Justice for President Donald Trump—and Now, Justice for Lyndon LaRouche and All Americans
Feb. 6 (EIRNS)—A happy and very animated President Donald Trump today celebrated his total acquittal in the three-year-long process by the corrupted Democratic Party, beginning before Trump was even elected, to remove the elected President of the United States from office—not for any crime, but on the basis of lies about Russian collusion, followed by the Ukraine hoax. The President made clear today that the actual crimes committed by the Obama intelligence community, MI6 officer Christopher Steele’s phony dossier, and liars like Reps. Adam Schiff and Nancy Pelosi, who launched the ridiculous Ukraine impeachment campaign to cover up the fact—well known to readers of EIR—that Vice President Joe Biden was guilty of far more than corruption in conning millions of dollars from Ukraine and China for his drug-addict son Hunter. His more serious crime was his role in running the Obama Administration’s overt sponsorship of the 2014 coup against the elected government of Ukraine, on behalf of self-professed neo-Nazis, aimed at provoking a war with Russia.
Those crimes are now on the table.
The accusation by the Democrats against Trump of colluding with Ukraine to “steal the election” is actually what they themselves are doing. As in 2016, when the leaking of Hillary Clinton’s emails showed that the Democratic National Committee had cheated in its own primary, in order to stop Bernie Sanders and put in Clinton, those same Democrats have already been caught doing exactly the same thing in this 2020 election. As you will see below, the same institutions and individuals who ran the 2016 operation have been caught doing it again—this time in Iowa. Even the New York Times was forced to admit today, in an article on, “Iowa Caucus Results Riddled with Errors and Inconsistencies,” that something is rotten in the state of the Democratic Party. But this time, the intention is not only to stop Bernie Sanders, but also to lay the basis for Mussolini Mike Bloomberg, the green fascist, to sweep in “to save” the crumbling rot of the former party of great men like Franklin D. Roosevelt and John F. Kennedy.
America and the world can take joy in the end of the witch hunt. With the impeachment off the table, Trump is liberated to act on his own best intentions, no longer needing to appease the neo-con war-mongers in both parties. He can end the criminal regime-change wars; escalate the Artemis manned space exploration program; establish friendly cooperation with Russia and China in global development projects through the Belt and Road. It is also urgent that he call a summit with Presidents Vladimir Putin and Xi Jinping, to resolve the war danger in Southwest Asia and call a New Bretton Woods conference to replace the bankrupt Western financial system centered in the City of London.
These are, of course, the policies fought for by Lyndon LaRouche over the past half-century. His widow, Helga Zepp-LaRouche, the president of the Schiller Institute, today addressed the critical reality facing Americans and world citizens—the urgency for President Trump to exonerate Lyndon LaRouche, in order to make his profound ideas available to all people. Zepp-LaRouche said today, in paraphrase, to her associates:
“Now we have the right momentum, with the acquittal of President Trump. If we build on this, the enemy can be defeated. But we have to take the gloves off and stop the bullshit about Lyndon LaRouche. We have met with many wonderful leaders around the world over the years, but none compare to Lyn. Why does the cowardice to associate with LaRouche continue? If you reject the containment, you are free, as opposed to those who are frightened of someone looking over their shoulder, warning them to stay away from LaRouche.
“Be courageous. The acquittal marks the defeat of a great injustice, but the greatest injustice of all, is what was done to Lyn: Americans are not free until that injustice is corrected. Stick to that and the containment breaks—then there will be an avalanche.
“We fight this through, or we lose the historic moment of opportunity, the Sternstunde, the stellar moment of history. We last heard the Sternstunde in 1989, with the Fall of the Berlin Wall and the collapse of the Soviet Union. We proposed an international peace order for the 21st century for that moment of opportunity, the great historic chance of 1989, for an end to the British Imperial division of the world into warring blocs. But the opportunity was over by sometime in 1990.
“Now we have the acquittal, the Democrats have egg on their face. It is time to bring people to justice. We act on this golden opportunity, and get it across to our supporters, and we can win.”
U.S. POLITICAL AND ECONOMIC
President Trump Takes a Victory Lap, as Pelosi Becomes Even Crazier
Feb. 6 (EIRNS)—At the National Prayer Breakfast this morning, President Donald Trump largely extolled the virtue of prayer, the sanctity of life, and the power of faith. He did hold up, as he walked in, the Washington Post with the word “ACQUITTED!” as its blaring headline. And he did remark that he struggled to forgive people who impeached him when he had done nothing wrong, and those who use their faith as a public prop for otherwise doing things they know are wrong, a remark that all understood was a reference to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, who was sitting right in front of him, and to Republican Sen. Mitt Romney, who cited his “oath to God” as the reason why he voted to convict the President on abuse of power charges during the Senate impeachment trial.
