Harrison Schmitt: Moon-Mars ‘Important for Dispersal of Human Species throughout the Solar System—and Beyond’

July 24 (EIRNS)—Harrison Schmitt, the last human being to walk on the Moon, and perhaps the most insightful spokesman for the space program, told the Telegraph this week that the “Moon and Mars settlement is extremely important for the dispersal of the human species throughout the Solar System, and possibly beyond.” As did the Schiller Institute conference on July 20, on the 50th anniversary of the Apollo Moon landing, which was titled: Mankind’s Future Must Determine Our Present: A Dialogue of Cultures on How To Develop the Population and the Productive Workforce for Earth’s Next Fifty Years,” so also Harrison Schmitt addressed the “100th anniversary of Apollo,” saying that at that time “there will be settlements on the Moon, people living there permanently, producing the resources of the Moon…. Settlements on the Moon are going to be a piece of cake.”

This is the truthful optimism required to break through the deadly cult of lies and pessimism peddled by the Green New Deal, the promoters of the anthropomorphic climate change hoax, trying to convince demoralized citizens—especially the youth—that the world is doomed if industrial progress is not reversed, and the population is not reduced to the 1 billion (or less) people, the supposed “carrying capacity” of our Earth. This is, of course, a lie—our Earth can easily provide sustenance and productive employment for many multiples of the current paltry world population of less than 8 billion. But, as Helga Zepp-LaRouche has stated, how can anyone gaze at the Heavens, knowing that there are an estimated 2 trillion galaxies out there, in our “finite but unbounded universe” (as Einstein discovered), and imagine that there are any limits to our growth or population potential?

It is not coincidental that Harrison Schmitt is also the co-founder of the CO2 Coalition, with Dr. William Happer, Professor Emeritus in the Department of Physics at Princeton University, insisting that the “myth” that CO2 causes climate change, or that it is a hazardous pollutant, is “both unscientific and immoral to perpetuate.”

It is our task, as human beings, to refute such modern versions of Chicken Little, as no better than the character of that nursery rhyme, which helped children discover for themselves that, indeed, the sky was not falling. And it must be refuted quickly. As the Deutsche Bank ongoing collapse testifies, the substitution of wind mills and solar panels for nuclear and fusion power will not only fail to get us to the Moon, but it will also destroy the scientific progress necessary to increase the power of the human productive platform required to sustain human existence. The likes of the new president of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, who intends to make Europe “carbon neutral” by 2050, would instead drive a rapid depopulation of the Earth, economic chaos and war. Such lunacy, and especially the child abuse being committed against our children—who are being told that there is no use to go to school, or to have children, since the world will be destroyed in 12 years through global warming—must be identified for the genocidal intention behind the lies.

At the same time, the beautiful future that is on the agenda for the next 50 years under the implementation of LaRouche’s Four Laws, with the United States joining with China and Russia in the Belt and Road development of the formerly colonized nations, and in space exploration, and in creating a new world creditary system to make this possible—all this is both possible and absolutely essential.

The British coup attempt against President Donald Trump is being exposed today, before the world, as the pathetic Robert Mueller, the hit man who imprisoned Lyndon LaRouche in the 1980s, and tried to repeat the process against President Trump, appeared before the Congress. Even several of those Democrats demanding impeachment of the President were forced to admit that the hearings were a disaster for them. Now, if Attorney General William Barr moves expeditiously in his investigation into those who launched the entire fraudulent “Russiagate” hoax, the British plot will be exposed and destroyed for good.

Trump is close to being liberated from this treasonous operation. To finish the job, and to realize his oft repeated intention to build friendly ties with Russia and China, ending the British imperial division of the world once and for all, requires the exoneration of Lyndon LaRouche, freeing mankind to study his profound ideas, to bring the world together in pursuit of the “extraterrestrial imperative,” as Krafft Ehricke profoundly identified the true nature of Mankind.

U.S. POLITICAL AND ECONOMIC

Democrats and Mueller in Historic Failure

July 24 (EIRNS)—On May 29th, Robert Mueller stood at the podium at the U.S. Department of Justice, read, laboriously and in a shaky voice, a ten-minute statement whose bottom line was that he wished to vanish immediately into private life.  The Democrats on the House Judiciary and Intelligence Committees should have paid attention.  They did not.

