Remove the Factor Leading To Nuclear War—Obama

Nov. 30 (EIRNS)—The necessity to remove Barack Obama from Presidential authority, in order to prevent an otherwise oncoming nuclear confrontation of the United States with Russia and China, was made dramatically clear by events and warnings today.

Following Obama’s (and NATO’s) aggressive public support for Turkey’s provocative act of war against Russia, his meeting today with Putin at the Paris conference was an escalation. According to both the White House and Kremlin reports of the meeting, Obama reiterated his insistence that Syrian President Assad “must go” as precondition for any cooperation against terrorist gangs in Syria; that Russia must join the “U.S. led coalition” and must stop bombing in the areas of strength of al-Nusra and other jihadi groups being armed by Saudi Arabia, Turkey, the United States and Britain. Obama disregards the views and reports of military and military intelligence, to continue escalating the confrontation with Vladimir Putin.

A Russian strategic analyst writing in Sputnik today warned that the Turkish provocation, backed by NATO and by Obama, is pushing the world toward a confrontation like that of the 1962 Cuban Missiles Crisis—this time not with a JFK to resolve the situation, but with his opposite, the arrogant drone killer Obama.

And a senior Chinese expert on Eurasian affairs, based in Hong Kong, gave an even more dramatic warning: If Obama continues to conduct provocations in the South China Sea, China may well respond “asymmetrically,” with nuclear war.

EIR Founding Editor Lyndon LaRouche, insisting there is no way out but Obama’s rapid removal from office, said today, “Putin was right in estimating his position vis-à-vis Obama. There will be no change of course or backing down by Putin; and he understands fully, that no cooperation is possible with Obama. Putin is not experimenting. He is determined, and looking at the confrontation from a global standpoint. It is Obama’s White House, which is making serious blunders, but everything it is doing, is with full intention.”

This was LaRouche’s emphatic point about Chinese Professor Zhang Baohui’s warning of a U.S.-China nuclear war triggered by Obama’s provocations. This analysis of the situation is “absolutely right,” LaRouche noted, but for one thing—the nuclear confrontation is not “unintentional” or an “error” on Obama’s part.

“Obama does know what he is doing,” LaRouche said. “He is a killer, and British-controlled.”

Obama is threatening nuclear war, arrogantly believing in a Russian or Chinese “backdown” which does not exist.

“But he can lose his grip on the situation, if challenged by people and forces moving to get him out of office. That is the mission—if we can do it in time.”

STRATEGIC WAR DANGER

Obama Continues Confrontation with Putin at Paris Meeting

Nov. 30 (EIRNS)—An Obama White House official told White House reporters today that President Obama met with President Putin at the COP21 Summit in Paris, and continued to insist on the removal of Syrian President Assad from power.

While Obama is said to have reiterated the United States’ support for de-escalation between Russia and Turkey, Obama also “reiterated his belief that it will be necessary for Bashar al-Assad to leave power as a part of the transition, and stressed the imperative of focusing military efforts against ISIL, as our international coalition is doing, rather than targeting moderate opposition,” as Obama claims Russia is doing.

The fraud of Obama’s claims of “targetting ISIL” is well established by recent admissions and revelations about Turkey’s and U.S. intelligence activities facilitating ISIS; and the admission by a former U.S. intelligence official that Obama left ISIL’s extensive oil operations untouched for 16 months until Russia attacked them.

But Obama’s continuing insistence, against Russia, that Assad must go before ISIL, and that Russia is not part of the alleged U.S.-led coalition, is—after the Turkish act of war backed by Obama—an escalation by Obama toward a threatened nuclear war confrontation with Russia.

Vladimir Putin, speaking to reporters after his bilateral meetings with Obama and others, said that Russia has grounds to suspect that the Russian aircraft was downed to secure illegal oil deliveries from Syria to Turkey, TASS reported today. “We have recently received additional reports that confirm that that oil from ISIL-controlled territories is delivered to the territory of Turkey on an industrial scale.”

He said of his bilateral meetings: “All the colleagues listened very attentively and most of them at least share the opinion that there had been no need to attack the unprotected Russian bomber, which was of no threat to Turkey.” He did not meet with Turkish President Erdogan.

Warning of New Cuban Missiles Crisis

Nov. 30 (EIRNS)—“Turkey Paves Way for Another Cuban Crisis,” is the stark title of a Nov. 29 warning article in Sputnik by political analyst Pyotr Iskenderov of Russia’s Strategic Culture Foundation, subtitled, “Asking for Trouble: Erdogan Drags Europe Into New ‘Cuban Missile Crisis’?”

