If You Like London’s Ongoing Coup Against Trump, You’re Going To Love Thermonuclear World War III

March 5 (EIRNS)—Leading Congressional Democrats stooped to new lows on March 4, sending a letter to the White House demanding that they turn over all documents and information regarding President Donald Trump’s public and private communications with Russian President Vladimir Putin, alleging that those contacts may prove that Trump is not acting “in the national interest.” They even say that Trump may have modified U.S. foreign policy, due to those communications—which, in their warped view, means that Trump is a Russian puppet.

In other words, they are saying on behalf of their British masters: President Trump, you are off script—at least the one we always provide for American Presidents. Your views are deviating from the accepted British policies. We will treat the U.S. like the proverbial “banana republic” and overthrow its government, because we don’t like who the American people elected and what he is doing.

These Democrats—led by the likes of Representatives Schiff, Engel and Cummings—have no patriotism, no fatherland, no concern for the truth. They are marching to a different drummer. And in so doing they are trying to stop any conceivable cooperation, or even communication, between the U.S. and Russia, at exactly the point where that is desperately required to prevent the outbreak of thermonuclear World War III. There is currently no significant dialogue between the United States and Europe, or with Russia.

The planet is sleepwalking into World War III, Helga Zepp-LaRouche emphasized today. The world is at the edge of a “global showdown”; the trans-Atlantic financial system is likewise at the brink; and there are currently no structures in place in the West to brake that process. The Russian government keeps emphasizing that, with the U.S. pulling out of the INF treaty, if the U.S. and NATO now proceed to deploy intermediate-range missiles into Europe, Russia will be forced to do the same. And that will dramatically lower the threshold for war—including by simple error or miscalculation.

In all of this, the utopian intentions of the British and their American allies are faced with a serious problem in getting the world to go along with their insane policies: hard reality cannot simply be wished (or threatened) away.

1) Putin’s Russia has refused to cave to the blackmail, and has made it clear that no one will survive a thermonuclear showdown.

2) The London-centered trans-Atlantic financial system is a dead duck, and the Chinese-led Belt and Road Initiative is a far more attractive alternative.

3) The global mass strike process that ushered in a wave of anti-Establishment governments and political movements over the last couple of years, has only been getting stronger—in Italy, the U.S., Hungary, Mexico, and beyond.

It is that global context that now shapes the upcoming election campaign period in the U.S., Zepp-LaRouche stated today. The strategic must be to bring the U.S. into the New Paradigm that is taking shape around China’s New Silk Road policy. Either the U.S. works with China and Russia, or nothing will function, Zepp-LaRouche stressed. And none of that will happen unless we ensure the aesthetic education of the population, especially the youth who are now being destroyed and bestialized by rampant Green ideology and suicidal Malthusianism. “We have to go into the hornets’ nest and save these young people from going crazy,” Zepp-LaRouche insisted, and provide them with a Renaissance of classical culture and a new sense of identity and mission as human beings. This was the life’s work of Lyndon LaRouche, and it is now more urgent than ever.

That is why, Mrs. Zepp-LaRouche concluded, the exoneration of LaRouche and doing justice at last to his ideas, and freeing the Trump Presidency from the British coup, are one and the same victory.

Congressional Dems Launch Commando Assault on the White House

March 5 (EIRNS)—Three whooped-up Democratic Congressional chairmen—Adam Schiff (House Intelligence), Eliot Engel (House Foreign Affairs), and Elijah Cummings (House Oversight)—on March 4 wrote a letter to White House Acting Chief of Staff Mick Mulvaney demanding that they turn over all documents related to communications between President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin. Why? Because press “allegations, if true, raise profound counterintelligence and foreign policy concerns, especially in light of Russia’s ongoing active measures campaign to improperly influence American elections.”

The letter demands that “the White House identify and make available for transcribed interviews all White House Executive Office of the President employees, contractors, or detailees, whether current or former, with knowledge of these communications, including, but not limited to: 1) All staff, including but not limited to linguists, translators, or interpreters who participated in, attended, or in any way listened in on President Trump’s in-person meeting with President Putin, as well as President Trump’s phone calls with President Putin.” The coup supporters gave the White House until March 15 to stand and deliver.

What they are concerned to determine, the Congressmen claim, is “among other things, (i) the impact of those communication on U.S. foreign policy, (ii) whether federal officials including President Trump, have acted in the national interest … [and] whether any such communications have provided a basis for reconsideration, modification, or implementation of foreign policy.”

What the Democratic Congressmen are really saying is that, when the President of the United States doesn’t follow the script that the British Foreign Office handed him, and instead engages in dialogue with another head of state that affects his thinking about international affairs, that is a crime worthy of impeachment.

