’s illegal and inhumane program of extrajudicial assassinations by extensive use of drones; who trained Bush torture-advocate John Yoo, served on the board of George Soros’s Human Rights Watch, and defended negotiating with Colombia’s FARC narco-terrorists as a State Department official.

The brief was signed by Madeleine Albright, seven former Obama officials from top CIA, counterterrorism, national security and homeland security posts (Susan Rice, Avril Haines, Lisa Monaco, Michael Morell, Leon Panetta, Janet Napolitano, and John Kerry), and two top Bush officials (Michael Hayden and John McLaughlin).

The Washington Post brazenly admitted in an article, today, that the brief was filed as “part of a nascent movement seeking to match ongoing public protests with the efforts of former government insiders who are willing to formally challenge Trump Administration words and actions.” Ex-President Obama, the Post recalled, had on Jan. 27 called for mass protests against Trump.

A second, 23-page amicus curiae brief was filed by 16 Democratic State Attorneys General. This brief was put together by New York State Attorney General Eric Schneiderman, who, Politico reported on Feb. 3, set up a “Get Trump” war room in his office immediately after the election, with instructions to his staff to prepare to amass material, in order to move against Trump as soon as any opportunity presented. Politico called Schneiderman “the leader of the Trump resistance,” asking in its headline, “Will This Man Take Down Donald Trump?”

The New York Times published (Feb. 6) other details on Schneiderman’s organizing of a network of Democratic Party state Attorneys General to function as a “fourth branch of government” (in the words of New Mexico AG Hector Balderas). The Washington state amicus curiae brief is “the first test of the Democratic legal apparatus under the new administration,” Schneiderman told the Times. Hillary Clinton sycophant Debbie Wasserman-Schultz has “exhorted” Schneiderman’s group to see itself as “a last line of defense,” according to the Times. No surprise: George Soros’s son, Alex, has been publicly hailing Schneiderman as a courageous fighter against Trump, at least since their August 2016 meeting.

Oliver Stone Calls for Declassification of Secret Documents on U.S. Role in Ukraine Coup

Feb. 7 (EIRNS)—“If I were President Trump, I would declassify all this information on Ukraine, as well as Syria, but above all Ukraine, because it’s the focal point of where this [new] Cold War has come about,” filmmaker Oliver Stone stated in an interview with Russia’s Channel One which aired Sunday on the Vremya news and analysis program, Sputnik reported yesterday.

Stone co-produced a documentary called “Ukraine on Fire” in 2016, which ripped up the establishment narrative that Russia is the cause of the Ukraine conflict. Americans do not know the historical backdrop to what happened in Ukraine, Stone told his Channel One interviewers. “Ukraine was one of the main objectives of the CIA” since the start of the Cold War, with the U.S. providing covert aid to militia and dissident groups since the late 1940s. Likewise, Americans don’t know about the “color revolution” techniques employed by the Obama Administration in the run-up to the Maidan uprising, which involved financing, propaganda, etc.

Stone also called the current resurgence of hostilities in eastern Ukraine “disgusting,” and charged that the Kiev regime was trying to get Trump to provide it with financial and other assistance.

COLLAPSING WESTERN FINANCIAL SYSTEM

London Economist Throws a Fit about President Trump

Feb. 7 (EIRNS)—The cover of London’s The Economist this week is a picture of President Donald Trump poised to throw a molotov cocktail. Beneath is the headline: “America’s President: An Insurgent in the White House.”

What is most striking is that they are warning that press threats will not work, while demonstrating to the rest of the country, which actually elected Donald Trump, the veracity of the charge that an elite establishment is out to destroy the “Forgotten Man.” What this editorial makes abundantly clear, is that its old, “globalized” world is over. The tone is striking. This imperial faction is warning that, between Trump and Steve Bannon, this is not a temporary problem that will go away, no matter what the almighty press may say.

Here are excerpts:

“As Donald Trump rages against the world he inherited as President, America’s allies are worried and rightly so…. The more Mr. Trump used his stump speeches to offend polite opinion, the more his supporters were convinced that he really would evict the treacherous, greedy elite from their Washington salons. His grenade-chuckers-in-chief, Stephen Bannon and Stephen Miller, have now carried that logic into government….

“Without active American support and participation, the machinery of global co-operation could well fail. The World Trade Organization would not be worthy of the name. The UN would fall into disuse. Countless treaties and conventions would be undermined. Although each one stands alone, together they form a system that binds America to its allies and projects its power across the world. Because habits of co-operation that were decades in the making cannot easily be put back together again, the harm would be lasting. In the spiral of distrust and recrimination, countries that are dissatisfied with the world will be tempted to change it, if necessary by force….