Pelosi, in the press conference which followed, came prepared to defend her act of ripping up the President’s State of the Union address from the podium of the House on Feb. 4, before a national television audience. She defended her bizarre behavior as an absolute necessity, because she was tearing up the “Manifesto of Mistruth.” Constitutional Law Prof. Jonathan Turley of George Washington University Law School called for Pelosi’s resignation, saying she had effectively and forever disgraced the House with her behavior.
Pelosi suggested in her press conference that the President was sedated and on drugs at his State of the Union address, and boasts that she had succeeded in branding him with the “scar of impeachment” for life, regardless of the Senate vote. Thus, once again, she entered the insane Democratic echo chamber, which last week featured Rep. Adam Schiff insisting that the President was about to sell Alaska to the Russians, and this week has elevated Utah Republican Sen. Mitt Romney, a man they all hate, into St. Thomas More.
At the White House at noon, a very happy President celebrated with his team from the Congress, his cabinet, and his family, in a nationally-televised rally addressed to the American people. He again held up the Post “ACQUITTED!” headline, and opened his remarks by stating that everything that had happened to him and his family since the election was “bullshit.” This, of course, sent the morality police among the Democrats and the media into frenzied hysteria, claiming to be shocked by the President’s “vulgarity.” He also promised there would be consequences for the actions of “dirty cops,” like former FBI Director James Comey and former Deputy FBI Director Andrew McCabe, and “evil and sick people,” like Pelosi and Schiff, who, he said, had not only tried to overthrow a legally elected President, but to also destroy the United States.
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi Owes Her Job to Michael Bloomberg
Feb. 6 (EIRNS)—The House majority was flipped in 2018 because Sir Michael Bloomberg spent more than $112 million on a self-defined project to do exactly that in preparation for his 2020 Presidential bid. As a result, Nancy Pelosi became Speaker of the House. The LaRouche Political Action Committee is presently examining Bloomberg’s independent expenditures, which were otherwise covered up right after the election, and then promptly buried.
The narrative which replaced the nasty reality of Bloomberg’s purchases had the Democrats supposedly recruiting new “fresh moderate faces” who campaigned and won on issues such as healthcare, etc., by going door to door. In reality, many of the “fresh moderate faces” were also former CIA or other intelligence officers, or former military from the U.S.’s forever wars, or lawyers. Of course, Bloomberg prefers prosecutors.
The profile that emerges is one in which Bloomberg seemed to be singularly focused on reinventing the Democratic Leadership Council (DLC) and Blue Dog Democrats, who functioned as the central political institutions of British neo-liberalism prior to Donald Trump’s 2016 election. He also supported a smattering of candidates running on identity issues, making this part of his mandatory apology tour for establishing credibility in a party obsessed with identity politics.
According to the New York Times, Democrats won 21 of the 24 races that Bloomberg targeted, including 12 considered toss-ups. He did so by setting up Independence USA PAC, which then did polling in targeted districts, produced a ton of digital advertising, and then bought television ad time massively and late in the campaign, for ads produced by companies he paid. This independent expenditure campaign made Bloomberg the largest Democratic donor in 2018, dwarfing both billionaires George Soros and Tom Steyer, who also spent heavily. For each of the races Bloomberg targeted, he spent $1-$3 million in independent expenditure ad buys.
Senators Grassley and Johnson Open Investigation into Hunter Biden Corruption
Feb. 6 (EIRNS)—Wasting no time following the end of the impeachment farce, Senate Finance Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley of Iowa and Homeland Security Committee Chairman Ron Johnson of Wisconsin released a letter they sent to the director of the Secret Service requesting Hunter Biden’s travel records during the time when his father was Vice President. Grassley and Johnson were also informed this week by the National Archives that their request last November for all documents pertaining to Obama Administration contacts with Ukraine in 2016 had turned up thousands of documents, which will be vetted and then turned over.
The letter written yesterday to Secret Service Director James Murray reads: “We write to request information about whether Hunter Biden used government-sponsored travel to help conduct private business.” It states:
“1. Please describe the protective detail that Hunter Biden received while his father was Vice President.