Within the first ten minutes of his much-touted testimony before the House Judiciary and Intelligence Committees, today, it became clear that, as with the Russiagate hoax itself, there is “no there, there” presently, when it comes to the Special Counsel himself.  Former Assistant U.S. Attorney Andrew McCarthy tweeted that based on Mueller’s wandering, evasive, and sometimes incoherent answers, “it is inconceivable” that Mueller was involved at all in his own investigation. Barack Obama’s political guru, David Axelrod, pronounced the hearings “extremely painful” to watch and sought to couch what everyone plainly observed in the most polite and sensitive terms possible. Constitutional scholar and Obama adviser, Laurence Tribe, declaimed that Mueller, himself, had “sucked the life out of his report” during the morning’s hearing.  Fox’s Chris Wallace, no fan of Donald Trump, pronounced the hearings a disaster for the Democrats and for Mueller’s reputation. Former Congressman Trey Gowdy commented, sadly, “the person who learned the most about the Mueller Report today was Bob Mueller.”

The hearings proved what President Donald Trump had otherwise repetitively tweeted.  The witch hunt was run entirely by the angry Democrats Mueller hired to go after Trump, with Mueller himself serving as a largely empty suit of “rectitude.” Those familiar with Edgar Allan Poe will be reminded of “The Man Who Was All Used Up.”

For those who did not watch or fled after the first few minutes, here are the “Cliff’s Notes.”

(1) The morning hearing before the House Judiciary Committee consisted of each House Democrat attempting a dramatic reading to Mueller of the “five episodes” of possible obstruction of justice cited in Mueller’s report, trying to elicit the conclusion that this was clearly felonious conduct.  Mueller responded on most occasions that he would not endorse the conclusion advanced, and, in an obviously rehearsed fashion proclaiming that he either “supported” his own report, or would not go beyond the report. Mueller asked to have questions repeated to him, or for citations from his own report to be repeated, even though the citations themselves were displayed on a video screen in front of him. Each exchange would end with the Democratic Congress person chanting, in some rehearsed fashion, “no one is above the law.” According to numerous press reports the Democrats had rehearsed their performances endlessly and detailed their makeup for prime time.

Of course, Mueller himself concluded that he could not reach a decision about obstruction of justice despite also concluding that the President was innocent of the underlying crime or crimes he was investigating. He also admitted today, repeatedly that his investigation was not, in fact, obstructed. Attorney General William Barr and Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein, who said they were stunned by Mueller’s punting of his prosecutorial mandate, promptly found that the five episodes cited by Mueller did not amount to obstruction of justice.  The key element to prove in obstruction of justice prosecutions is corrupt intent. If the President honestly believes he is the victim of a witch hunt and prosecutorial abuse, expressing his anger and frustrations with this process, the episodes described by Mueller’s attack dogs, can never constitute corrupt intent.

(2). The Republicans focused on the fact that the Mueller Report and investigation completely evaded profound questions about the origins of the Russiagate hoax, the illegal tactics used to concoct that hoax, the bias of Mueller’s investigative agents, the illegalities in Mueller’s investigation itself, and the fact that the Mueller Report itself did not present exculpatory information, particularly with regard to the “five episodes” of possible obstruction of justice.  Mueller refused to answer any of these questions including on topics which were covered in his report.  Astoundingly, and as if to prove Andy McCarthy’s tweet, Mueller announced that he was not familiar with the Clinton Campaign vendor, Fusion GPS, the firm which hired Christopher Steele.  Popular columnist Matt Taibbi tweeting about the Special Prosecutor’s mental acuteness, stated, “Anyone who lines a parrot cage with newspaper would know that.”