President Trump Slams Democrat ‘Fishing Expedition in Search of a Crime’

March 5 (EIRNS)—President Donald Trump slammed the Democratic Congressional assault against the administration as “the greatest overreach in the history of our Country,” in a tweet today. “The Dems are obstructing justice and will not get anything done. A big, fat, fishing expedition desperately in search of a crime, when in fact the real crime is what the Dems are doing, and have done!”

Speaking to reporters at the White House later in the day, President Trump said he wasn’t surprised that this “disgrace to our country” is happening. The Democrats have begun their 2020 Presidential campaign, and “instead of doing infrastructure, instead of doing health care, instead of doing so many things that they should be doing, they want to play games.”

White House Press spokeswoman Sarah Sanders hit the same vulnerability of this wild Democratic flight-forward on Monday night. “The Democrats are not after the truth, they are after the President,” she said in a statement posted to her Twitter and Facebook pages.

“Chairman Nadler and his fellow Democrats have embarked on this fishing expedition because they are terrified that their two-year false narrative of ‘Russia collusion’ is crumbling…. The American people deserve a Congress that works with the President to address serious issues like immigration, healthcare, and infrastructure. The Democrats are more interested in pathetic political games and catering to a radical, leftist base than on producing results for our citizens.”

Rep. Nadler Goes Fishing on Behalf of Her Majesty’s Coup Against President Trump

March 5 (EIRNS)—House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jerrold Nadler (D-NY) announced yesterday that the committee had served “document request” letters on 81 agencies, entities and individuals as the first step in its planned investigation into “the alleged obstruction of justice, public corruption and other abuses of power by President Trump, his associates and members of his Administration.”

Nadler gave a March 18 deadline to the 81 request recipients to respond, “in order to begin building the public record” of President Donald Trump’s alleged “threats to the rule of law.” Public hearings and more document requests are soon to follow in this “anything goes” operation. He brazenly stated that he is coordinating his investigation with Special Counsel Robert Mueller and the Southern District of New York.

The strategy in this new flank in the war on the Trump Presidency, initiated by the British monarchy before Donald Trump was ever elected, was concocted by the billionaire environmentalist Democratic money-bags who founded Impeach Now, Tom Steyer. Steyer told The Hill on March 2 that the Democrats will turn Congressional hearings into public circuses against Trump, like sleazeball Michael Cohen’s hearing, in order to make the attacks on the President “must-see TV … the soap opera to end all soap operas.”

The 81 recipients of document requests include the Trump Organization and various of its officers (at least six); Trump’s children and their trusts; the White House, FBI, DOJ, and General Services Administration; former White House officials (press, legal, et al.) and Trump campaign officials; Trump lawyers, current and past (at least two); a cast of thousands related to the June 2016 Trump Towers sting operation; Russian oligarchs and related hangers-on; Mueller-targets Roger Stone, Manafort, Gates, and others; et al.

This show provoked retired Col. Pat Lang to post a sign “Kangaroo Court” on his Sic Semper Tyrannis blog and ask: “Nadler Is the Kangaroo in Chief?

Global Showdown: Putin Suspends Russia’s Obligations Under the INF Treaty

March 5 (EIRNS)—Russian President Vladimir Putin formally ordered a suspension of Russia’s obligations under the INF treaty, as he said he would do after the United States had pulled out of the treaty. The brief presidential decree stated: “Proceeding from the need to take urgent measures in connection with the violation by the United States of America of its commitments under the Treaty … I hereby resolve … to suspend the implementation of the Treaty Between the United States of America and the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics on the Elimination of Their Intermediate-Range and Shorter-Range Missiles of December 8, 1987, until the United States of America rectifies its violations of the said Treaty or until it expires.”

The Chairman of the Federation Council’s Foreign Affairs Committee Sen. Konstantin Kosachev explained on his official Facebook account on March 4 that Putin’s decree only suspends Russia’s compliance with the INF treaty, but does not terminate the document. “I am sure that unless forced to do so … Russia will not aim its missiles at European targets, command and decision-making centers in the U.S., which is what Putin spoke about…. Russia is not giving up and hopes that our Western counterparts will show common sense, though it has been a futile hope in recent years. Do missiles have to be deployed for the European public to wake up like it did in the 1980s? An anti-war movement did a miracle then and the hope for a miracle (when there is nothing else left to hope for) dies last.”

Senator Kosachev continued: “Until the very last moment, Russia was trying to preserve the Treaty, calling for an open dialogue on its future and even allowing military experts and journalists to see the controversial missile the U.S. talked about when giving reasons for its withdrawal. Alas, at some stage it became obvious that Russia was not the real reason, and the U.S. simply wanted to pull out of the Treaty.”

