Britain’s Coup Attempt Against President Trump Blowing Up in Its Face—Act Now To End the Empire for Good

Sept. 19 (EIRNS)—Just days ago, President Trump took off the gloves on the vast corruption in Obama’s U.S. intelligence community—ordering the declassification of the FBI and Justice Department documents used for the Russiagate scam and the Mueller witch hunt. This courageous move, if properly carried through, will fully expose the subservience of the Bush and Obama intelligence teams to the British-orchestrated coup attempt against this nation’s President.

Perhaps encouraged by this act by President Trump, the person whose actions supposedly (but falsely) were the cause of the launching of the FBI effort to frame Trump, both as a candidate and then as President, has gone public with the British responsibility for the entire operation. The Mueller team has claimed that George Papadopoulos, a low-level foreign policy advisor to the Trump campaign, first sparked the illegal investigation by revealing to the Australian ambassador to the U.K., in a drunken bar room meeting in London, that the Russians had hacked emails from the Democratic Party. Papadopoulos told Fox News on Tuesday night that the entire story was fabricated, and that he had been set up by British government and intelligence figures, with full knowledge of Obama and his intelligence team, to create the justification for the effort by the British and their U.S. assets to stop Trump’s election, and to bring him down if that effort failed.

In the Fox News interview and in several tweets, Papadopoulos said [spellings are in original]:

  • It “Would be a very very big problem if British intelligence was weaponized against an American citizen.”

  • “I think it’s time [Australian Ambassador] Downer is as exposed as Chrisopher Steele.”

  • “It doesn’t matter if the UK is an ally or not, their Prime Minister should not have intervened in the democratic process in this country.”

  • “The BRITISH (Stefan Halper), AUSTRALIANS (Alexander Downer and Erika Thompson) … all spied on an American citizen and campaign. Obama, Brennan, and Clapper knew.”

  • “I have never knowingly met a Russian official in my life. However, while I was in the campaign, I had an incredible amount of interventions with British diplomats…. It is impossible that the British had no idea about what was going on.”

The effort to cover up the British role in this attempted coup, which has been documented by the LaRouche organization from its inception, but which has been covered up by the “fake news” press, can no longer be hidden.

President Trump has proudly declared that his order to declassify the Russiagate documents is “a great service to the country. I hope to be able to put this up as one of my crowning achievements…, to expose something that is truly a cancer in our country.” He described the entire Russia-collusion investigation as “a hoax, beyond a witch hunt…, one of the great scandals in the history of our country.”

The guilty parties to this treason against the nation, both Obama’s intelligence leaders and the Democratic leaders in the Congress, are scared, and rightly so, having been caught out in their crimes. The Congressional Democratic leaders have written a public letter to the current heads of the FBI, DOJ and the Director of National Intelligence, demanding that they refuse the President’s order. Former CIA Director John Brennan, while admitting that the President has full authority to issue such an order, nonetheless calls on the same three intelligence leaders to “push back” on Trump’s order, and if “Trump and the White House do not relent,” then they should refuse to follow the order.

This attack on the Presidency is a life-or-death issue for the nation, but also opens up the potential to end the British Empire, and the very idea of Empire, once and for all.

As EIR documented in the September 2017 investigative report “Robert Mueller Is an Amoral Legal Assassin,” this is not the first time Mueller has carried out a dirty operation on behalf of the British Empire. That document details Mueller’s role in setting up the “Get LaRouche Task Force” in the 1980s, sparked by Lyndon LaRouche’s nearly successful effort to convince President Ronald Reagan to cooperate with the Soviet Union in developing a space-based defense against nuclear missiles, to end the MAD (mutually assured destruction) brinksmanship created by the British. The fact that the nation tolerated this illegal effort to silence LaRouche led eventually to the same treatment being imposed on a President, Donald Trump—massive lies and dirty tricks by the FBI and the nation’s corrupt media.

It was also Robert Mueller, as FBI chief after 9/11, who systematically shut off every investigation into the role of the Saudi regime, a central hub of the British Empire, in funding and coordinating that terrorist attack on the nation. The effort by the LaRouche organization, and by the families of the victims, to release all the 9/11 documents covered up by Mueller, is now urgent, and has become more feasible due to the exposure of Mueller’s role in the operation against Trump.

