With Jeff Sessions In Office, Trump Signs Executive Orders To ‘Restore Safety’ In America
Posted: 09 Feb 2017 11:21 AM PST President Trump signed three executive orders on Thursday, all on the topics of crime against the police and against drug cartels. Trump issued the executive actions from the Oval Office as he stood alongside his newly confirmed Attorney General, Jeff Sessions. “I’m signing three executive actions today designed to restore safety in America,” Trump announced.
According to Trump, one establishes a violent crime task force. Another aims to reduce violence against the police. The third order is designed to “break the back of the criminal cartels.” “First, I’m directing Department of Justice and Homeland Security to undertake all necessary and lawful action to break the back of the criminal cartels that have spread across our nation and are destroying the blood of our youth and other people, many other people,” Trump said. “Secondly, I’m directing Department of Justice to form a task force on reducing violent crime in America,” the president added. “And thirdly, I’m directing the Department of Justice to implement a plan to stop crime and crimes of violence against law enforcement officers,” Trump said. “It’s a shame what’s been happening to our great, truly great law enforcement officers. That’s going to stop as of today.” “Very important, all very important,” Trump said of the directives. “Today’s ceremony should be seen as a clear message to the gang members and drug dealers terrorizing innocent people, your day is over,” said Trump. “A new era of justice begins and it begins right now.” The White House has not released the text of the executive orders yet. University Professor Violently Assaults Student For Supporting Trump
Posted: 09 Feb 2017 11:16 AM PST An instructor at California State University, Fullerton, is under investigation after allegedly assaulting a student during a “No Ban No Wall” protest being held on campus. Students for Justice in Palestine had organized a protest of President Donald Trump’s executive order on immigration, and the College Republican club decided that they were going to make their voices heard as well — by organizing a counter-protest.
As the two protests collided, the instructor, who is a part-time lecturer, got into an altercation with two students from the College Republican club as well as another counter-protester. The university is currently withholding his name from being made public, but Breitbart reports that his name is Eric Canin, a part time anthropology professor.
Ignalls is now seeking to press charges against the faculty member for battery, and has filed a police report. Canin claims that he did not physically touch anyone, and that the Republicans had been “making fun of him.” “I did not see (Canin) hit (Ingalls), but I saw (Ingalls) on the ground,” music department professor Ken Walicki told the Daily Titan. CSUF Chief Communications Officer Jeffery D. Cook tweeted after the incident took place that, “#CSUF prizes and promotes free and open expression. Any violent incident, however isolated, cannot be tolerated and is unacceptable.”
According to an update on Twitter from the CSUF Republicans, Canin will not be penalized for the violence.
Captain Scot Willey of the Cal State Fullerton Police Department told the OC Register that the department was trying to figure out exactly what happened so that they could decide if charges are warranted. “There were no other issues,” the captain said. “Everything was peaceful, if somewhat boisterous, on both sides.” The post University Professor Violently Assaults Student For Supporting Trump appeared first on We Are Change. |

NSA Contractor Indicted For Largest Heist of Classified Documents in U.S. History
Posted: 09 Feb 2017 10:52 AM PST Last year, we told you about a second Snowden, a National Security Agency who may have been leaking troves of government secrets. Today, former contractor Harold Martin III was indicted on twenty criminal counts for stealing government documents and data or willful retention of national defense information. Martin was arrested last October and accused of taking classified information. [RELATED: Another NSA Contractor Arrested Accused Of Taking Classified Information] Like Snowden, Martin worked as a Booz Allen Hamilton employee, according to Reuters. Martin may have stolen as much as up to 50TB of classified data, which would make it the largest trove of government secrets ever stolen in history, having stolen more than an half-billion pages of top-secret documents from the U.S. government from 1996 to 2016. U.S. officials allege that some of the data stolen included at least 75 percent of an elite hacking toolset used by the NSA’s Tailored Access Operations (TAO). The TAO toolset was leaked last year by a group calling itself “the shadow brokers”. Wikileaks also added that it’s received the Shadow Brokers release of NSA hacking tools