This company can run. But it can’t hide.

Ronnie Cummins holding a bottle of RoundupDear Reader,

What’s the first thing Bayer did after the U.S. approved the Bayer-Monsanto buyout?

The German chemical giant announced that the name “Monsanto” will disappear.

Our response? Monsanto can run, but it can’t hide—as long as we stay committed to holding the “Biotech Bully” accountable for its crimes.

Your donation today will fund more litigation, more investigative journalism, and the most comprehensive study ever undertaken on Roundup weedkiller’s devastating impact on human health. Click here to donate online or for details on how to donate by phone or mail.

Bayer executives know that the name “Monsanto” is as toxic as the brand’s products and monoculture farming practices.

That’s why Bayer is desperate to distance itself from Monsanto’s ugly reputation—by “disappearing” the Monsanto name.

It’s up to us to keep Monsanto’s name in the news. And keep the pressure on until Roundup is banned.

How will we do that? With your help, we’ll devote more resources to:

• Our lawsuit against Monsanto for deceptively claiming that its Roundup weedkiller is “safe” for humans and pets.

Walk into Home Depot this time of year and you’ll see a giant display dedicated to Roundup. On the product’s label, you’ll see this lie: “Glyphosate targets an enzyme found in plants but not in people or pets.” According to the latest science, that’s not true.

Monsanto tried—and failed—to get our lawsuit dismissed. Monsanto (and now Bayer) make billions of dollars selling Roundup weedkiller, both to farmers and to consumers—while lying about the product’s safety. Your donation will help us mount a strong legal case to get that false claim removed.

• Our support of U.S. Right to Know’s investigations into and media coverage of Monsanto’s deceptive practices.

Thanks to the relentless work of Carey Gillam and others at USRTK, the public knows more than ever about Monsanto’s attempt to bury the truth about Roundup’s toxicity, including the fact that it can cause cancer (as the World Health Organization confirmed in March 2015).

Monsanto is so afraid of Gillam, that the company petitioned the courts to “exclude any evidence, argument, or reference” to Gillam’s book, “Whitewash: The Story of a Weedkiller, Cancer, and the Corruption of Science” in testimony related to lawsuits filed by people who believe exposure to Roundup caused their non-Hodgkin lymphoma cancer. OCA is one of the largest financial supporters of USRTK. Your donation today will help us sustain our support for this critical investigative work.

• Our support for the Global Glyphosate Study.

Countless studies show links between glyphosate, the active ingredient in Roundup, and a host of human illnesses, including kidney and liver disease, chronic gastrointestinal illnesses, allergies, birth defects and cancer. But until now, there has been no long-term, comprehensive study of the type being undertaken by the Ramazzini Institute in collaboration with other medical institutions.

Ramazzini’s pilot study, which will serve as the foundation for the full study, has already linked exposure to “very low” levels of glyphosate—like those found in many foods, including Ben & Jerry’s ice cream—to human health problems, including alteration of the human gut microbiome.

If the full study is conclusive, it could lead to a global ban on Roundup. Your donation today will help us support this landmark study.

Monsanto-Bayer isn’t feeding the world. It’s feeding us toxic chemicals. And lies.

Please help us fund more litigation, more investigative journalism, and the most comprehensive study ever undertaken on Roundup weedkiller’s devastating impact on human health. Click here to donate online or for details on how to donate by phone or mail.

Monsanto’s name is going away. But with your help, we aren’t.

In solidarity,

Ronnie Cummins
International Director