“2. Please provide a list of all dates and locations of travel, international and domestic, for Hunter Biden while he received a protective detail. In your response, please note whether his travel was on Air Force One or Two, or other government aircraft, as applicable and whether additional family members were present for each trip.”
The letter says that their committees are “reviewing potential conflicts of interest posed by the business activities of Hunter Biden and his associates during the Obama administration, particularly with respect to his business activities in Ukraine and China.”
Draft Trump Executive Order Would Seek ‘Making Federal Buildings Beautiful Again’
Feb. 6 (EIRNS)—President Donald Trump has a draft Executive Order in the wings, whose title is reported as, “Making Federal Buildings Beautiful Again.” Various media report that the idea goes back a year, and is currently a seven-page text with guidelines. Today’s Chicago Sun Times quoted from it, saying that the document asserts that Classical Greek and Roman designs should be used. “Classical and traditional architectural styles have proven their ability to inspire such respect for our system of self-government. Their use should be encouraged.”
Speculation is that Trump may sign the order in a month or so. The implementation would come through the General Services Administration which contracts for federal government buildings.
A big flap has ensued over the concept of encouraging beauty. The American Institute of Architects is circulating a petition against the draft order, stating opposition in various terms, including against “Washington bureaucrats,” but otherwise declaring the idea that no one—not even governments—dare assert there are criteria for beauty.
COLLAPSING WESTERN FINANCIAL SYSTEM
Zepp-LaRouche States, ‘China Deserves Praise and Cooperation in the Fight against Coronavirus’
Feb. 6 (EIRNS)—Helga Zepp-LaRouche, president of the Schiller Institute, issued the following statement in German and English today:
The name of the German weekly magazine Der Spiegel actually means in English: “The Mirror.” And indeed, what you see this week on the cover page of the print version of Der Spiegel—a person with a gas mask, goggles, earphones and a red hoody— is the mirror image of the ugly face of the racism of its editors. The headline “Coronavirus Made in China” should actually be “The Ugly Face of the Racist Monster Spiegel.”
This piece of yellow trash journalism was so bad that the Chinese Embassy in Germany issued a formal complaint on their website. The notorious Jyllands-Posten of Denmark had an equally disgusting so-called cartoon putting the coronavirus on the Chinese flag. Various American so-called mainstream media use the abominable, racist term the “Yellow Peril.” What all of these portrayals demonstrate is the ugly reality of an obviously deep-seated racism under a very thin varnish of “Western values.”
The reality of the matter is, that the Director General of the WHO, Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, has praised China repeatedly for the excellent handling of the epidemic, noting that China has set a new standard of dealing with such problems. That the Chinese government had published a full genome-mapping of the new variants within days of the outbreak made it easier for scientists in other countries to start working on possible vaccines, but also that China has made significant breakthroughs in the biological sciences over the past 15-20 years. Other health officials stated that the response of the Wuhan regional government and the dissemination of information was “state of the art,” and that an extremely impressive quantity of new information contained in their daily updates had been published since Dec. 31st/Jan. 1st.
To call any virus a “Chinese” virus is as silly as to say that it is someone’s fault if he catches the flu or gets sick in general. It can happen anywhere in the world and it can happen to every person on the planet. The lesson from this recent case of the reaction to the outbreak of the coronavirus is that it shows who in the international community is capable of responding to dangers that threaten all of humanity, and who is a troglodyte, and who is not.
If Europe and the U.S. want to be credible in talking about “human rights” and “Western values” then they should join hands with China and cooperate on the fight to defeat the coronavirus. The coronavirus and the fact that every year hundreds of thousands of people are killed by complications from the influenza shows how urgent it is to make new breakthroughs in the fundamental understanding of living processes to overcome up to now life-threatening diseases. Europe and the U.S. should also cooperate with the most future-oriented vision on the international agenda, namely the extension of the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) into Southwest Asia and Africa and the international cooperation in the Space Silk Road.
For sure, we should reflect on the actuality of the judgment of Gottfried Leibniz who said: “In any case it seems that the situation of our present conditions in light of the growing moral decadence is such that it almost seems necessary that Chinese missionaries are sent to us, who could teach us the application and practices of natural theology…. I therefore believe, that if a wise man would be elected, not to judge about the beauty of goddesses, but about the excellence of peoples, he would give the golden apple to the Chinese.”