“Moderate Republicans and America’s allies need to tell him [President Trump] why Mr. Bannon and his co-ideologues are wrong. Even in the narrowest sense of American self-interest, their appetite for bilateralism is misguided, not least because the economic harm from the complexity and contradictions of a web of bilateral relations would outweigh any gains to be won from tougher negotiations. Mr. Trump also needs to be persuaded that alliances are America’s greatest source of power. Its unique network plays as large a role as its economy and its military might in making it the global superpower. Alliances help raise it above its regional rivals China in East Asia, Russia in Eastern Europe, Iran in the Middle East.”

American Banker Warns: Without Dodd-Frank, Glass-Steagall Could Come In

Feb. 7 (EIRNS)—American Banker’s Washington bureau chief Rob Blackwell warned bankers in a column last night, that their enthusiasm for tearing up Dodd-Frank could well usher in something much worse, at least in their eyes: the return to FDR’s Glass-Steagall.

American Banker, a voice of the financial “industry” since 1836, suggests bankers think about “the political long game.” Blackwell reminds his financier readers that [Obama’s] Dodd-Frank “was not a law built to dramatically reinterpret the financial system. Policymakers like former Rep. Barney Frank D-Mass., then-Treasury Secretary Tim Geithner and former Sen. Chris Dodd, D-Conn., were far more interested in preserving the existing system than tearing it down.” Hillary Clinton, too, campaigned only for modest reforms of the law.

Thus, bankers happy about President Trump’s assault on Dodd-Frank, had better wake up to the fact that “there is a significant downside to what’s going on, one that might not be clear to banks until it’s too late.” Dodd-Frank’s elimination “could lead to far more drastic consequences. Items like big-bank breakups, higher capital requirements and a restoration of the Glass-Steagall Act, which separated commercial and investment banking, may ultimately be back on the agenda.”

STRATEGIC WAR DANGER

Polish Leader Warns Ukraine To Stop the Neo-Nazis

Feb. 7 (EIRNS)—The glorification of Stepan Bandera and other Nazi collaborators will prevent Ukraine’s integration with the European Union, Jaroslaw Kaczynski, leader of Poland’s ruling Law and Justice Party, warned.

In his interview with weekly Do Rzeczy, as reported in RT, Kaczynski said: “I plainly told President Poroshenko that they won’t make it to Europe with Bandera. It’s absolutely clear to me. We’ve already shown great patience, but everything has its limits,” he said.

“It’s the case of Ukraine’s specific choice,” he continued, referring to the government’s toleration, or even open support, for the neo-Nazi organizations which continue to praise and emulate Stepan Bandera, who collaborated with the Nazis during World War II.

RT reports that Bandera was leader of the militant arm of the Organization of Ukrainian Nationalists (OUN) during the beginning of World War II. He was arrested by the Nazis, but released, and then was the leader of the Ukrainian Insurgent Army (UPA) which fought the Polish Armija Krajowa and the Red Army in Western Ukraine.

According to Kaczynski, the Ukrainian nationalists “surpassed the Germans in their brutality against the Poles” in their campaign of ethnic cleansing carried out by Bandera’s UPA in 1943-44.

The 108th anniversary since Bandera’s birth in early January was marked by torch rallies, which went on unhampered by the authorities, and gathered thousands of people in Ukrainian capital Kiev and the port city of Odessa, RT said, led by the Right Sector and other far-right groups which also led the Maidan coup in 2014.

Lavrov: Iran Is a Valuable Anti-Terrorism Partner

Feb. 7 (EIRNS)—Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, during a joint press conference yesterday in Moscow with Venezuela Foreign Minister Delcy Rodríguez, thoroughly refuted the notion, emanating from Washington in recent days, that Iran is a “leading sponsor” of terrorism. In fact, Lavrov demonstrated, the opposite is true, in that Iran is fighting ISIS and Al Qaeda, the two groups, in particular, that President Trump has pledged to wipe out.

“President Trump has repeatedly stated during his campaign and afterwards, already in office, that the threat of international terrorism represented by the so-called Islamic State is the key foreign policy issue,” Lavrov said. “If this is the case, and we share that goal just like the vast majority of other countries, then we must keep in mind that Iran has never had any relationship with ISIS or Jabhat al-Nusra, or any other group affiliated with these terrorist organizations and included on the corresponding UNSC list.”

“We have long been talking about the need (President Putin mentioned it at the UN General Assembly session in 2015) to form a truly universal front against terrorism,” Lavrov continued. “All those who see ISIS as an existential threat to many countries should act in a coordinated manner under one umbrella. I am convinced that if we use an objective approach to potential participants of such a coalition, Iran, of course, should be part of our common efforts.”