Iskenderov’s warning points first to what happened on Nov. 24: “Turkey’s unprecedented provocation could well lead to a standoff reminiscent of the darkest days of the Cold War”; unprecedented because no Russian military aircraft has been shot down by a NATO member country in the Alliance’s history. It also warns about the immediate future, and Obama’s role backing Turkey. “Turkey decided to shoot down the Russian bomber because President Recep Tayyip Erdogan is confident that NATO and particularly the U.S. will back him no matter what happens. The desire to exploit the contradictions between great powers has always been an instrument of the (Neo)Ottoman Empire’s policy.”

There is some mooting of a blocking by Turkey of the Bosphorus Strait to Russian vessels resupplying its forces fighting terrorists in Syria. This, however, would not be tolerated by Russia; and Erdogan’s position, should he try to order it, might be quite weak with his own command.

A shipping line tracking site, marinetraffic.com, reported Monday that Russian-flagged vessels are now being delayed by Turkey while seeking to pass the Bosphorus Strait. The Kiev-based Center for Transport Strategies reported this publicly: “On Sunday Russian vessels were moving on a zig-zag and curved course, waiting for hours for permission to cross the Strait. Movements of vessels from other countries were not delayed.”

Hong Kong Professor: Obama Threatens Nuclear War with China

Nov. 30 (EIRNS)—Zhang Baohui, a Professor of Political Science and Director of the Centre for Asian Pacific Studies at Lingnan University in Hong Kong who has written extensively on China’s nuclear capabilities, issued a strong warning to Obama that he is provoking a conflict that could quickly become a nuclear war.

Writing in RSIS Commentary South China Sea Series Nov. 12 issue, Zhang says that when Obama sent a U.S. battleship within the 12-mile limit around China’s newly constructed islands in the South China Sea on Oct. 27, “China did not take concrete action this time to confront the U.S. warship, [but] future such operations could gravely destabilize the South China Sea situation and even the peace and stability of the whole region. They could touch off an unintended escalation and push the two countries towards military conflict. The logic is quite obvious.

“More actions by the U.S. Navy will corner the Chinese leadership and force them to respond to perceived provocations to its national interests and power reputation. After all, the South China Sea constitutes an essential part of China’s geostrategic interests…. Further, China may feel the urge to stand firm to deter future escalation in U.S. challenges to its interests and reputation.”

Zhang quotes both Vice Adm. Yi Xiaoguang, the PLA deputy chief of staff, who said that China “will use all means necessary to defend its sovereignty” if the U.S. takes similar actions, and Gen. Fan Changlong, vice-president of the Central Military Commission of the CCP, who told PACCOM commander Adm. Harry Harris, that any future actions by the U.S. Navy could trigger accidental escalations that harm the interests of both countries.

The Chinese have since expanded military exercises in the region and released photos of sea-based strategic missiles carried on their nuclear subs, “meant to deter the U.S.,” Zhang says.

“It is highly likely,” Zhang writes, “that U.S. decision-makers assume China would adopt a policy of inaction when facing intruding American naval vessels. This U.S. expectation is flawed, as China is a major nuclear power. When cornered, nuclear-armed states can threaten asymmetric escalation to deter an adversary from harming its key interests. The Sept. 3 military parade in Beijing revealed that China’s new generation of tactical missiles, such as the DF-26, can be nuclear-armed. Recent information also indicates that China’s air-launched long-range cruise missiles can also carry tactical nuclear warheads. Indeed, the latest photos of the JL-2 sea-based nuclear missile lifting off from the sea could be a veiled nuclear signal sent by China to deter the U.S.”

“When a crisis situation escalates and starts to involve potential nuclear scenarios,” he writes, “the U.S. faces the stark choice of either backing down first or facing the prospect of fighting a nuclear-armed China.”

Professor Zhang concludes that both sides must consider the worst-case scenarios. “Both China and the U.S. need to consider how their actions may lead to unintended consequences, especially unintended escalation towards military conflict…. Nobody, especially countries in the region, wants this scenario.”

Lyndon LaRouche noted that this analysis is “absolutely right,” except that such a consequence would not be “unintended” on Obama’s part; his intention is to force China and Russia to back down, or go to war.

After Paris Attack, Another TV Special on Releasing the Redacted 28 Pages on Saudi Role in 9/11

Nov. 30 (EIRNS)—On Nov. 29th, Sharyl Attkisson, the aggressive investigative TV journalist who sued the Justice Department for illegally monitoring her computer at CBS TV, aired a 9-minute special segment on her show, “Full Measure,” about the Saudi role in terrorism, the 28 redacted pages, and Barack Obama’s stonewalling on releasing those pages. Attkisson introduced the topic by saying that this important issue is being aired in the context of the recent attacks by ISIS.