LaRouche PAC is committed to stopping this coup. The Congressional campaign of Kesha Rogers in Houston, Texas is the spear-point of that effort. Rogers is running as an independent against the blustering Democrat Al Green, who is campaigning on the single issue of impeaching Trump, claiming it is not necessary to find him guilty of a crime. It is not a “local” campaign in the normal sense, but the focus of a national campaign to stop the Democratic party of war and impeachment from taking over the Congress in November.

Awakening the nation to this cause, including LaRouche’s program to restore the American System, to join the spirit of the New Silk Road, and to initiate a New Bretton Woods Conference to establish sanity in the world financial system, are now totally within our grasp, and more urgent than ever.

U.S. POLITICAL AND ECONOMIC

Papadopoulos Hits the British Dead Center

Sept. 19 (EIRNS)— George Papadopoulos, who has accepted a whopping 14-day sentence for his pleading guilty for lying to the FBI, has now come clean with his experience as a target of British intelligence, aimed at getting to Trump. Speaking on Martha MacCallum’s “The Story” on Fox last night, he said he has retraced his steps, in his notes and in his memory, leading up to the infamous meeting with then-Australian High Commissioner to the U.K. Alexander Downer in a bar in London in late April 2016. He said the American people deserve to hear the story, and that he would be testifying before the Congress.

Excerpts of his statement:

“The people I was meeting were incredibly suspicious. It was clear this meeting [with Downer] was completely controlled, and was not a random invitation for a drink.

“There was an Israeli diplomat, Christian Cantor, who absolutely detested Trump, who one day in London decided to introduce me to his so-called girlfriend, Erika Thompson, who just happened to be an intelligence officer from Australia, and a senior advisor to Downer. This was April 2016. I only learned about the dirt from Mifsud [the Maltese academic spook who told him that the Russians had e-mails hacked from the U.S.] in late April.

“Why was an Australian intelligence officer meeting with me and probing me about … what the campaign was doing in regard to Russia, in April, before Mifsud told me about the dirt?

“Fast forward to the beginning of May. I had given an interview to the Times of London in which I essentially humiliated—by accident, I guess—the U.K. prime minister by asking him to apologize and retract his derogatory statements about candidate Trump, about his idea about a Muslim ban—I thought David Cameron should never have been calling Trump stupid or idiotic for these comments. It doesn’t matter if the U.K. is an ally or not, their Prime Minister should not have intervened in the democratic process in this country.

“A couple of days after that interview, all of a sudden I’m approached by two officials from what I think are the Defense Intelligence Agency of the U.S. Embassy in London, who decide to meet with me and probe me about what is happening. Then a day or so after that, Alexander Downer wants to meet me in a bar, along with his assistant, who is an Australian intelligence officer. Now, I do not remember at all talking about e-mails with Downer. He himself has contradicted himself, I think at least three times, in subsequent interviews he has given about the encounter. What I remember was that he was incredibly belligerent, he despised Trump, he was very hostile toward the campaign.”

[MacCallum put up a tweet from him:

“The BRITISH (Stefan Halper), AUSTRALIAN (Alexander Downer and Erika Thompson) and TURKISH (Azra Turk, spy working for Halper) all spied on an American citizen and campaign. Obama, Brennan and Clapper knew.”

MacCallum asks if he can prove the Americans were in on it:]

“All I can say is … that when Stefan Halper lured me to London, it is unfathomable that the British government did not realize, or have information of, what was going on between myself and Halper and his Turkish assistant, who had lured me to London to spy on me. The same day—and here things get incredibly weird—that Halper met me in London, the British Ministry of Foreign Affairs invited me to their offices to meet with diplomats.

“I have never knowingly met a Russian official in my life. However, while I was in the campaign, I had an incredible amount of interactions with British diplomats, to the extent that they personally delivered Theresa May’s letter to me about Trump when he was elected President. I’m not sure why they were around me as much as they were, no idea why Stefan Halper lured me to London for the meeting, but it’s impossible that the British had no idea about what was going on.”

Papadopoulos put out several tweets in the week preceding this interview, including (spellings are maintained):

Sept. 17: If I am going to be under scrutiny for contacts with a Maltese prof, the fake niece of Putin, and a Russian think tank analyst, then I definitly should also be for my numerous interactions with western intel and diplomats, right?