I think Leibniz was a lot wiser than, let’s say, Der Spiegel, Jyllands-Posten and New York Times.
EIR’s Dr. Debra Freeman on CGTN Urges Global Collaboration To Combat Coronavirus
Feb. 6 (EIRNS)—On the CGTN TV “Dialogue with Yang Rui” program today, Dr. Debra Freeman, of EIR News Service, participated on a panel on the topic, “Coronavirus Battle Continues.” The theme she struck in several ways, is that there must be international collaboration to fight the outbreak.
Anchor Zou Yue hosted a half-hour discussion among four guests: Participating from Beijing was Prof. Xue Lan (Dean of Schwarzman College, Tsinghua University), Prof. Wang Linfa (Director, Duke-NUS Emerging Infectious Diseases Program), and James Chau (Good Will Ambassador for the World Health Organization, and host of “The China Current”). Freeman holds a doctorate in public health.
Freeman said that any progress to be made against the virus requires that the China-bashing has to stop. What China has done is heroic. We don’t know everything we need to know, but what we do know is a result of what China has shown to us. What China is doing is important, and even then, might not be able to contain the virus; the virus is probably elsewhere and had not manifested itself. She said that, everyone screams that China withheld information, but they didn’t, and now they are being penalized.
On travel bans, Freeman said that it does not work to contain the virus, and more importantly, it chills what other countries may report. It hurts China and may hurt others in the rest of the world.
She went through the fact that, doing what the U.S. is doing today—grabbing people and confining them to military quarters for 14 days—is a waste of critical resources. The reason why it is happening, is that the United States has taken down so much of its infrastructure, such as hospital beds, its ability to monitor epidemics, and capacity to isolate people properly.
In 2009, travel bans were imposed for the influenza epidemic. It was totally ineffective. Travel bans are political statements.
Freeman elaborated on the main theme of the discussion: collaboration. She called for complete international collaboration without restraint, stressing that such collaboration is the natural impulse of scientists. They should be allowed to go forward without restraint.
She observed that President Donald Trump talks of his great friendship with President Xi Jinping, but the U.S. has not acted in this crisis as a friend. When there are earthquakes, tsunamis and other disasters, we move in with help, but the U.S. is not doing it here, and we should be doing it.
The lead-in from host Zou said, “According to China’s National Health Commission, the death toll from the novel coronavirus outbreak stands at 564 so far, which already surpasses the number of Chinese victims of the 2003 SARS epidemic. While the number of people infected continues to surge, those who have recovered is also rising—which suggests that some treatment may be working. But moving forward, how worried should we be? When will the virus reach its peak? And what further measures should China—and the world—implement to contain the outbreak?”
Tractors Are Rolling Down Spain’s Streets, Too, in Defense of Agriculture
Feb. 6 (EIRNS)—Under the slogan, “Farmers on the Brink,” Spain’s three largest agricultural associations—COAG, ASAJA and UPA—are jointly carrying out a wave of tractorcades and demonstrations across the country, demanding government action to provide the economic conditions necessary for farmers and cattlemen to survive. The coordinated wave of protests began on Jan. 27, and is scheduled to continue through at least Feb. 25, as of now.
Top on their list of 10 demands are fair prices that minimally cover their costs of production; second is government action to block the threat of cuts in EU Common Agricultural Policy aid. As in Germany, the large supermarket chains are a prime target, for their practices of bankrupting farmers with low payments, and importing foods from across the world which they sell under “Made in Spain” labels, and the like.
This week, dozens of tractors and 5,000 farmers took to the streets of Toledo, where farmers also spoke of their need for access to sufficient water, and struck back at the “attacks” on farming and cattle growers by the “animal rights” crowd.
The demonstration by hundreds of Madrid farmers (a dying breed) in front of the Ministry of Agriculture on Feb. 5 featured a skit on “a world without farmers,” provoking people to think: “Without farmers and cattlemen, what will we eat in the future? For us to continue to feed society, we need you to support us,” calling on people to join their “fight for sovereignty and food security for all.”
The head of the UPA’s olive oil producers, Cristobal Cano, slammed the cartelization which is bankrupting Spain’s traditional family farm, producers of this product today: “There is no excess of olive oil, but an excess of speculators”; it is the investment funds which run the super-intensive production chains which are wiping us out, Cano charged.