Attkisson interviewed Rep. Stephen Lynch (D-MA), a co-sponsor of H.R.14, the resolution to release the 28 pages, first introduced by Rep. Walter Jones (R-NC). She also aired footage from the Jan. 7, 2015 press conference organized by Rep. Jones, that showed former Sen. Bob Graham (D-FL), who co-chaired the Joint Congressional Inquiry committee that produced the report that included the 28 pages.

“The Saudis know what they did, and they know that we know what they did,” Senator Graham said. “The position of the United States government has been to protect Saudi Arabia, at virtually every step of the judicial process.”

Immediately following Graham’s accusation about protecting the Saudis, the show cut to a picture of Obama shaking hands with a group of Saudis with the voice-over saying, “Could the 28 pages unravel the alliance between the U.S. and a close Arab ally in the Mideast?”

Why are the pages classified? Representative Lynch says, “Having read the 28 pages … [I think it is] to allow those individuals to escape accountability.”

Attkisson ended with a report on the many Congressional supporters of H.R.14, and a statement from former Congressman Pete Hoekstra (R-MI), the former ranking member of the House Select Committee on Intelligence. “I really can’t come up with a good reason to keep the pages classified,” Hoekstra says.

Spanish Power Firm Takes ‘Climate Action,’ Straight to Bankruptcy

Nov. 30 (EIRNS)—In Paris the talk, by Bill Gates, Maurice Strong, and other climate-change luminaries, was of “the end of the fossil fuel era,” to be brought about by huge investments in green energy technologies some of which haven’t even been invented yet. Not nuclear fission or fusion technologies, of course, but “real green” renewables.

But in Seville, the story was rather ironically different. Spain’s biggest solar power company, Abengoa, was on the edge of declaring Spain’s biggest bankruptcy on Nov. 30. The 70-year-old company, with 25,000 employees, was for most of its history a producer of electric power equipment, plants, and transmission systems.

But in the past few years, lured by the big “renewable energy” subsidies available in the United States, Europe, and other countries, Abengoa went deep into debt to invest: more than $3 billion in solar and wind projects in the United States, including the world’s biggest “parabolic trough plant” called Solana in Arizona; $2.45 billion in wind farms in Brazil; $1.45 billion in “smart grid” development to fine-tune renewable energy sources; and hundreds of millions more in ethanol production projects.

With perfect timing for the Paris COP21 conference, Abengoa entered insolvency proceedings today, its stock value or “market cap” having completely disappeared—thus providing a perfect example for the scores of heads of state in Paris, of what COP21 is offering them.

Under Spanish law the bankruptcy, as described in Forbes and market report “Seeking Alpha” Nov. 30, gives Abengoa four months to find a buyer or be liquidated.

China’s Plan To End Poverty by 2020—70 Million More To Go

Nov. 30 (EIRNS)—China’s top leadership met in Beijing on Nov. 27-28 to work out concrete plans for their goal of ending poverty in the country by 2020. Having lifted 700 million up from poverty over the past 30 years (that is the figure given by Xinhua on Nov. 29—up from the 600 million often quoted), there are still 70 million Chinese living in poverty.

Xi Jinping emphasized that it is not only income, but overall standard of living that must be addressed. This includes adequate food and clothing, compulsory education, health service and housing.

Xi told the conference that, while it is “an arduous task,” that “no single poor region nor an individual living in poverty will be left behind” when the country accomplishes the goal of “building a moderately prosperous society” by 2020. He said that per-capita disposable income of farmers in poor areas should grow in a pace faster than the national average, and basic public services for the areas should almost be up to the national average criteria, according to Xinhua.

“Industrial development is key to poverty alleviation,” Xi said, calling for local resources to be well utilized to develop industries and ensure employment for the jobless peasants.

Premier Li Keqiang also addressed the conference, saying that priority must be given to the improvement of rural infrastructure, including roads, access to water, power and Internet. He said that about 10 million people will be lifted out of poverty through relocation.

India Blasts COP21 as Carbon Imperialism; Other Attacks on Global Warming Hoax Flourish in U.K., Africa

Nov. 30 (EIRNS)—Arvind Subramanian, the chief economic advisor to the Modi government in India, on the eve of the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) COP21 green fascist bash in Paris, issued a call for a “Manhattan Project For Coal,” and called the campaign to end the use of fossil fuels “carbon imperialism.”

Subramanian explained that “In the run-up to the conference, there is a growing call—first articulated clearly at this year’s summit of the Group of Seven leading industrialized nations—to phase out fossil fuels. The United States and others have also vowed to vote against fossil fuel energy projects in developing countries when multilateral development banks are voting on them.”