Russia’s ambassador to the U.S., Anatoly Antonov addressed how dangerous the situation now is, telling a March 4 public conversation on “U.S.-Russian Relationship in Times of Tension,” with Stimson Center President Brian Finlay in Washington, D.C.: “We are very much concerned that after the decision of the United States to withdraw from INF, missiles could be deployed on the territory of European allies. We will be forced to deploy our missiles, and here you will see that the whole territory of European countries will be covered.”

Wall Street Journal Sleepwalking on the INF Treaty

March 5 (EIRNS)—In reporting on Russian President Vladimir Putin’s decree suspending INF compliance, the Wall Street Journal yesterday expressed surprise and dismay that the Russian statement “didn’t acknowledge Washington’s accusations that Russia had broken its obligations under the INF treaty.” They also foolishly pondered the possibility of playing the Russian card against China, suggesting that the U.S. and Russia “could still use a non-deployment agreement as a way to prevent an arms race. Such an agreement could give the U.S. room to give Russia security assurances while deploying closer to China.”

Also on March 4, China’s Ambassador to Russia Li Hui gave an interview to Russian daily Nezavisimaya Gazeta, to which those such as the Wall Street Journal who think they can play geopolitical games to split Russia and China, would do well to pay attention. “China-Russia cooperation in the spheres of trade and economy, energy, scientific and technical innovation, finance and investment, as well as agriculture and infrastructure construction are moving along a ‘high-speed highway,’ ” Li stated. He emphasized the “strategic interaction” between the two countries, “adhering to the spirit of efficiency and practicality,” according to Xinhua. “I am confident that this year, China-Russia relations will gain new momentum for development,” Li said.

U.S. Delivers THAAD Missile Systems to Israel

March 5 (EIRNS)—In early March the United States delivered THAAD (Terminal High Altitude Area Defense) systems to Israel, which will be stationed in the country’s south, alongside some 200 U.S. military personnel. The deployment was lauded by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who said that the systems will bolster Israel’s capability to fend off threats from all over the Middle East region. “The American THAAD system is considered among the most advanced systems in the world, and together with our defense systems, we are stronger in dealing with threats, close or distant, emanating from all areas of the Middle East,” he said.

Lt. Col. Jonathan Conricus, an Israeli army spokesman, told the press that the deployment is temporary, and for now the THAAD system will not be permanently integrated into the Israeli defense shield. He also said that the move tested America’s ability to carry out accelerated deployment of the THAAD system. An American military spokesman said the deployment demonstrates the United States’ “continued commitment to Israel’s regional security” and that U.S. forces can “respond quickly and unpredictably to any threat, anywhere, at any time.”

China Party Congress Opens with Renewed Determination

March 5 (EIRNS)—China’s National People’s Congress opened today with the presentation of the Government Work Report by Chinese Premier Li Keqiang. In the nearly two-hour presentation, Premier Li presented the work of the Chinese government during 2018 and laid out some of the basic directions for 2019. It was clear from his speech that this year’s Congress is occurring in a turbulent period, both economically and politically. While there is some optimism with regard to a possible end to the U.S.-China trade dispute, which has cast its pall over the world economy, the underlying friction which the dispute revealed will not go away anytime soon. The success of the Anglo-American faction in hyping up the “China threat” has taken its toll and created a good deal of uncertainty as to where this will lead.

In many respects, the report was a marshalling of the forces of the Congress and the Party to greater vigilance and effort in achieving the centennial goals set out by the 19th Party Congress last year. “We must be prepared for a tough struggle,” Li said. “There are still strategic opportunities, but we must have unshakable wills.”

The three “battles” which have been designated as the focus of the Party and the state are the battles against “poverty, pollution, and financial risk.” The year 2019 is a key year to reach the effective elimination of poverty in those very remote areas which remain untouched. The goal is to lift 10 million more people this year in order to reach the desired goal by 2020 of creating a “moderately prosperous society in all respects.”

Anti-pollution efforts have been ongoing and will be strengthened this year with an emphasis on clean air and clean water throughout the nation. And while economic growth will be encouraged and an increase of financing, particularly for small and medium-sized enterprises, there will be some belt-tightening in expenses for both governments and SMEs. And with the continued crimping of the export market, China will focus more on promoting domestic consumption as the driver of growth. It is estimated that 60% of China’s growth last year was a result of domestic consumption rather than export demand.

Tax cuts are in the offing for individuals and SMEs. A new foreign investment law will combine three previous laws and make it easier for foreign companies to invest in China. The negative list of industries which foreign companies are not allowed to invest in will be pared down and bureaucratic hindrances abolished. State and local banks will be set up specifically to meet the needs of the SMEs. Foreign companies will also be able to invest in the financial sector. At the same time, there will be tight regulatory control over the financial markets in order to avoid speculative risks. Finance will be tailored to develop the real economy as both Premier Li and President Xi Jinping have recently underlined.