(3). Rep. Doug Collins hit the nail on the head as to what the “obstruction of justice” fraud presented in the morning Judiciary Committee hearing was all about.  While Mueller said that there was insufficient evidence to link anyone in the Trump Campaign with alleged Russian interference in the election, whoever actually wrote his long fictional novel claimed that the Special Counsel “could not exonerate” the President for obstruction of justice.  Collins asked where, anywhere, in the laws of the United States or Justice Department regulations, is “exoneration” part of a prosecutor’s duties.  Mueller admitted that there was no such authority.  In fact, Mueller undertaking this fake duty completely undermines the constitutional presumption of innocence.

(4). The Democrats had an orgasm over Mueller seeming to testify in the morning session that, were it not for a Justice Department Office of General Counsel opinion that a sitting President can’t be indicted, Trump would have been indicted for obstruction. However, Mueller retracted that testimony and any such inference at the beginning of the House Intelligence hearing in the afternoon.

(5). The afternoon session featured Adam Schiff pontificating on the President’s alleged disloyalty for not going after the Russians with the McCarthyite fervor presently on display throughout Washington, D.C.  Other Democrats sermonized about the President’s “greed” and “business motivations.”  The only reveal was given in the opening statement of Devin Nunes, who stated that this national nightmare, initiated as James Comey’s FBI investigation of a sitting President, resulted not from any intelligence agency product, but rather as a tip from a former foreign politician about Joseph Mifsud. That politician appears to be Australia’s former Ambassador in London, and imperial spook Alexander Downer. Mifsud’s role as a Western intelligence plant tasked to entrap George Papadopoulos has been extensively reported over the past 24 hours by The Hill’s John Solomon (“Robert Mueller Soon May Be Exposed as the ‘Magician of Omission’ on Russia”).

With impeachment now dead, and the transition into the investigators kicking off, we are certain to learn a whole lot more about this.  As the President tweeted after Mueller left Capitol Hill, “THE TRUTH IS A FORCE OF NATURE!”

Trump Tweets During the Mueller Testimony:

July 24 (EIRNS)—Trump was watching, and quoting and tweeting:

It has been reported that Robert Mueller is saying that he did not apply and interview for the job of FBI Director (and get turned down) the day before he was wrongfully appointed Special Counsel. Hope he doesn’t say that under oath in that we have numerous witnesses to the interview, including the Vice President of the United States!

“This has been a disaster for the Democrats and a disaster for the reputation of Robert Mueller.” Chris Wallace @FoxNews

“Mueller was asked whether or not the investigation was impeded in any way, and he said no.” In other words, there was NO OBSTRUCTION.  @KatiePavlich @FoxNews

TRUTH IS A FORCE OF NATURE!

I would like to thank the Democrats for holding this morning’s hearing. Now, after 3 hours, Robert Mueller has to subject himself to #ShiftySchiff—an Embarrassment to our Country!

President’s Enemies Pouring In Admissions of Defeat

July 24 (EIRNS)—Trump’s enemies express their pain:

Michael Moore: “A frail old man, unable to remember things, stumbling, refusing to answer basic questions…. I said it in 2017 and Mueller confirmed it today. All you pundits and moderates and lame Dems who told the public to put their faith in the esteemed Robert Mueller—just STFU from now on.”

Henry Olsen: Writes a Washington Post op-ed, headlined: “Mueller’s Testimony Crystallized Public Opinion against Impeachment,” Olsen writes: “Even many Americans who dislike President Trump see this for what it is: a partisan witch hunt.”

David Axelrod: “This is delicate to say, but Mueller, whom I deeply respect, has not publicly testified before Congress in at least six years. And he does not appear as sharp as he was then.”

Laurence Tribe: tweeted, “Much as I hate to say it, this morning’s hearing was a disaster. Far from breathing life into his damning report, the tired Robert Mueller sucked the life out of it. The effort to save democracy and the rule of law from this lawless president has been set back, not advanced.”

Trump May Have Reach His Limit with Warhawk Bolton, Suggests Washington Examiner

July 24 (EIRNS)—The Washington Examiner wrote yesterday that President Donald Trump has reportedly reached his limit with the endless war policy of National Security Adviser John Bolton, and is seeking to remove him.

In a July 23 article, entitled, “Trump, Souring on John Bolton, Meets One Potential Replacement and Eyes Another,” correspondent Steven Nelson reports: “President Trump’s frustrations with National Security Adviser John Bolton are boiling over and he is considering removing his hawkish foreign policy aide, according to sources close to the White House.”