He continues: “For India—a country struggling to provide basic electricity to about 25% of the population, according to conservative estimates—this smacks of a carbon imperialism. And such imperialism on the part of advanced nations could spell disaster for India and other developing countries….

“Under any plausible scenario, coal will provide about 40-60% of India’s energy until 2030. It will, and should, remain the country’s primary energy source because it is the cheapest fuel available.”

In an interview with a major French daily Le Figaro on Nov. 27, economist Rémy Prud’homme similarly exposed the “global warming imperialism” of COP21, citing among other things the efforts to shut down coal-fired electricity production in Africa and India. Prud’homme forecast a strong clash at the COP21 conference over this colonial policy.

While a new anti-climate scare film, “Climate Hustle,” is appearing Dec. 1, two other attacks on the global warming hoax have come out in news media in the Green Royals’ British Commonwealth itself.

The Cameroonian weekly tabloid Intégration on Nov. 24 featured an interview with former NASA scientists and meteorologist Tom Wysmuller denouncing the hoax. Intégration gave the interview a screaming page-one headline: “Thomas Wysmuller: There Is No Planetary ‘Climate Threat.’ ” Wysmuller states that, if all of the proposals to be put before COP21 were to be adopted, humankind would be thrown back to the Stone Age. He says that he wishes to see Cameroon “rise to the level that brings the best lifestyle, medical health, and prosperity that you can hope for and then benefit all of humanity! When your nation’s intelligence and intellect are focused on becoming equal partners in the world, the rest of the world’s nations will welcome your inclusion in mainstream economic progress.” The Committee for the Republic of Canada will soon produce an English translation.

The hoax was exhaustively exposed in “Climate Change Science and the Climate Change Scare” by Andrew Kenny, a South African engineer, published the same day, Nov. 24, in @Liberty, the policy bulletin of the South African Institute of Race Relations, and excerpted the next day on the widely read South African business news site, biznews.com.

Kenny’s 24-page paper makes clear that the hoaxsters’ prescriptions will prevent industrialization and will keep billions of people in poverty. Advancing many of the scientific refutations featured in EIR’s own Special Report, “ ‘Global Warming’ Scare Is Population Reduction, Not Science,” Kenny writes, “But we must rely on science. It is our surest, perhaps our only, path to truth. And the advance of science and reason has brought profound practical benefits to humanity.”

New Skeptic Film, ‘Climate Hustle,’ To Debut in Paris

Nov. 30 (EIRNS)—Perfectly timed to counter the ghoulish COP21 climate hysteria in Paris, over Nov. 30-Dec 11, is the release of a new “skeptical” documentary film, the “long-awaited world premiere” of “Climate Hustle,” at an invitation-only red carpet event in Paris on Dec. 7.

Produced by CFACT, the Committee For A Constructive Tomorrow, “The film is the first climate documentary to profile scientists who have reversed their views from supporting the so-called ‘consensus’ position to a conversion to skepticism,” according to the promo. “The film also profiles politically left scientists who have now declared themselves skeptics of man-made global warming, and United Nations scientists who have now turned against the UN for ‘distorting’ climate science.”

Founded in 1985, CFACT is known for their creative interventions against the climate apocalypsers over the years, even, at one point, “boarding and bannering a GreenPeace ship.” The CFACT.org website offers a daily news board of sobering, anti-green headlines. David Rothbard, CFACT president and the film’s executive producer says, “ ‘Climate Hustle’ is the most important climate documentary since Al Gore’s ‘An Inconvenient Truth.’ Gore’s film kicked off a decade of scare-mongering junk science. CFACT’s film debunks the scare and clears the way for a return to sound science and rational debate.”

Soros NGOs Officially Thrown Out of Russia

Nov. 30 (EIRNS)—The Russian Prosecutor General’s Office has named George Soros’s Open Society Foundations and the Open Society Institute Assistance Foundation as “undesirable groups,” banning Russian citizens and organizations from participation in any of their projects, according to RT today.

In a statement released today, prosecutors said the activities of the two NGOs were “a threat to the foundations of Russia’s Constitutional order and national security.”

The investigation began in July when the Duma approved a patriotic “stop-list” of 12 groups for anti-Russian activities. Other groups on the list included the National Endowment for Democracy and its two affiliates, the International Republican Institute and the National Democratic Institute, as well as the MacArthur Foundation and Freedom House.

The NED was then immediately declared an undesirable group after prosecutors discovered they had spent millions to undermine Russian elections and “tarnish the prestige of national military service,” said RT.

Soros announced earlier this year that he backs sanctions against Russia and called for a $50 billion fund for Ukraine to “counter Moscow’s nationalist expansionism,” writing in the New York Review of Books that this would foil Putin’s “attempts to destabilize Ukraine.”
