The CDC is part of the US Public Health Service (which is under the US Department of Health and Human Services, itself part of the Presidents Cabinet alongside State Department, Defense Department and others. The Secretary of HHS is 11th in the Presidential Line of Succession).
(Edited to add the newest military branch and Uniformed Service) The Public Health Service is one of 8 US Uniformed Services. The Uniformed Services are:
- US Army
- US Navy
- US Marine Corps
- US Air Force
- US Space Force
- US Coast Guard