Sept. 13: While I have never met a Russian official in my life knowingly, the British government liked to meet me quite often throughout the campaign. Including Tobias Ellwood, who was right under Boris Johnson, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Sept. 12: Hons: @SenatorBurr and @MarkWarner if I do testify, I think it’s also important for me to detail my interactions with US intelligence officials from US Embassy, London. Gregory Baker and Terrence Dudley. Both wanted to ingratiate themselves in campaign via myself.

Sept. 10: Would be a very very big problem if British intelligence was weopanized against an American citizen.

Sept. 10: The notion that Downer randomly reached out to me just to have a gin and tonic is laughable. Some organization or entity sent him to meet me. For the sake of our republic and the integrity of this investigation, I think it’s time Downer is as exposed as Chrisopher Steele.

Sept. 10: I found it so odd that Downer, who gained notoriety in Australia for wearing women’s fish nets, invited me to “order” me to stop “bothering” his good friend David Cameron. And told me my views were hostile to British interests.

Australia’s Downer Down on Papadopoulos’s Charge

Sept. 19 (EIRNS)—“It’s not in Australia’s national interest that I get involved in this debate, and I’m not prepared to,” former Australian diplomat Alexander Downer huffed when questioned by a BuzzFeed reporter outside BBC’s London headquarters today about George Papadopoulos’s charge that Downer, then Australia’s High Commissioner to the U.K., was acting as a “spy” when he met with Papadopoulos in the middle of the 2016 U.S. presidential campaign.

What a gem. The “diplomat” who claimed to have triggered the investigation into Russiagate which aimed to prevent candidate Donald Trump from winning the U.S. presidential election, told BuzzFeed today that he was not going to answer anything, because “I’m not getting involved in American politics!”

No other U.S. establishment media is yet known to have reported on Papadopoulos’s detailed exposé of British interference in the 2016 election on Fox News “The Story with Martha MacCallum” on Tuesday night, but the import of the charge is not lost on the British. BuzzFeed reports that Downer got huffy when BBC radio also asked him about the charges he were a spy, protesting that “I was the Australian High Commissioner. I’m not going to get into these sort of allegations.”

Congressional Democratic Leaders Demand Coats, Rosenstein, Wray Refuse Trump’s Direct Order

Sept. 19 (EIRNS)—The four aging whiz kids who head the House and Senate Democrats have issued a public letter to Director of National ntelligence Dan Coats, Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein, and FBI Director Christopher Wray demanding that they disobey the direct order from the Commander in Chief to declassify the documents used by Comey and Mueller to concoct the fake Russiagate operation to oust President Trump.

Minority leaders Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer, and House and Senate ranking Intelligence Committee members Adam Schiff and Mark Warner, write that they feel “profound alarm” at Trump’s order, that he is “interfering in an ongoing law enforcement investigation that may implicate the President himself,” in a “brazen abuse of power.” If they do follow the direct order, these members of Congress claim, they will violate Justice Department policies and the “assurances you have provided to us.” They assert that these three officials—whom they apparently believe they can convince to reject the Constitution, which allows the President to do what he did—had given them “verbal assurance” that “DOJ and FBI would not provide the White House or any of the President’s attorneys with access to sensitive information,” which they had received as privileged Members of Congress.

They are particularly concerned that the DOJ had announced that they had begun the review process to meet the order, “in conjunction with the White House Counsel.” This, they assert, is “highly improper and profoundly troubling,” again asserting that the President should “not be given access to any sensitive law enforcement or national security information” related to the witch hunt.

They have reason to be concerned—the documents to be declassified could well land their favorite former intelligence officials in jail, and their own chances of returning to the Congress may decline dramatically, if they are not themselves shown to have participated in the criminal acts to overthrow the President on behalf of a foreign power.

STRATEGIC WAR DANGER

Trump Indicates Again That He Wants U.S. Troops Out of Syria

Sept. 19 (EIRNS)—During his joint press conference in Washington with Polish President Andrzej Duda, President Trump indicated that he still desires to get U.S. troops out of Syria, despite the statements of certain State Department officials who say that U.S. troops are there to stay. “We have done a tremendous job in Syria and in that region eradicating ISIS, which is why we’re there. And we’re very close to being finished with that job, and then we’re going to make a determination as to what we’re going to do,” he said when asked about the latest developments there. Referring to Vice President Mike Pence and Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, he said, “they’ve done an incredible job over there, but we’ll make a decision fairly quickly.”