earlier and will be releasing them in due time. “We had already obtained the archive of NSA cyber weapons released earlier today and will release our own pristine copy in due course.” [RELATED: WikiLeaks to release ‘pristine copy’ of NSA Hacking Tools] Officials, though, have not yet attributed Martin to any leaking of data and are currently only accusing him of stealing, not espionage. The indictment says that Martin’s trove of stolen data also included documents from the CIA, the U.S. Cyber Command, and the National Reconnaissance Office. Some of the documents identified in the indictment included: daily operations briefings from the NSA, a 2016 Cyber Command report detailing military capabilities and gaps for specific operations, a 2008 CIA document detailing methods of intelligence sources and collection, and an NSA anti-terrorism operation-planning document, the Washington Times reported. Martin allegedly kept all the data on computers and drives at his Glen Burnie, Maryland home. Martin was able to accomplish this feat because of the security clearances that were granted him as a contractor with at least seven different government agencies. He started working back in 1993 after serving in the U.S. Navy for four years, Reuters said Martin is set to appear before a federal judge for a hearing in Baltimore next week on Tuesday, Feb. 14. 9/11 Mastermind Dispels ‘They Hate Us For Our Freedom’ Myth In Letter To Obama
Posted: 09 Feb 2017 09:40 AM PST 9/11 Mastermind’s Letter to Obama: Here’s Why We Attacked AmericaArticle via The Anti-Media: When Barack Obama was still in office, Khalid Shaikh Mohammed, one of the perpetrators of the 9/11 terror attacks, penned a letter to him. Though a judge recently ruled that letter could be sent to the White House before the outgoing president left office, the contents were to be withheld from the public until a month later — until after President Trump had assumed power. This week, the Miami Herald obtained and published the contents of the 18-page letter, originally written in 2015 and titled “LETTER FROM THE CAPTIVE MUJAHID KHALID SHAIKH MOHAMMAD TO THE HEAD OF THE SNAKE, BARACK OBAMA, THE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, THE COUNTRY OF OPPRESSION AND TYRANNY.” It contains the Kuwait-born Pakistani terrorist’s insights into why 9/11 occurred, as well as surprisingly accurate assessments of American politics. One of the main reasons for 9/11, according to Mohammed, is one terrorists have referenced before: American foreign policy. His explanation is rooted both in history and in current affairs. “The American people were misled by the Johnson administration and the Pentagon into waging a war in Vietnam that cost 58,000 U.S. lives and millions of Vietnamese lives and ultimately led to a humiliating defeat,” he writes, correctly referencing Johnson’s false flag attack in the Gulf of Tonkin, which the Democratic president used to push the U.S. into a prolonged, messy, and ultimately failed war. Mohammed also focused on U.S. foreign policy in the Middle East and the Muslim world specifically, providing a long list of reasons why the “U.S. reaped what it sowed on 9/11.” One of those grievances was the U.S. government and CIA’s scheme to back and support “the Indonesian dictator Suharto when his army-led massacres slaughtered hundreds of thousands of landless farmers,” though his examples span the globe. He cites America’s notorious desire for oil, referencing when the U.S. built “military bases in the Arabian Peninsula in Tabuk, Dhahran, Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, and U.A.E – which is prohibited by Sharia laws – to secure a non-stop flood of oil to [their] country at the cheapest price.” He argues this was “to support the dictatorial rule of monarchial families and oppressive, corrupt, dynastic regimes and looting the wealth of the Muslim Ummah population; and to accomplish [U.S.] military objectives there.” He references the CIA’s 1953 coup in Iran — conducted in conjunction with their British intelligence counterparts — to overthrow the country’s democratically elected leader and empower the “Shah of Iran and Safak, the brutal Iranian intelligence agency, for 40 years.” Discussing Iraq in the 1990s, he references “when Anglo-Saxon crusaders imposed sanctions against the Iraqi people in a manner of collective punishment that resulted in the death of half a million civilians.” He later addresses former U.N. ambassador Madeleine Albright’s claim that the deaths of half a million children were “worth it.” Mohammed also points out hypocrisies in American foreign policy, such as the American officials’ ties to Syrian President Bashar al-Assad before they wanted to oust him. He also points out that before invading Iraq, the U.S. “supported Saddam Hussein during the Iran-Iraq War, even when he was using poison mustard gas against the Kurds…” Mohammed discusses at length the centuries of Western attacks on