There will also be a push for expanding medical services and pension reform, particularly targeting the rural areas. It is also rumored that there will be something of a revamping of the government structure to place a greater emphasis on the social issues and on environmental issues. There will also be legislation to strengthen the land rights for the household (leased) farms (one translator even used the term “family farms”).

Poles Enter Intense Cooperation with Huawei

March 5 (EIRNS)—As China’s CGTN TV network reports, at the Mobile World Congress 2019, held in Barcelona, Spain last week, Poland’s infrastructure network service provider Hawe Telekom and China’s Huawei announced in-depth cooperation in the development of competence of the Polish company in the field of 5G technology. The announcement is important, as other European countries hesitate to, or even hostile about working with Huawei, because of the allegations that the company spied for the Chinese state.

Hawe and Huawei stated in Barcelona that Poland has a strategic location for the Silk Road of Information as it contains a segment of the shortest route from Frankfurt to China via Russia. Hawe networks will play a vital part in the fiber connection along the Silk Road.

Hawe has more than 6,000 km worth of optical fibers deployed across Poland and has expanded to key switching nodes in Germany, the Netherlands, Russia, Ukraine, and Finland.

COLLAPSING WESTERN FINANCIAL SYSTEM

German Government Asks City of London Masters on Deutsche Bank

March 5 (EIRNS)—The Brexit has not shifted the balance of power in the European financial system. The Financial Times has revealed that German Finance Minister Olaf Scholz and his deputy Jörg Kukies went to London at the beginning of February to ask for advice on how to bail out Deutsche Bank. Specifically, they put forward a merger with Commerzbank as an option.

It is not known whether the two gentlemen were kicked in the ass or in the teeth. The Fact is that a bailout or a resolution of “the hole with a hedge fund around” can no longer be postponed. The merger solution comes apparently from Paul Achleitner chairman of the supervisory board of Deutsche Bank, according to FT. A merger between two bankrupt entities is no solution, unless the option put forward by Lyndon LaRouche a few years ago is adopted: Bring back the policy of the Herrhausen course. However, this is hardly conceivable for persons such as Achleitner and Kukies, both former Goldman Sachs and the latter a former derivatives trader.

Apparently, the police raid last December, the Danske scandal and the U.S. Congress investigations on the relations between Deutsche Bank and Trump have accelerated pressures for a merger.

According to FT, however, many in the two banks, including the CEO Christian Sewing, don’t like the merger. An anonymous Deutsche Bank manager says that the merger is liked by the bank’s competitors, because “we would spend years in dealing with this operation.” A banker from a rival financial institution compares the merger and restructuring of the two banks with repairing a jumbo in flight. As long as three of the four engines work, the plane can fly. The problem is that Deutsche Bank has only one engine.

Is Climate Change Truly an Existential Threat? Allow Science, not Hysteria, To Decide

March 5 (EIRNS)—On Feb. 20, the Washington Post reported that President Donald Trump plans to set up a Presidential Committee on Climate Security, to be headed by Dr. William Happer, a Professor of Physics at Princeton University. This committee would be liberated to do the unthinkable: To engage in an open, public discussion of whether human emissions of CO2 into the atmosphere can cause significant and possibly irreparable harm to present and future generations, and to the Earth itself (whatever that might be taken to mean).

On this topic, we’ve heard it repeated that the science is settled; that apart from some climate deniers (a term chosen for its parallel to Holocaust deniers), the vast majority of scientists working in the relevant fields are of one mind—they believe disaster is upon us if drastic changes are not urgently made. It is solemnly intoned that this is a matter of science rather than politics, and that disagreement with the teachings of climate change adherents is a kind of heresy against knowledge itself.

Leaving aside the questionable basis for the oft-repeated claims of scientific unanimity, ask a more fundamental question: Have you ever come to know that something is true, on the basis of hearing that many other people believe it? Is that really how science works? One single person can be right, while everyone else is wrong. In fact, this is how all great discoveries have been made!

What is there to fear from an open, public review by a government committee of the available evidence? Is it a sin to question the perceived status quo? If the science is so certain, why the fear about subjecting it to reasoned scrutiny?

Is there something we are not supposed to find out?

The Science Behind the Cotton Seed That Sprouted on the Moon

March 5 (EIRNS)—The cotton seed aboard the Chang’e-4 lander, sitting on the far side of the Moon, was a genetically-engineered seed. It was designed after nearly a decade of development in order to synthesize the Bt insecticide protein gene for cotton seeds, by the Institute of Cotton Research of the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Science.

The research program was undertaken because China had suffered from a long-term bollworm disaster in the 1990s and was forced to import 95% of its cotton seeds. At that time, nearly 300 million farmers depended upon cotton as their primary source of income.

The new ICR-41 genetically engineered seed that went to the Moon now accounts for 95% of the cotton market share in China. It also made China the second country after the U.S. with the technology to synthesize the Bt insecticide protein gene.