Spanish farmers are emboldened by the farm protests across Europe. In Castilla y Leon, ASAJA launched a campaign today against the restrictions on use of nitrogen fertilizers just promulgated by the provincial government. This will cut corn production, and these restrictions have just started, they warned. This is “what has motivated a large part of the mobilizations of farmers in Germany and other parts of Europe,” ASAJA pointed out.
U.S.-Japan Infrastructure MOU Ignores Case of India’s PPP Failure
Feb. 6 (EIRNS)—The United States and Japan signed an infrastructure cooperation memorandum Monday Feb. 3, which appears strictly aimed at generating private investment, and is concentrated on energy infrastructure, including LNG, the U.S. Treasury announced Feb. 4. It was signed between the Treasury and the Japanese Ministries of Finance and Economics. The countries “will work together to address regulatory, market, and legal barriers to private sector investment, and develop innovative solutions to deepen regional debt markets for energy and infrastructure projects.” The agreement is to “boost bilateral investment,” which can involve federal agencies issuing funds—particularly for guarantees—but it is supposed mainly to bring in more institutional investors.
This seems like a residue of the “Indo-Pacific” four-power combination to counter China, although both Japan and India have rejected that in the past.
But the wreckage in the middle of this room is India’s 15-year obsession with infrastructure public-private partnerships (PPPs), which ended in 2018 with the explosion of the Freddie Mac-like Infrastructure Leasing and Financial Services Corp. Its bankruptcy and nationalization are still reverberating in the Indian financial system, in waves of corporate non-performing loans, bankruptcies of shadow banks and smaller banks—not to mention India’s economic growth rate having nearly dropped in half since 2018. President Donald Trump’s own dictum on PPPs for infrastructure—“They just wind you up in bankruptcy court”—is being willfully ignored here.
In the U.S. Congress, the infrastructure “plans” even if enacted are not in the real economic ballpark at all. The House Democrats’ “Moving Fast Forward for the People” ploy has a nominal price tag of $760 billion attached to it. The “Barrasso Bill” (America’s Transportation Infrastructure Act of 2019) authorizes about a third of that to “maintain and repair America’s roads and bridges.” Consider that the state of Tennessee just published its annual infrastructure report, obviously not including major or transformative new national infrastructure, but only state building plans and maintenance needs, and they are estimated at $54 billion. The state has no source of funding—i.e., needs federal credit—for $36 billion of it. That is 10% of the state’s GDP. Apply that ratio to the nation, and these state-level infrastructure needs alone require $2.5-$3 trillion in investment. With national, technologically new infrastructure platforms, $5 trillion or more investment is needed.
STRATEGIC WAR DANGER
Russia Alarmed at U.S. Deployment of Low-Yield Nuclear Warhead
Feb. 6 (EIRNS)—Russia has responded with “alarm” to the confirmation from the U.S. Department of Defense that the W76-2 low-yield nuclear warheads have now been deployed on Trident submarine-launched ballistic missiles. “We are reacting to this with a serious concern not because we see a threat to the security of our country—this security is reliably ensured as a result of the efforts that were taken with regard to the armament and with regard to developing advanced weapon systems, but from the viewpoint of doctrines and concepts, which the Americans are using in the nuclear sphere. This is very alarming,” Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov said in a statement issued this morning, reported TASS.
The deployment of low-yield charges on U.S. strategic delivery vehicles suggests that “the pronouncements made by the American side in the declarative form about the possibility of deploying such means in a hypothetical conflict are already being embodied in the metal and items,” Ryabkov said. “This indicates that the U.S. is really reducing the nuclear threshold and admits of a limited nuclear war for itself and the victory in that war.”
In this context, Moscow’s proposal to “confirm again the commitment to the well-known formula that there can be no winners in a nuclear war and it must never be unleashed” is becoming especially important, Ryabkov continued. Russia formally handed over this proposal to Washington back in 2018, he added. “All the developments in their entirety and all the signs I am speaking about set us up for the need to double efforts in order to try to contain the U.S. further drift in the dangerous direction and Washington’s further slide into the planning of absolutely inadmissible catastrophic scenarios,” Ryabkov stressed.
The 2018 Nuclear Posture Review claimed that Russia has an “escalate-to-deescalate” doctrine of using tactical nuclear weapons to gain control over the battlefield in a conflict with NATO and therefore, the U.S. must have a low-yield “option” for deterring the Russians from using nuclear weapons in such a scenario. Russia has always denied that it has such a doctrine.