Muslims and their countries, also noting the way Western countries broke up formerly Ottoman nations in the early 20th century, dividing them up and claiming control in the region. He circles back to indict the whole of American foreign policy, noting the U.S. has escaped prosecution for their “brutal and savage massacres against the American Indian and [their] crimes in Vietnam, Korea, Tokyo, Hiroshima, Nagasaki, Dresden, and Latin America; and for [their] support for the Chinese Dictator, Chiang Kai-Shek, and Mexico’s dictator, Santa Ana.” “You can keep your military bases in Japan, Germany, Italy, and elsewhere,” he writes, “but Muslim land will never accept infidels army bases in their land.” He credits Allah with helping them fight back against Western aggression, frequently weaving in religious sentiments as justification for further violence. Though Mohammed focuses largely on U.S. imperialism, one of his main grievances is the U.S. government’s support for Israel throughout the decades. He argues America reaped what it sowed on 9/11 in part because of America’s backing of Israel “in the political arena, when you blocked resolutions in the United Nations Security Council more than 45 times to protect repeated Israeli crimes.” Mohammed cites the U.S.’ support for Israel’s invasions of Lebanon throughout the years, ultimately arguing that jihadists fight for all oppressed Muslims. He claims they represent Palestinians and others who have been crushed by Western influence and invasion (of course, it is impossible to prove all victimized Muslims support terrorism as recourse, making this claim rather grandiose). He discusses Obama’s ongoing efforts to continue providing weaponry to Israel even as the former president openly questioned Israeli settlements. “While your children may play safely in the White House backyard, the entire world is watching your weapons kill Palestinian children at play on the Gaza beach during Holy Month of Ramadan or studying in their classrooms.” Mohammed criticizes American politicians’ repeated claims that Israel “has a right to defend itself.” “Why can’t you or any American president before you say that the Palestinians have a right to defend themselves against Israeli crimes?” he wonders. “The answer is very clear but you can’t say it because your lords will be very angry.” Indeed, Israel wields significant influence over American policy. The notion that American politicians are beholden to higher powers is echoed throughout the letter, but not just with regard to Israel’s influence through lobbying organization AIPAC (American Israel Public Affairs Committee). With surprising accuracy, Mohammed details corporate influence throughout government. Early in the letter, he points out that politicians must serve their donors, whether they are in the healthcare industry, the prison industry, or “Blackwater, Halliburton, or any other arms industry of weapons firm.” He says the latter industry requires politicians “to push the DoD and U.S. soldiers into more wars…” He condemns American capitalism and the farce of democracy throughout the letter, referring to politicians as mercenaries working for their financiers. He asserts that “[i]n the end, this will lead the rich to grow richer and the poor to grow poorer. The country will sink into debt and finally the nation will die.” Mohammed also singles out Obama, citing his drone strikes, which killed countless innocent civilians and children. He condemns Obama’s assassination of American citizen Anwar al-Awlaki without trial — followed by the killing of his 16-year-old son — as well as the president’s establishment of indefinite detention and his failure to close Guantanamo, where Mohammed has been imprisoned for years. He calls out Western media, as well. “Don’t let Fox, CNN, BBC, or American and pro-Israeli channels cover your eyes because they never show the truth, their main task is brainwashing,” he argues. “They are experts at lying and distorting the facts to achieve their masters’ ends.” (Instead, he praises Al-Jazeera, which is, in fact, a news agency originally funded by the oil-rich Qatari government, an ally of the United States.) Since 9/11, the political establishment’s narrative has asserted Islamic terrorists target the United States because they hate us for our freedom, because their religion is violent, and because they are hellbent on destroying anyone who disagrees with their ideology. While it’s indisputable that anyone who would seek to kill 3,000 civilians is a cold-blooded murderer, his explanation has been echoed by terrorists before; the Charlie Hebdo shooters, the Boston Marathon bombers, and the Orlando night club shooter all referenced violent, imperialistic American policy as reasons for their attacks. Mohammed concludes: “If your government and public won’t tolerate 9/11, then how can you ask Muslims to tolerate your 60 years of crimes in Palestine, Lebanon, the Arabian