Trump also addressed the downing of the Russian intelligence aircraft on Monday night. “It sounds to me and it seems to me, just like based on a review of the facts, that Syria shot down a Russian plane,” he said. “And I understand about 14 people were killed, at least. And that’s a very sad thing. But that’s what happens.”

Secretary Pompeo also issued a statement expressing sorrow for the Russian deaths and stated that the incident only underscores the necessity of a solution to the conflict. “Yesterday’s unfortunate incident reminds us of the need to find permanent, peaceful, and political resolutions to the many overlapping conflicts in the region and the danger of tragic miscalculation in Syria’s crowded theater of operations,” he said. “It underlines the urgent need to resolve the Syrian conflict in accordance with UNSC Resolution 2254 and to end Iran’s provocative transit of dangerous weapon systems through Syria, which are a threat to the region.”

The details of the shootdown of Russia’s reconnaissance plane were covered in the Sept. 19 issue of EIR Daily Alert.

Frantic Efforts Underway in Argentina to Jail Former President Cristina Fernández de Kirchner

Sept. 19 (EIRNS)—Argentina’s Federal Judge Claudio Bonadio, who aspires to be the Argentine version of Brazil’s “anti-corruption” operation “Lava Jato” Judge Sergio Moro, has indicted, for the sixth time, former President and current Sen. Cristina Fernández de Kirchner.

This time, Bonadio alleges that as President, she functioned as the kingpin of a giant “illicit association” scheme, through which she supposedly received billions of dollars in bribes from businessmen seeking public works contracts. Fernández has not been tried or convicted for these alleged crimes, but Bonadio is demanding her parliamentary immunity be lifted, which requires Senate approval, so she can be subjected to pre-trial detention.

In recent weeks, with the full backing of the Macri government, Bonadio has ratcheted up his offensive against Fernández, with high-profile raids on her homes in Buenos Aires and in Santa Cruz (Patagonia), in which no “evidence” was found, but which served as a media spectacle for public consumption. Security Minister Patricia Bullrich is now offering financial rewards to anyone who comes forward with evidence against Fernández. Business executives parading through Buenos Aires courts to “confess”—they are called “the penitents”—have been rewarded with freedom, while those who don’t are thrown in jail. As a lawyer for one of the accused told Ambito Financiero, “they’ve created a kind of criminal law of rewards; the whore gets the reward.”

This is exactly the modus operandi of Brazil’s “Lava Jato” (“Operation Carwash”) anti-corruption dragnet, which has destroyed that nation’s institutions and badly damaged its scientific and technological capabilities. Argentine engineer Gerardo Ferreyra, owner of the large Electroingeneria engineering firm, is a case in point. Ferreyra is now in jail, because, as he explained in a letter published by Mundo Empresarial, “I don’t repent. I don’t capitulate!” Pointing to President Mauricio Macri’s real financial crimes, Ferreyra expressed pride in his own history and his convictions, listing his company’s many achievements over years, including its strategic alliance with the China Gezhouba Group Co. (CGGC) to build the giant hydroelectric complex in Santa Cruz, the completion of the Atucha II nuclear plant, building three thermo-electric power plants, and a total of 100 infrastructure projects in 24 provinces completed on time and on budget. There is no reason to repent, he said defiantly.

THE NEW GLOBAL ECONOMIC ORDER

Two Korean Leaders Sign Agreements in Pyongyang for Peace on Peninsula, Will Meet Next in Seoul

Sept. 19 (EIRNS)—North Korean Chairman Kim Jong Un and South Korean President Moon Jae-in signed a joint document following their talks in Pyongyang today, agreeing to take measures to defuse tensions on the Korean Peninsula and move towards peace and cooperation.

“South and North agreed to turn the demilitarized border zone into the zone of peace and prosperity,” South Korean President Moon said at a joint press conference. North Korean Chairman Kim said that “the Pyongyang declaration will open a new era of prosperity and peace for both Koreas.” He described the talks as “very substantive,” reported TASS. Kim said that a comprehensive military deal, signed by the two states’ defense ministers during the summit, will contribute to denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula.

