On Monday, special counsel Robert Mueller’s Russia collusion investigation broke new ground — former Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort and his business associate Rick Gates were indicted, and Trump adviser George Papadopoulos pled guilty to lying to the FBI.

It is now quite possible that Trump would make good on his threat to fire Mueller any day.
Now, more than ever, Congress must pass bipartisan legislation protecting special counsel Mueller from being fired. A number of bills have been introduced to stop the White House from interfering in this critical investigation — and we must pressure Congress to ensure that doesn’t happen.