Peninsula and the whole Muslim World?” As former congressman and longtime non-interventionist Dr. Ron Paul warned in 1998 — long before 9/11: “Far too often, the bombing of declared (or concocted) enemies, whether it’s the North Vietnamese, the Iraqis, the Libyans, the Sudanese, the Albanians, or the Afghans, produces precisely the opposite effect to what is sought. It kills innocent people, creates more hatred toward America, unifies and stimulates the growth of the extremist Islamic movement and makes them more determined than ever to strike back with their weapon of choice – terror.” This article (9/11 Mastermind’s Letter to Obama: Here’s Why We Attacked America) is free and open source. Media Pushes Syrian Execution Story That Lacks Concrete Evidence
Posted: 09 Feb 2017 08:27 AM PST Amnesty Claim on Syria Hangings Lacks Solid EvidenceArticle via Anti-War: Media Far Oversells Report Based on Limited Rebel Testimony A report from Amnesty International citing testimony from a handful of rebels and other opposition figures, and claiming a large number of hangings carried out by the Syrian government at a single prison has been quickly accepted by media outlets, and in many cases far overstated, despite a lack of really concrete proof it ever happened. The report’s figures are based on claims of executions of between 20 and 50 people executed in a week, extrapolated into a 4+ year figure which put between 5,000 and 13,000 people over that period, “assuming the rate remained the same,” an assumption for which they don’t provide any real evidence, since the testimonies are all for very limited periods of time. This broad 5,000 to 13,000 death toll was not only endorsed by outlets like the Associated Press, but overstated, with the AP taking that fairly wide range, and reporting “at least 13,000” as the death toll, despite it being the absolute maximum in the Amnesty range. The Syrian government has issued a statement denying the claim, calling it part of a “smear campaign” against them. While Syria often denies things that they actually did, in this case, the lack of evidence makes it difficult to say how many executions might’ve happened. San Francisco to Become First US City to Offer Tuition-Free Community College to Residents
Posted: 09 Feb 2017 06:59 AM PST San Francisco Mayor Ed Lee said on Tuesday the city would become the first in the United States to offer tuition-free community college to its residents. ABC-7 reported nearly 30,000 people should benefit from this, and San Francisco Supervisor Jane Kim said she hopes this is an opportunity for residents to improve lives:
Under the agreement, which is expected to take effect in the fall, the city will pay $5.4 million a year to buy out the $46-a-credit fee usually paid by students. The city’s contribution will also provide $250 a semester to full-time, low-income students who already receive a state-funded fee waiver. They will be able to use the money to pay for books, transportation, school supplies and health fees. Part-time students with fee waivers will get $100 a semester for the same purpose. [RELATED: We Are Seeing The Effects Of The Minimum Wage Rise In San Francisco] The $5.4 million plan also includes $500 grants to low-income City College of San Francisco students to spend on books, transportation, school supplies and healthcare, Lee said in a posting on Medium.com. He also claimed grants of $200 would be made available to poor part-time students. Free tuition also only applies to city residents who have lived in California for at least one year. The community college is one of the largest in the state, but enrollment has plummeted from more than 100,000 students to 64,000 after financial mismanagement threatened its all-important accreditation. That crisis has passed and free tuition will be an extra enticement to fill its classrooms again. “We have a lot of empty seats,’’ acting Chancellor Susan Lamb noted. Anyone thinking of academics or job training should “come back and give us a try,’’ she said. [RELATED: Buses In San Francisco Now Say: ‘Boycott Israel Until Palestinians Have Equal Rights’] The money will come from a measure that San Francisco voters approved in November, Proposition W, enacting a transfer tax on properties selling for at least $5 million. Prop. W is expected to raise $44 million annually, with most going into the city’s general fund. The new deal will send $5.4 million of that to students—not to City College—for their fees. Of that, $2.1 million a year for two years has been committed to students for their free education at City College, after which the allocation would have to be renewed by the city. The remainder will go to the students who already have fee waivers. Responses seen in Twitter search results were generally positive overall. One account did point out that the people who inhabit San Francisco may be of a socio-economic strata that can comfortably afford to pay their own tuition.
