The liberal media has been celebrating Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s sudden rise to stardom. The New York socialist is outspoken about her severe stance on raising taxes. But a few skeletons are coming out of her closet, now that she’s in the limelight.
You’ve probably read about Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez recently. The rookie politician beat long-time Democrat Joseph Crowley in a primary run. It shocked the Democratic Party that a newcomer could beat a man who had his seat for ten terms. Because of her shocking win, she inspired other long-time Democrats to take the radical stance. Ocasio-Cortez’s recent victory is inspiring more Democrats to jump off the deep end, a move that will surely hasten the party’s demise.
But along with terrible views on immigration, Ocasio-Cortez is a staunch socialist. Like many other brain-dead leftists, she wants to punish the job creators of our country with higher taxes. All to waste on government programs, of course. She believes the rich don’t deserve their money (nor do you); it should be taken by force and given to people who refuse to work. That’s always a winning equation, just ask Venezuela!
Ocasio-Cortez seems to ignore the fact that our economy is doing so well right now, thanks to Trump’s tax cuts. Jobs are booming and there is more money to go around because the government is taking less (and wasting less). But who cares about that, right? Ocasio-Cortez has people to exploit for votes! She’ll say anything to win over the disgruntled masses in Queens.

Newly unearthed reports from socialist Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s past shows that the progressive political candidate had very different views on taxes when she used to run a business…
Now that she is in the political spotlight, many of Ocasio-Cortez’s previous views are coming to light, particularly those surrounding raising taxes, since much of her platform revolves around taking more of people’s hard-earned money and giving it to those who did not earn it. [Source: Daily Wire]
It seems like Ms. Ocasio-Cortez was far more capitalistic in her mindset when she was trying to earn her money the right way.
But Ocasio-Cortez appeared to have a different outlook on capitalism and taxes in 2012 when she was running a business of her own, Brook Avenue Press, an incorporated publishing firm for children’s books set in the Bronx. As a business owner, she came out in support of a bill that would provide tax deductions for business start-up costs, arguing that taxes directly impacted her business profits.
“You don’t really make a profit in your first year,” Ocasio-Cortez told the now-defunct DNAinfo when she was 22. “To get taxed on top of that is a real whammy.” [Source: Daily Caller]
It seems like when she had something to lose, Ocasio-Cortez wasn’t too bullish on stealing from taxing the wealthy. Perhaps after her business tanked (thanks to burdensome New York taxes) she decided to jump ship and get on board with socialism, which is a common tactic among losers.