He quotes former White House official said, “It’s certainly become clear to anyone who knows the way this President operates that Bolton’s time is coming to an end. It’s just unclear if he has a few more weeks or a few more months.” Another former White House official told the daily, “the President has seriously been considering other options.” Two additional former White House officials corroborated these remarks.

Nelson cites the Washington Post as reporting earlier this month, the claim that White House Chief of Staff Mick Mulvaney and Bolton “are barely on speaking terms,” and that one of Mulvaney’s deputies has the task to “regularly battle” Bolton allies.

Nelson writes that insiders have named two possible candidates to replace Bolton, as retired Army Col. Douglas Macgregor and Maj. Gen. Ricky Waddell.  Macgregor is a long-time critic of regime change in Afghanistan, Iran, and Syria, and is reported to have met recently with the President. General Waddell was Deputy National Security Adviser under McMaster, whom Bolton replaced when he became National Security Adviser. Waddell currently serves as Assistant to the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, and is reportedly favored by Mike Pompeo, with whom, Nelson avers, Bolton “has vied for leadership on foreign affairs.”

Articles, such as that in the Examiner that rely on anonymous sources must be evaluated with caution. However, a growing pro-Trump spectrum of forces view Bolton’s policy as dangerous, which could bring the world to the brink of nuclear war, and this article appears to be a venue for those forces to bring the firing Bolton to a head.

STRATEGIC WAR DANGER

Turkey Hints It May Cut Off U.S. Access to Incirlik Airbase if U.S. Imposes New Sanctions

July 24 (EIRNS)—Turkey is preparing a response should the Trump Administration go ahead with sanctions against Turkey under the 2017 Countering America’s Adversaries Through Sanctions Act (CAATSA), for the Turkish purchase of the Russian S-400 air defense system. Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu hinted on July 22 that such measures might include kicking the U.S. out of Incirlik airbase and a NATO missile defense warning site called Kurecik should sanctions be imposed. “We are currently running the process, whether it’s Incirlik, Kurecik or other issues,” he said, reported Stars & Stripes. “If America has very negative steps toward us, if there are sanctions or further steps, we will have answers to America.”

“If America has a hostile attitude towards us—as we have told them, we have no secrets—we take the countersteps,” Cavusoglu said. “It’s not a threat. It’s not a bluff.”

Operationally, the U.S. military can compensate for the loss of Incirlik by shifting operations elsewhere, such as Jordan, and indeed, has already done so with some operations. The complicating factor, however, is the fact that the U.S. stores an estimated 50 B61 nuclear bombs at Incirlik.

China’s PLA Will Stand Up to ‘Potential U.S. Military Extortions under Extreme Circumstances’ over Taiwan

July 24 (EIRNS)—China’s Defense Ministry warned that it was ready for war if there were a move toward Taiwan’s independence, accusing the United States of undermining global stability and denouncing its arms sales to the self-ruled island, reported Reuters today.

China would make its greatest effort for peaceful reunification, Defense Ministry spokesman Wu Qian said. “However, we must firmly point out that seeking Taiwan independence is a dead end,” Wu told a news briefing today on the new national defense White Paper. “If there are people who dare to try to split Taiwan from the country, China’s military will be ready to go to war to firmly safeguard national sovereignty, unity, and territorial integrity,” Reuters quoted him as saying.

Reuters quoted the Chinese ministry as stating the United States had “provoked intensified competition among major countries, significantly increased its defense expenditure … and undermined global strategic stability.”

In reply to a question on the Hong Kong demonstrations, Wu Qian mooted the possibility of using PLA troops if the demonstrations there got out of hand. “The behavior of some radical protesters challenges the central government’s authority, touching on the bottom line principle of ‘one country, two systems,’ ” Colonel Wu said. “That absolutely cannot be tolerated.” The violence of some demonstrators has included breaking into the Legislative Council, spray-painting the walls, and replacing China’s flag with the British Union Jack.