However, not everyone agreed with this view. “Cutting out tuition charges also helps in a costly city where an income gap requires serious answers, not just rhetoric,” concluded the San Francisco Chronicle. BREAKING: Jeff Sessions Confirmed as Attorney General in 52-47 Vote
Posted: 08 Feb 2017 04:37 PM PST Republican Sen. Jeff Sessions was confirmed as the next attorney general on Wednesday, after a close vote of 52-47.
The New York Times reported that Sessions’s confirmation was “ferocious even by the standards of moldering decorum that have defined the body’s recent years,” and it “laid bare the Senate’s deep divisions at the outset of the Trump presidency.” Sessions’s confirmation faced opposition, which peaked on Tuesday when Republicans voted to silence Democratic Sen. Elizabeth Warren after she started reading a 1986 letter written by the widow of Martin Luther King that criticized Sessions and his civil rights record. “The awesome power of his office to chill the free exercise of the vote by black citizens in the district he now seeks to serve as a federal judge,” the letter said about Sessions, who was the U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of Alabama at the time. Child Sex Abuse Site ‘PlayPen’ Operators Sentenced to 20 Years in Prison
Posted: 08 Feb 2017 01:57 PM PST The two primary operators of a child sex abuse site known as “Playpen” were sentenced to 20 years in prison on Tuesday. David Lynn Browning of Kentucky Michael Fluckiger of Indiana were prosecuted for their involvement with the site, which was run off of The Onion Router (TOR)’s darkweb as a hidden address. TOR bounces data requests around through three different default nodes, encrypting at every step to conceal the locations and the identities of its users, if used properly. The router is used by journalists and others for legitimate purposes. A long-standing use of the network has unfortunately been proliferating child pornography underground, which vigilante collective Anonymous has fought constantly for the past few years. Browning will be jailed for 20 years following his involvement in one of the most massive child pornography networks with an estimated 215,000 members worldwide with 117,000 posts and an average of 11,000 unique visitors a week. He was responsible for running the site, moderating discussions and managing membership lists. A long FBI operation led to the shutdown of the site that required the FBI to use a TOR exploit of javascript. The FBI infected the sites with software that punctured that security, allowing agents to identify hundreds of users. The FBI infected the site with malware allowing agents to identify hundreds of users of the filth pen. Prior to the website being closed, the FBI ran the site for at least two weeks from Feb. 20 to March 4, 2015, gathering data on its users and continuing to share thousands of child pornography images. However, the DOJ denies that agents posted any child pornography to the site themselves. The FBI faced drawbacks in April 2016 when, in an official statement regarding his ruling,Judge William G. Young outlined how the FBI’s investigation “lacked authority,” was “presumably unreasonable” and “violated Federal Rules for Criminal procedure.” He added, that “the warrant was issued without jurisdiction and thus was void.” Young wasn’t the only judge who ruled that the warrant was invalid. Two other judges—Paul J Cleary and Judge Robert Pratt—ruled in his favor to throw out the case. While 13 other federal judges ruled that the warrant was invalid, they did not rule to throw out the case. Judge Robert J. Bryan ordered the FBI to hand over the code it used in the exploit, and the FBI declined. The law has changed since then, and the FBI now has the power to legally hack anyone, anywhere, with a warrant to prevent these rulings from happening again in the future, and to give them more tools to use online eliminating jurisdiction. The DoJ further said in their statement that the FBI action had led to the arrest of 51 people connected to the site, and to the rescue of 55 children who were being abused all across the US—from Connecticut, Massachusetts, Illinois, New York, New Jersey, Florida, Utah and Wisconsin. Included in those arrests was ex-Homeland Security Analyst Richard Armendariz, who worked as a U.S. Customs and Border Protection analyst for 42 years. Another admin of the site, Michael Fluckiger, was also sentenced to 20 years in prison last week. Browning’s co-administrator of the site Steven W Chase, from Florida, was also arrested as a result of the FBI investigation and is expected to be sentenced in the near future. FUKUSHIMA DISASTER: Radiation Levels ‘Unimaginably’ High At Reactor Plant