Lavrov went on to point out that a recent review by the Financial Action Task Force On Money Laundering, of whether Iran is complying with its obligations, found no major complaints. “Moreover, this review found that Iran is doing its best and working in the right direction,” Lavrov said. “So, I think we’d better focus on the facts.”

THE NEW GLOBAL ECONOMIC ORDER

President Assad Affirms, Russia-U.S. Collaboration Will Benefit Syria and Whole World

Feb. 7 (EIRNS)—In an interview with Belgian media today, Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, said that cooperation between Russia and the United States would be beneficial for Syria and the entire world. “What we heard as statements by Trump during the (election) campaign and after the campaign are promising regarding the priority of fighting terrorists, and mainly ISIS, that’s what we’ve been asking for during the last six years. So, I think this is promising; we have to wait; it’s still early to expect anything practical,” Assad said in the interview posted on the website of the Damascus’ official Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA).

“It could be about the cooperation between the U.S. and Russia that we think is going to be positive for the rest of the world, including Syria,” the President remarked. “So, as I said, it’s still early to judge it.”

Belgian MPs Say EU Should Help Syrians, and Drop Sanctions against Russia

Feb. 7 (EIRNS)—A delegation of Belgian parliamentarians visited a refugee camp in Aleppo yesterday, and called for the end of sanctions against both Syria and Russia, reports TASS. “Sanctions against Syria should be removed as soon as possible so that the Syrians could start receiving medical assistance and the necessary aid. We should apologize for the long inaction of our countries,” said Belgian Rep. Filip Dewinter. Another member of the Belgian House of Representatives, Rep. Frank Creyelman, who, like Dewinter, is a member of the Flemish Vlaams Belang party, emphasized the need to lift sanctions not only on Syria but on Russia as well.

“Your country has been subject to European sanctions while providing humanitarian aid to Syria,” he said, addressing Russians.

Creyelman made a particular point about the distortions in the Western media about the conditions on the ground in Aleppo. “I expected to see only ruins here and no sign of survivors. This is what the situation should be like, according to our media. But in fact, I see that Russia is doing the work that European countries should be doing, particularly, feeding starving children,” Creyelman said.

This morning, the Russian Defense Ministry reported that the United Nations, the International Committee of the Red Cross, and Syrian Arab Red Crescent sent a convoy of 31 vehicles carrying relief supplies to the town of Talbiseh in Homs province. The ministry also reported that Russian aircraft delivered nearly 80 tons of food from the United Nations by parachute to besieged Deir ez-Zor, last week, while Russian troops delivered 3.5 tons of food and other supplies to civilians in both Aleppo and Damascus over Feb. 5-6.

Council for Joint Economic Operations on Southern Kuril Islands Set Up in Japan

Feb. 7 (EIRNS)—Japanese Foreign Minister Fumio Kishida announced at a news conference, the creation of a Council for Joint Economic Operations between Russia and Japan on the Southern Kuril Islands. He said that he would chair the entity personally.

Hiroshige Seko, a Deputy Minister of Economy, Commerce and Industry, who currently supervises economic cooperation with Russia in the Tokyo government, will be deputy head of the new council. TASS also reports that well-informed sources say that other positions will be filled by high-ranking officials from other government departments, including from the ministries for finance, agriculture and fishing.

“We hope to get down to tackling the problems of joint economic operations on the islands through the efforts of our entire government,” Kishida said. There could be joint projects in the areas of fisheries, seafood farming, tourism, and nature conservation, which would not call into question Russia and Japan’s fundamental positions as regards the sovereignty over the Islands.

Their dispute over the islands, called the Southern Kurils by Russia and the Northern Territories by Japan, has hampered the completion of a final peace treaty since World War II between the two countries.  President Vladimir Putin and Prime Minister Shinzo Abe have made breathtaking advances in their relations since they met in Sochi in May 2016.

German Intelligence: No Evidence of Hackers Being Russian

Feb. 7 (EIRNS)—Leaked first by the Süddeutsche Zeitung daily, and since then reported all over the media in Germany: The country’s foreign intelligence agency, Bundesnachrichtendienst (BND) and other German intelligence agencies that have looked into numerous hacking incidents in Germany during 2016, have found no evidence that the hacking was done by Russians, or that it originated from Russia. There has been no political manipulation of German developments by Russia. The report, which was originally planned by the BND on the issue upon insistence of the government and leading politicians, has been rather shamefully withdrawn. The entire propaganda campaign against “Putin’s hackers,” who allegedly planned to manipulate the elections in Germany this year, has miserably collapsed.
