Netanyahu goes to war with the world

Op-ed: Resolution 2334 was the ‘straw that broke the camel’s back,’ the PM says, the act of anti-Israel bias that will prompt a fundamental shift in the way the international community treats Israel. But his anticipated agent of change is more than three weeks away, and an awful lot can happen in the interim

ed note–the jury is still out as to exactly why Obama allowed this unprecedented event–the US abstaining from vetoing the recent UNSC vote against Israeli settlements–to take place.

Of the several possibilities we have–

1. Emergency CPR on America’s image as an ‘honest broker’ of peace in the Middle East.

2. Done to de-legitimize Russia’s standing in the aftermath of Aleppo and try and rob her of some of her well-deserved laurels in defeating the capital of ISIS in Syria

3. Obama’s parting shot at Likud before leaving office.

Personally, I think it is a mixture of all of the above.

One thing is for sure however, which is that what has just taken place has just given Trump a huge amount of leverage against Netanyahu, as underscored by those sections in the article itself, to wit–

‘The prime minister’s hope is that he can stave off further, and still more devastating, potential diplomatic defeat at the hands of the outgoing Obama administration via a mixture of pleas, threats and boycotts. On the horizon, he sees the incoming administration of Donald J. Trump. For Netanyahu, it cannot arrive soon enough.’

In other words, immediately upon taking office, Netanyahu will be forced to meet with Trump in an inferior and supplicating position, as Trump has Netanyahu by the short hairs. Netanyahu will be in no position to demand anything and whatever Trump gives, it will be only with conditions attached to it, irrespective of whatever he has ‘tweeted’. Lest we forget, Trump has been a moving target since day one, a strategy that has confounded, confused and infuriated the Jews in their ability to nail him down on any position and evidenced by the writer’s very clear acknowledgement, to wit–

‘Netanyahu, and those advising him, might be sensibly dismayed by Trump’s dispassionate response to the setback. Initially, at least, there was no fervent defense of Jerusalem as Israel’s capital, no pledge to reverse the pernicious decree, just a mild, rather ho-hum tweet on Friday, that the “big loss yesterday for Israel in the United Nations will make it much harder to negotiate peace. Too bad, but we will get it done anyway!”’

However, keep in mind something else–Netanyahu and the Siccari making up Likud view this latest act as nothing short of a declaration of war against Israel’s dreams of fulfilling the dictates of the Torah in taking possession of all the land between the Nile and Euphrates as they believe their ‘god’–Yahweh, commanded the Jews to do. Netanyahu described this vote as the ‘swan song’ of Israel’s enemies, swan song being defined thus–

‘A metaphorical phrase for a final gesture, effort, or performance given just before death or retirement. The phrase refers to an ancient belief that swans sing a beautiful song in the moment just before death, having been silent (or alternatively, not so musical) during most of their lifetime. This belief, whose basis in actuality is long-debated, had become proverbial in Ancient Greece by the 3rd century BC, and was reiterated many times in later Western poetry and art.’

Despite the manner in which it is being painted in the JMSM now, that Netanyahu is waging a ‘diplomatic’ war against those who voted for this resolution, all can rest assured that this will not be limited to mere words and that Nutty Netty and his gang are making their plans for something much more dramatic, or, as he is quoted as saying in this piece herein– “We will respond with power.”