Kim is expected to visit Seoul by the end of the year, South Korean President Moon told reporters. “The visit should take place by the end of the year, if nothing extraordinary happens,” he said, and stated that the visit would be “a turning point in inter-Korean relations.” This would be the first visit by a North Korean leader to the South Korean capital.

The joint statement calls for setting up a joint committee comprising top officials of the two states and for reconnecting severed rails and roads across the border. “South and North have agreed that works to reconnect the railways and roads in the East and West should begin within a year,” the document reads.

Kim has also agreed to allow international inspectors into North Korea for inspection of certain projects dismantling nuclear and missile sites.

Moon said North Korea also agreed to shut down its experimental nuclear reactor in the Yongbyon Nuclear Scientific Research Center. “North Korea gave its consent to fully stop the work of the nuclear reactor in Yongbyon,” he said. The Yongbyon Nuclear Scientific Research Center houses a uranium enrichment facility and a 5-megawatt reactor, built by North Korean scientists in 1986. According to experts, every year it can produce enough materials to make several nuclear warheads.

Trump tweeted: “Kim Jong Un has agreed to allow Nuclear inspections, subject to final negotiations, and to permanently dismantle a test site and launch pad in the presence of international experts. In the meantime there will be no Rocket or Nuclear testing. Hero remains to continue being returned home to the United States. Also, North and South Korea will file a joint bid to host the 2032 Olympics. Very exciting!”

Sino-Japanese Cooperation in Belt and Road Will Start in Thailand

Sept. 19 (EIRNS)—Thailand’s Transport Minister Arkhom Termpittayapaisith has announced that Japan and China plan to jointly invest in Thailand’s infrastructure projects, specifically a high-speed rail connection from Bangkok to U-Tapao airport (the former U.S. B-52 airbase during the war on Indochina) on the eastern shore.

This is the first implementation of the Memo of Cooperation signed between China and Japan during Premier Li Keqiang’s visit to Japan in May, agreeing to cooperate in third-party investments along the Belt and Road.

Global Times notes that Thailand wants to share risks with China and Japan. “The country is implementing Thailand 4.0, a 20-year national strategy, with the Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC) is a flagship development project. The rail connection along the Corridor is estimated to cost $7.24 billion, under a public-private partnership of 50 years.

Japan accounts for 70% of the total foreign investment in Thailand, while China is the leading trading partner, with a growing investment commitment.

On May 31, a seminar about China-Japan third-party cooperation on the EEC was held in Bangkok, during which representatives from governments and enterprises of the three countries discussed the possibility of cooperation.

The LaRouche organization has long proposed that the building of the Kra Canal in southern Thailand would be the perfect project to bring China and Japan together in joint development, given the huge benefit to both countries which the Kra Canal would bring. This rail project should advance the needed cooperation to move on to the Kra Canal.

SCIENCE AND INFRASTRUCTURE

Congress Moves To Restore Funding and Research on Fusion Energy Reactor Concepts

Sept. 19 (EIRNS)—When the cuts were made in magnetic fusion funding, starting in the 1980s, the program was put under the Office of Science, in the Department of Energy. Studies that had been done the previous decade on how to proceed to the next-step Engineering Test Reactor, as mandated in the 1980 McCormack Fusion Energy Engineering Act, were put on the shelf. Fusion became a purely “science” program, with the word “energy” taken out of its vocabulary, along with the disappearance of research in materials, superconducting magnets, and the other new technologies that a fusion power plant would need. This may now change.

The appropriations bill that has just passed the Congress for Fiscal Year 2019 includes significant increases for fusion. The total is $564 million, compared to $532 million for FY18, with increases in both the domestic programs and contributions to the International Thermonuclear Experimental Reactor, or ITER.

Most importantly, the bill directs the Department of Energy to “review establishing a reactor concepts research, development and deployment activity.” It requires that there be a briefing for the Committees on recommendations no later than 180 days from enactment of the bill. This should “include a technical plan … and funding profile for future fiscal years.”

If the plan the fusion community develops is approved by the Congress, the U.S. scientists will join their colleagues in Europe, Japan, China, and South Korea, who are already developing their plans for the next step in fusion energy research.