Posted: 08 Feb 2017 01:34 PM PST New reading taken from Reactor 2 at Fukushima reveals a global problem with “unimaginably high” radiation levelsWritten by: Emily Love Radiation at Fukushima’s nuclear power plant is reportedly at its highest level since the tsunami-triggered meltdown nearly six years ago. It is being said that it will take 40 years to decommission the plant, but even that estimate may be too optimistic. Tepco (Tokyo Electric Power Company) and its network of partner companies at Fukushima Daiichi have yet to identify the location and condition of melted fuel in the three most seriously damaged reactors. Professor Christopher Busby from the European Committee on Radiation Risks, gave RT his insight into the recent developments in Japan:
It has been reported that TEPCO found an area with higher levels of radiation than they had seen before. To do this, they used a 10.5-meter-long (34.4-foot-long) telescopic arm, examining an area inside reactor 2 called the “pedestal”. A camera attached to the arm revealed what looks like a grating that had been melted by exposed fuel from one of the reactors. The images show a square hole measuring 1 meter (3.3 feet) on each side, believed to have originated from melted fuel rods from a pressure vessel above. Earlier this week, the utility released images of dark lumps found beneath reactor No. 2 that it believes could be melted uranium fuel rods – the first such discovery since the disaster. If confirmed, this would be the first melted fuel found from the reactor – an important step towards decommissioning the plant itself. “Nuclear fuel in the Primary Containment Vessel (PCV) was exposed to the air and melted from the impact of [the] March 2011 Great Earthquake,” TEPCO noted in a media handout. “As a result of the accident analysis, it was found that a portion of melted nuclear fuel might have been fallen [sic] inside the pedestal.” The facility’s operator, Tepco, said atmospheric readings as high as 530 sieverts an hour had been recorded inside the containment vessel of reactor No 2, one of three reactors that experienced a meltdown when the plant was crippled in 2011. The recent reading, described by some experts as “unimaginable”, is far higher than the previous record of 73 sieverts an hour in that part of the reactor. A single dose of one sievert is enough to cause radiation sickness and nausea; 5 sieverts would kill half those exposed to it within a month, and a single dose of 10 sieverts would prove fatal within weeks. It is indisputable that there is a daily flow of radioactively-contaminatedgroundwater into the ocean. The flow is approximately 80,000 gallons per day of relatively low-level radioactive waste water. The storage tanks contain 800,000 tons of highly radioactive water. Every day they pour a hundred tons of water on each of these three melted-down cores. Sometimes they lose those tanks. They leak, they overflow – it is an ongoing catastrophe. Quantities of melted fuel are believed to have accumulated at the bottom of the damaged reactors’ containment vessels, but dangerously high radiation has prevented engineers from accurately gauging the state of the fuel deposits. State-of-the-art robotic technology, of which Japan is a leader, can only last so long because the electronics get fried by the gamma radiation and, possibly, the neutron radiation inside. Perhaps future technological developments and robotics can help. In order to decommission Fukushima, engineers first need to find the melted fuel. TEPCO still don’t know where the cores are. Removing it safely represents a challenge unprecedented in the history of nuclear power. Once the fuel has been found, it’s thought it will take four decades to completely decommission Fukushima. The total cost of the project is expected to cost an eye-watering 21.5 trillion yen ($188 billion), which is almost double an estimate in 2013. The original meltdown at Fukushima was caused when a 9.0-magnitudeearthquake off the northeast coast of Japan triggered a tsunami on March 11, 2011. More than 18,500 people were killed, and the backup power supply at Fukushima was destroyed, causing three of its six reactors to fail. About 160,000 people had to be evacuated as a result, with little prospect of ever returning. One website suggests the original disaster was a meteorological terrorist attack launched against Japan by the New World Order. Heneghan proposes that the NSA Virus “Stuxnet” hacked Fukushima before HAARP caused the earthquake. We Are Change can’t verify these claims but it certainly makes fascinating reading. As Tokyo plans to host the 2020 Olympics which will bring in many millions of extra people into this already densely populated area, TEPCO and the Japanese government must be hoping nothing goes wrong with the radioactive waste storage pools. They could still potentially go up in flames. This would then necessitate the evacuation of all of Northeast Japan – up to 50 million people.