Wu rebutted reports of a secret pact with Cambodia granting China’s armed forces exclusive access to part of the Southeast Asian nation’s Ream Naval Base on the Gulf of Thailand, stating they were “not in accordance with the facts,” reported Reuters. “China and Cambodia have in the past carried out positive exchanges and cooperation on military drills, personnel training and logistics. This kind of cooperation does not target any third party.”

Deutsche Bank Announces $3.46 Billion Second Quarter Loss, More To Come

July 24 (EIRNS)—Deutsche Bank announced today that costs related to its latest restructuring plan, which includes creating a Bad Bank, would push its net loss for the second quarter to €3.1 billion ($3.46 billion).

Deutsche Bank’s stock fell more than 5%, and the firm’s net capitalization is a shade under $16 billion.

As much as this is a problem for Deutsche Bank, it is a bigger problem for the world financial system. Deutsche Bank is simply the most publicly dysfunctional of the world’s giant banks.

The Bank of England’s Financial Stability Report, Issue No. 45, July 2019, showed that banks own 55% of the $3.2 trillion market in leveraged loans, a market that has the stability of the Krakatoa volcano. And American banks have the largest national share of any country. American media have sarcastically commented that Deutsche Bank had tried to compete with the Goldman Sachses of this world, and had failed, while American banks are ostensibly in fine shape. However, the failure of about 30% of the leveraged loan market alone, spearheaded by the collateralized loan obligations, could sink all the large American banks.

On July 7, Deutsche Bank announced that it would establish a Bad Bank into which it would shove €75 billion ($83 billion) of non-performing tier-three derivatives, which cannot be priced, and which no other financial institution has bought for more than 10 years. It would set aside about $7.5 billion as loan loss reserves, but that would cover merely 10% of the value of these $83 billion zombie derivatives. Who will buy the other 90%? No one, and they will remain on Deutsche Bank’s books. Deutsche Bank just spent about 40% of the loan loss reserve fund for its second quarter accounts. If it spreads it out, it can do that for two more quarters. And then what?

(In addition to Deutsche Bank’s $83 billion in zombie derivatives, it holds $43 trillion of derivatives in total).

Other gimmicks and frauds may buy Deutsche Bank some time, but not much.

The whole world is acting as if the world financial system, overtopped by the $1.4 quadrillion in daily derivatives trading, is solvent. Deutsche Bank encapsulates, in its small corner, what is true of the world financial system as a whole.

THE NEW GLOBAL ECONOMIC ORDER

China and Emirates Sign Landmark Agreements, as Wang Yi Dubs U.A.E. ‘Shining Pearl along Belt and Road’

July 24 (EIRNS)— The Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed al Nahyan, Deputy Supreme Commander of U.A.E. Armed Forces, is visited China from July 21-23. The visit has resulted in a number of landmark agreements expanding economic cooperation and development between the two countries. Sheikh Mohamed was on a state visit, including a review of Chinese Honor Guard troops with Chinese President Xi Jinping.

In 2018, China and the U.A.E. signed a Comprehensive Strategic Agreement.

According to NewsClick, President Xi and Sheikh Mohamed “witnessed the signing of 16 agreements in the fields of defense and military cooperation, economy, oil and environment, nuclear power, etc…. Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (Adnoc) signed a strategic agreement with state-owned China National Offshore Oil Corporation to explore upstream as well as downstream collaboration.”

In April of this year, China signed an agreement to invest $3.4 billion into shipping and food projects in Dubai, as part of the Belt and Road Initiative. Meanwhile, in May, a Chinese conglomerate announced it was exploring a $10 billion investment in the Emirates. China’s East Hope Group conglomerate said it was working with Khalifa Industrial Zone Abu Dhabi, or Kizad, on a feasibility study for a three-phase, 15-year development at the port facility. East Hope Group is the latest Chinese firm to realize the potential of Abu Dhabi as a Middle Eastern hub and a gateway to the region, Africa and Europe.

Unwaveringly, the U.A.E. is an early customer of Huawei’s 5G network.

As a result, in 2018, trade between the two countries reached $45.9 billion, which was up by 12% from the previous year, and which is very large for such a small country.

During a written interview with Emirates News Agency on July 23, China’s Foreign Minister and State Councillor Wang Yi stated: “Our relationship, having stood the test of the changing international situation, has become a good example of state-to-state relations and a front-runner in China’s relations with countries in the region. … I believe as our two countries strive for substantive, steady and high-quality development of Belt and Road Cooperation, the U.A.E. will become a shining pearl along the Belt and Road.”

SCIENCE AND INFRASTRUCTURE

‘Ecological, Post-Growth Economist,’ EU Commission Push for Ecology Dictatorship in Europe

July 24 (EIRNS)—German professor of “PluralistEconomics” at the University of Siegen Niko Paech—whose specialties include Ecological Economics and Post-Growth Economics—has called on Germans to spy on their neighbors’ CO2 emissions. They should, he proposed, aggressively confront neighbors if they plan an air flight, drive SUVs, if they use to much water for their garden, and the like.

There is even a bigger scandal behind this:

What Paech calls for, is planned policy of the European Commission: “Expert Groups on Sustainable Finance” there have prepared two pieces of legislation (Proposal for a Green Bond Standard; Proposal for a Sustainable Taxonomy) that would oblige banks, industries, and households to a strict emissions reduction regime, including strict ecology standards for banking loans and investments. Individual bank and industry managers are even to be held personally liable for their institutions’ observing the planned rules, and they are obliged to report to the Commission regularly on their conduct, on progress or obstacles.

Fortunately, both proposed legislations which originally were to be passed before the May 26 elections for European Parliament, have been delayed and may, according to insiders, not be back on the official agenda before the new Commission takes office in the autumn. The legislation might be in place by 2020 or even later.

The two proposals which would establish a sustainability dictatorship for all of the European Union, have the support of numerous major private banks, investment funds, insurance companies, NGOs, thinks tanks and the EU’s own banks, including European Central Bank, European Investment Bank, and European Bank for Reconstruction and Development. Also Germany’s state-run Kreditanstalt für Wiederaufbau is involved.

Toyota and Japan’s Space Agency Agree To Develop Advanced Lunar Rover

July 24 (EIRNS)—Toyota Motors and the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA) signed on July 16 a three-year agreement to jointly develop an advanced pressurized lunar rover, which will incorporate fuel-cell electric-vehicle technologies. “Over the course of the three-year joint research period, JAXA and Toyota will manufacture, test and evaluate prototypes, with the goal of developing a manned, pressurized lunar rover and exploring the surface of the Moon as part of an international project,” Toyota stated in a press release.

Unlike NASA’s 1970s Apollo Moon buggies, this vehicle will be pressurized so astronauts won’t need to wear oxygen-supplying spacesuits when tooling around the lunar surface. It will be powered by “fuel cell electric vehicle technologies.”

According to Space.com, “The rover will be used for missions to explore the Moon’s polar regions, with the aim both of investigating the possibility of using the Moon’s resources—such as frozen water—and of acquiring technologies that enable exploration of the surfaces of massive heavenly bodies.”

Japan has significant abilities as a spacefaring nation. In September 2007, it launched its Kaguya lunar orbiter spacecraft, which orbitted the Moon for 21 months, before it was ordered to crash into the Moon’s surface. In April 2019, Japan’s Hayabusa2 spacecraft detonated a crater in an asteroid, and then in July, landed on the asteroid to extract rock samples to take back to earth for scientific investigation.

India is now considering teaming up with Japan for a lunar mission in 2025, Mashable India website reports, “After Chandrayaan-2, India might take a third shot at the Moon with another sequel lunar mission, Chandrayaan-3. Indian Space Research Organization is looking to rope in the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA) in its third trip to the Moon that is scheduled in 2025 and aims to collect lunar soil and rock samples from the South Pole of the Moon.”

Thus, six nations or entities have advanced space technologies with planned lunar missions on the books: China, Russia, the United States, India, the European Union, and not least, Japan. It is all the more necessary for a “unified space alliance,” for the Moon and Mars, as proposed by Apollo 11 astronaut Buzz Aldrin, which Helga Zepp-LaRouche champions.
